After school, Jack got into his jet black limo with Rylex who sat quietly besides him in the back.
After giving his order to the middle aged man sitting in the driver's seat at the front, he gave Rylex a glance and waited silently as his chauffeur began the slow drive back to his mansion.
He didn't bring his bodyguards today, as he wanted them to rest for a while. He understood humans weren't machines, and that his guards needed to relax for a while. Besides, wouldn't their efficiency be reduced due to stress and fatigue?
He already knew he couldn't die, thanks to someone who he'll teach a lesson when he's stronger, he knew that and didn't doubt it. Rylex who was still linked with him could also act as his protector— for now at least.
"Sigh…"
He picked up his phone and dialed a number swiftly with his head tilted forward before raising his phone to his ear, and closing his eyes. Listening to the ringing tune, an upbeat hip hop musical, blaring unrestrained from the phone's speakers, Jack couldn't help but frown.
Rylex with her sharp hearing gave Jack a glance as she heard the mechanical voice of a female from his phone. She only stared at him for a while before averting her gaze.
After a while, she leaned over to the side and rested her head against the window of the limo whilst peering outside with a strange light in her eyes. Se seemed to be musing on the unbreakable fundamentals of life, no one could tell what was going on in her head with the distant look in her gleaming silver eyes.
Suddenly, the silence was broken by a robotic voice that made Jack's brows jump.
"Beep! Call Answered!"
Jack opened his mouth, but paused with the corners of his eyes twitching just minutes later—
"Hello Big Brother! Where are you? Mom and Dad are already waiting for you in the dining room with your guests, and they seem to be getting along quite well."
Before Jack could open his mouth to speak, a crisp and lively voice was transmitted from the other side of the phone. His brows twitched upon hearing this, and after a while a smile formed on his lips.
Kayla's family was quite fast, he didn't believe they would rush there before him. Anyways, all he had to do was tell his sister to stall for time until he got home.
"Hello Fay, can you stall them for me please? I'll be there in a few minutes, and I don't want them to stay too long with Mother and Father. They'd be bored to death unless Mom finally started a conversation on something boring like business statistics and data.
As for that? That cold and apathetic old man is just the worst. Unless there's something on his mind he'd find it extremely difficult to voice out his mind in front of others.
Fay remained silent, seemingly pondering on something internally. After a few seconds, Jack heard a silvery and soft giggles that sent shivers down his spine.
"Okay, it's a deal. As for compensation for my hard work and labour, let me think about it…"
Compensation… Compensation…
'What think do you want to think about? You little brat? Think of what you want to extort from me?'
Jack wanted to cry out fiercely at his sister's actions, he knew that the next thing to come was an affirmation and he would need to give a small sum as compensation for her labour…
A bribe.
"Okay, I'll stall for a few hours… Just don't forget about that race we agreed on later!" Fay voiced out from the other end, and after that she hung up the call. She didn't hesitate when ending the call, lest Jack protest to her last words.
"The audacity…"
Jack's body stiffened as he heard the annoying mechanical "Beep!" from his phone, and he let out a dry chuckle, one that sounded like a broken record. He didn't know whether to laugh or cry at his misfortune.
What could he do? Should he scold his phone?
He just lowered his hand pocketed his phone with a defeated sigh. When he turned around to see Rylex leaning to the side and peering out of the window, he simply raised a brow and watched her.
She did have that legendary mind captivating charm that gods and goddesses in novels had… The charm capable of overturning empires and captivating souls…
But why did he feel as if her charm was being restrained? Like it was being shielded by something?
"Do you want to hear a story, Jack? I'm bored, and that's the only thing I can do right now except looking outside or punching you in the face…"
Jack smiled but didn't raise his voice in objection. He simply folded his arms across his chest and leaned back on to his chair. Story? He didn't decline it as he could gain something from Rylex's storytelling.
"Everything began with a void, a vast and endless space devoid of matter. The first entity to have ever existed, the Superior Creator was born out of nothing, lonely and silent in an empty space.
Speculators said he was born out of the will of the void, or the surviving species of some overpowered race… No one actually knew where he came from or how he came into existence…
He started off as a weak god level existence, and slowly grew, becoming stronger and more intelligent, more powerful, enough to understand his eternal purpose in life… His fate.
He was meant to be the omnipotent creator of all, the strongest and the greatest. He didn't try to break this circle of endless creation and power, nor did he try to escape his purpose in life.
After reaching the ultimate peak, he created the various parallel realities, planes, universes, galaxies and worlds in the void and gave the darkness light. He made millions of realms and realities out of a limitless and endless void of eternal darkness.
Feeling lonely, The Supreme Creator settled down and created the first members of heaven: The Elder Gods. These gods possessed one virtue out of the four immortal virtues of the Supreme Creator:
Ultimate Omnipotence, Ultimate Omnipresence, Ultimate Omniscience, and Ultimate Omnificence. These base virtues extended into various abilities and skills over time, skills such as God's Eyes, God's Heart and so on…"
Rylex stopped to catch her breath before exhaling and straightening her position in her seat with a soft smile on her face. She kept that smile as she continued,
"We, the true gods and descendants of the Elder Gods, didn't have either of the five qualities of our Superior Creator, but were born with the lower skills of the Four Immortal Virtues, the extensions comprehended and perfected over time."
"I don't see how any of that you said is related to the beautiful story I'm envisioning you narrating in my heart." Jack interrupted as he began to lose interest in Rylex's words. His lashes were drooping and his eyes were twitching.
This story was vastly similar to that of the God Of Light in the Holy Notes. Even a well-versed kindergartener knows the — even if it wasn't as deep and extensive as Rylex's — general idea of how everything was created! It was on the first chapter!
"Shut up Jack!" Rylex snapped without remorse as the glow in her eyes brightened for a second before slowly dying down. She cleared her throat and added politely, "Now where was I?"
Shut up? Shut up! Just you wait till this daddy transcends past the mortal realm, and then I will make you pay for this act of disrespect! As of now, let me act all quiet and peaceful, it's not fun getting stabbed to death.
Jack simply glared at her, but didn't do anything stupid. He only rolled his eyes and averted his gaze to peer out the limo's, but his focus wasn't outside but on Rylex's words.
"Thank you," Rylex muttered under her breath. She had hoped for Jack to be angry and lash out on her or something, but he simply ignored her words. She didn't mean it in the slightest, but this guy gets her sometimes!
She only sighed. She had formed a strong symbiotic bond with Jack with him as the host, if he gets mad and lash out at her whether vocally or physically, she will suffer a spiritual backlash.
We got sidetracked again, let's continue the story…
"Thousands of years ago, A young and naive goddess fell in love with a mortal. They got married as Eternal Companions living happily together for a few hundred years, and having many children.
That mortal had the rare ability to revive the dead, and he was targeted by countless gods. He slaughtered his path to freedom with the aid of his wife, and earned the immortal title of God Slayer.
He became power hungry, and fell prey to his greed and lust for ultimate power. The mortal challenged his creator, and was killed before he could even blink."
When Rylex said up to this point, Jack's eyes narrowed down to slits as strange and distorted images flashed before him for a mere second before fading.
"Killed in a blink…" Jack echoed as a shiver ran down his spine. He thanked his stars that someone like that was on his side.
Someone that slaughtered gods like chickens, someone who was practically immortal, was killed in a blink? He didn't even revive or regenerate? The Supreme Creator was that powerful?
"Wait, if the Superior Creator is that powerful and he is on my side, why doesn't he just kill off those that are hunting me down?" Jack questioned as he gave Rylex a suspicious look, he wasn't a fool, how could someone that powerful not have the means to instantly slaughter a mass of gods?
If he had the power to slaughter someone that couldn't die, what the hell was a multitude of gods? He should be able to wipe them all out in a blink!
Rylex just stared at Jack as if he had a brain problem or he had gone completely retarded due to the untimely discovery of his innate skilled, but sighed after realising something. She should have appeared before him when he had died a few more times…
"He is an absolutely neutral power that doesn't make a move unless the natural order of balance is either challenged by a fool or disturbed. He won't make a move unless a god is foolish enough to challenge him in whatever aspect." Rylex explained in a cool voice without a vivid change of expression on her face. She felt like cursing Jack right now, he was a little bit naive on some matters.
'Did he expect someone as powerful as The Supreme Creator to fight for a small fry like him? Truly naive…'
"Your chauffeur isn't getting anything we're saying right? Just to be sure…" Rylex asked as she gave Jack a worried glance. If the driver was hearing something, she would simply be left with no choice but to cleanse his memory.
Of course that was why she spoke so boldly, but she would first ask Jack so as to prevent a calamity from befalling the poor old man.
"Oh, this part of the car is completely soundproof. We can be screaming in here and no one would hear us out there." Jack said without batting an eyelid, he raised a brow when he saw the strange look Rylex was giving him. She looked like someone who had finally discovered the eternal meaning of love.
"What?"
Rylex simply smirked, then, disappeared from her position. In the next split second, she appeared sitting on Jack's lap while facing him.
"Do you want to try that kiss again?" Rylex licked her lips flirtatiously as she ran her hands across Jack's chest with a lustful gleam in her eyes. Her charm seemed to have risen with her sitting in such an intimate pose with Jack.
A nefarious flames surged in Jack's heart as he smirked maliciously, and he wrapped his arms around Rylex. He lifted his chin slightly to gaze into her eyes, and his smirk grew.
"I think you should…"
Rylex's breathing had already became ragged and hastened, the lustful glint in her eyes had reached a great level. She pulled herself closer into Jack's embrace in expectation.
"…Please continue the story…"
