The pounding of Fufu (1) was heard.

The sizzling of the onions which were soon combined with tomato paste, smoked crayfish, pumpkin seeds and melon all contributed to the smell and taste of finger-licking Egwusi soup that accompanied the dish.

The gods had warned us every time the Pestle(Wamba) hit the Fufu, they were forced into the skies. But even the thought of resisting this ethereal dish saddens their heart. Just once my folk said.

Just twice

They began to consume the dish until they forgot what the gods had warned them about.

They left their hometown in search of the promised lands the gods had promised aeons ago.

Leaving the boundary, they left their security.

Ahhh, The screams, of the people who lost their lives to the Unknown.

Prayers were prayed, but the gods could not hear them, they were forced into the heavens by the pounding of Fufu, so the prayers never reached them.

One day Asaase Yaa, the goddess of the earth, plants, crops, growth and fertility, descended to earth to her people.

A child will be born who fluently speaks our language and will guide you to the chosen

Days became weeks and months turned into years, the child had not been born. The prophecy had not been fulfilled.
