Chapter 71 : Retribution.
"So powerful, she killed the entire unit 12, one of the strongest units of the human army single-handedly"
'If only I was an elemental right now!'
"She walked out like nothing happened'
"She is really worthy to be called the Emperor's sister'
Whispers came from left and right as comments began to fly in, people were discussing their different opinions about the matter, while some were happy, some were very angry and displeased.
Finally, Stan Lee decides to speak, he stood in front of the camera after he had captured the whole thing through one of his subordinates who recorded the earlier scenes, it was put on replay and reduced to a smaller size to contain half the screen, while Stan Lee's face was on the other half.
"Reporting right here from the human-elemental summit, This is your favorite host, Stan Lee, reporting on Elemental TV, take a look at this scene, you would see here that the human leaders dont take us seriously. A lot of dead elementals lay waste on the ground of all the schools that were attacked and they showed real disrespect by not considering the severity of the situation.
"The elemental emperor had sent a representative to calm the situation and find ways to deal with the aftermath of such occurrences, and instead of cooperation that was required, all that was being met with was a provocation. And rightly as you can see, under the wrath of the pain, General Suzie Wang Lashed out. A criminal organization that is left unchecked would cause harm to everyone in the end"
Many reporters from both the human and elemental section gave their reviews, the human leaders were in disarray, there was confusion amongst them, they were genuinely angry at the scene. But they had to be cautious of the elemental reporters, who knows what powers they had up their sleeves, General
Wang was just too domineering to ignore.
The human Leaders then decided on another closed-door meeting, where they left the general public to have their secluded meeting.
In this meeting, leaders of States, leaders of small counties, leaders of a battalion, and two 5 star generals were gathered in a small room with the air conditioner turned on.
There was tension in the air as they sat silently. Suddenly a 5-star general got up and started speaking, initially, he was composed but later on anger was sipping in, "My brothers and sisters, this meeting started with goodwill from our human society in a bid to help the elementals, but just when we were about discussing ways to help them, an elemental bitch killed my brother and the entire unit 12 squad.
"We all know how powerful unit 12 is and the deeds they had to do to accomplish so many of their achievements, we won't stand on ceremony and wait around to be slaughtered like chickens.
"Many years ago, the Emperor came to our lands and overtook our human society, killing women and children and soldiers alike, men were not spared either, citizens were slaughtered in thousands, as long as they refused his rule. We couldn't put up any fight nor could we rebel, but now, it is different, we have atomic weapons and weapons of mass destruction, we can wipe them out.
"We ought to be supporting the Skeleton organization because to me, the elementals are a scum, they need to be wiped off."
The general sat down after that, he sounded so righteous and peeved, he adjusted himself, while some others in the meeting agreed to his words, some felt it was a tard bit excessive.
Another man got up from the seated county leaders, he was a wealthy count of popular origins, he had a look of indifference all through the course of the meeting and had said nothing but remained quiet, but for some reason, he decided it was time for him to speak.
"General Trist, are you part of the skeleton organization?", the question by the county leader, Count Slov Dallas was too shocking, that the general that had just spoken, General Trist Hebb was stunned, he then got up to speak.
"Dallas, your joke is too extreme, by what means have I identified with the criminal organization..."
"You definitely support their course and even identified their actions as being right, your exact words were, 'we ought to be supporting the skeleton organization' isn't that what you said? does the action of a man decide the fate of a group of people? You don't want to be punished for the action of the skeleton organization, yet you want to punish the elementals for the actions of Emperor Wang
and his sister, doesn't that make you a hypocrite'
Everyone was stunned by those words, they didn't openly agree but they knew Count Dallas was right, they still wouldn't say it out loud because truly General Suzie had made an open spectacle of one of their respected generals, there was retribution to be made on the elementals, and even if there was some sense to what Count Dallas said, nobody cared about that, they just wanted revenge.
The atmosphere was tense, General Trist looked at Count Dallas with anger evident on his face, "are you siding with the humans? Let me know your stand so I can know the exact number of people to blast into smithereens!!!" General Trist barked in anger, he didn't hide his hatred nor the indignation he felt and directly he stormed out of the meeting unable to control his surging emotions.
Understandably his brother had just died, being emotional was human nature, however, some felt that the use of an atomic weapon was a step too far, after all, it was just a single individual that offended, why use weapons that can wipe out an entire country from the face of the earth, isn't that too excessive.
A lot of them felt that General Trist was not in his right mind, and even though they hated the elementals to an extent, they wouldn't go as far as wiping them out completely, that was provocative, one won't know how to control the extent of wrath being heaped on one's head.
There was silence once again in the meeting, Count Dallas wasn't one to cower in fear, he had his military achievements and had horned his skills to the apex, only on retirement did he decide to enjoy all the wealth he had accumulated over the years. In truth, he had an elemental Wife and two daughters which he kept secret from the world, and he would do anything to protect them. His daughters both attended human schools and he warned them to not show their powers to anyone.
They complied and hid so well, going to school as normal humans and returning, being extremely protective of his daughters he had set up many measures to keep them safe.
His friends and other county leaders would question him on his excessive protective measures designed for his daughters, but he would just shrug it off and explain it away as being a popular person who had made a lot of enemies over the years and the others would have no other option but to agree after carefully considering it.
Now that their lives were being threatened, he couldn't just sit idly by and watch them be slaughtered because of a single person's vendetta. "So what do we do now?" One of the other county leaders asked in the crowd.
There would surely be retribution on General Suzie Wang for killing a human general in a summit consisting of humans and elemental leaders.
"However, we can't afford to allow this initial agitation to break out into an all-out war, a war between humans and elementals would not favor either side and even with the use of atomic bomb we have no idea what they have up their sleeves, we can't afford to be blinded by hatred..."
County Dalla was trying to calm down the tension in the room before someone else got up, it was the second 5-star general, General Howard.
'It is easy for you to say, after all, you didn't lose anybody in the process. Understandably, you'd not be angry. For me, I am going to meet her when the two days ultimatum is up and I won't come bearing gifts, it would be a ruthless display of the might of my unit, unit 13, we won't suppress our strength like General Cayle
Hebb did before he was killed like a chick before an eagle".
The General, General Luke then turned around and stormed out of the meeting in a similar fashion as the last General, General Trist.
The hall was quiet again, everyone looked to Count Dallas, for his response, but he just stayed silent. "Count Dallas, since you have started, please give us your suggestion on how to deal with general Suzie Wang" a leader of a small state spoke, he happens to feel indignant towards the action of General Suzie Wang, but he couldn't underestimate her abilities, he like many others, felt that no one should be that powerful without being checked or there being something powerful enough to match or stop them.
"Before we engage in a battle of strength, we need to show our sincerity to the elementals by dealing with the Skeleton organization on our own, then we can bring the result and demand a punishment, that is what I feel should be done"
Count Dallas spoke slowly but clear enough to be heard across the hall, after so many arguments here and there, the meeting finally ended and everyone left.
