Back at the water nation....

Kendra sat with her back facing the entrance of the room while she floated in the air, remaining in that same sitting position.
She used water cascades to propel herself as she moved. She exerted her mind to connect to every single drop of water throughout the nation.
She noticed the wind picking up and transforming into a human. She knew instinctively that this was the work of the air nation scouts.
She pretended not to see the messenger, as his apparition entered and surveyed the surrounding. She knew one thing, and that was, that "war was coming'
Immediately after the messenger disappeared, she rushed over to assemble everyone.
All the soldiers were present, the children included. Lancelot, Dice, and Cherry were also present.
Then Kendra began to speak with such gloomy expressions, recounting in her head the painful past she had had under the actions of the air nation battalion.
"War is coming everyone, the air nation has sent their scout, what usually follows is the top-ranking officials and their battalion, sneak attacking any nation scouted."
"1 want us to prepare our minds, we need all the strength we could get."
She then turned to Lancelot, fixing her gaze on him, "We depend on you, please lead us".
This statement shocked everybody including Lancelot himself. They knew that in that meeting, Kendra was the most powerful being there, simply judging by her element control and her being at the peak of level 4.
However, what they didn't know was that not only has Lancelot reached the level 4 position in fire control, but he has also climbed higher in beast, air, and even water control levels.
What surprised Lancelot was Kendra admitting it openly and in such a fashion. He was stunned but bowed without saying anything.
Cherry was standing with a proud look as she beamed at her brother, while Dice was getting used to Lancelot's ability to stun people awkwardly.
Xanthu was particularly uncomfortable with what was forming between Kendra and Lancelot but as days went by he grew powerless to stop it.
He was particularly jealous not just because Lancelot was taking his place as the combat leader and the vanguard but he was also taking his place as the most important individual in Kendra's life.
He could only stare and clench his fist till his knuckles turned white from restricted blood flow.
The meeting ended a while later and everyone had a serious expression on their faces, including the children.
At such a young age, they had improved so much in their mastery of the water element and together they stand a chance of inflicting serious damage to 10 individuals at once.
They got to cooperate and understand battle formations across different training and have grown so much stronger together.
Kendra walked straight to her room, which was simple, it had the most intricate designs and contains all her creative designs as a water element top priestess.
She had few clothes or personal items as she had devoted most Of her time to war, she cared little for personal comfort.
As she stood looking at all her laurels that were mounted on the walls of her room as souvenirs from previous battles she felt someone enter like the swoosh of the wind and he emerged behind her all of a sudden.
'Lancelot'- she knew instinctively.
"You're becoming better at your air elemental control" she praised him without holding back.
He nudged her from behind and enjoyed her scent. Her hair was flowing with the trace of water element embedded in it.
She leaned into him, completely ignoring her past restrictions. Lancelot brought his hands around her and held her tenderly, melting into her gorgeous body.
"l will avenge you, and after, you will be fully mine then right?" He asked still full of hope to have Kendra all to himself.
He never cared about the huge age gap, nor the war-studded priestess or the huge authority she wielded, he only cared for what he felt in his heart.
She turned to look at him with a penetrating gaze.
"Lancelot, are you sure you want to be with me?"
She asked, with a little bit of worry edged in her face.
She thought, she might die in the war to come, since she was even lucky to be alive, to begin with, and if she was going to die at the end of the day, it might end up destroying Lancelot.
She had tried so hard to push him away and even tried setting him up with some female water nation soldiers but he turned them all down.
She gave up on the idea when she noticed his answer didn't waver even in the face of extremely gorgeous water nation soldiers.
"What if I die?" Kendra asked.
Lancelot then cupped her face in his hands and kissed her passionately. it took her by surprise but she just melted into the kiss not holding back all the passion she felt for him.
"I will protect you," He said with such command of the elements, the water rose from the surrounding air and collided with a rushing wind and a little bit of fire joined, it was a beautiful scene.
There was an authority in his voice and his confidence skyrocketed at that instant.
He thought of nothing else but the beautiful Kendra that stood before him.
He felt he would turn the entire world upside down before anyone laid a finger on her, his passion blossomed like that of young men in love.
He spent the night in her room that night keeping her bed warm and holding her passionately as they slept in each other's embrace.
The air around them blossomed with the feeling of love as the night was so soothing to their needs.
Every other person was making his or her confession as they knew no one could predict if he or she was going to live or die after the war.
Cherry and Dice were also together that night, it was the first night they felt each other deeply beyond the superficial connection they established.
Knowing each other's bodies at an intimate level and enjoying the warmth of the night, Xanthu, on the other hand, slept with one focus in mind;
-And that was, the killing of every single air nation bastard and getting revenge for all they did to Kendra, nothing else mattered to him.
In everyone's heart, something was beating in the anticipation of war. It was the drumbeat of war. The war to come.
