Chapter 1 - Eons: Elemental Warrior

Eons: Elemental Warrior

At night in the center of a large desolate mountains forest there was a steep cliff face with a small crack located near the top, indiscernible from the ground nor the peak off the cliff. inside this narrow crack was a disproportionately large cave system with all paths leading deep into the center of the mountain. upon reaching its depths one would see a small body of water around 100 meters across with a small podium at its end only accessible if one were to cross the water.

However, a stranger seen lie in front of the pond. A large circle of warm blood surrounded by strange bloody glyphs with blood trailing from the circle to the wrist of a skeleton leaning against the cave wall. one would assume the skeleton was there for years if not for the streaming wet blood on the ground or the fact that the clothing on the skeleton was practically brand new with hardly any dust on it. an eerie sight to say the least.

When time passed and the blood began to cool a dim red glow began to shine from the circle; progressively getting brighter as time went by until the light was blinding.

A small tear in space formed at its center sucking in all the red light rapidly before a dull thud was heard and the strange seen returned to normal, leaving a man sitting cross legged with his eyes closed at the circles center.

He had a slim but fit build with well-defined features, shoulder length black hair, and a face that displayed an extraordinarily sharp bearing. he was a youth at 20 years old; his name was Alder Trant.

Once alder opened his dark brown nearly black eyes he jerked in shock; his eyes darting around the cave franticly before landing on the skeleton; freezing and holding his breath before finally pulling his eyes away towards his surroundings.

As he paned the cave and noted the blood circle that was still somewhat fresh and the pond at the end of the giant cave he muttered

''what the fuck is this''

shock and disbelief were evident on his face but strangely no fear to be seen. previously sitting in the side room of a martial arts tournament claiming his mind before preforming; the change was too sudden for him to prosses.

Alder slowly stood up and walked around the circle looking at the strange marking's before lightly stepping over them. first, he walked away from the skeleton and up to the pond reaching his right hand down to grab some water to splash on his face. but as his hand went halfway in.

"AHHhhh'

he muffed a yell as he fell backwards pulling his hand from the water; grabbing his right wrist with his left hand and watching the flesh on his fingers bubble and dissolve as if being melted by acid; he clenched his eyes shut and grit his teeth trying to deal with the pain, but it suddenly vanished.

Breathing hard and opening his eyes Alder saw his hand was perfectly fine; not a scratch on it. although Alder's pain tolerance could be considered inhumane, he had to admit that was the worst pain he'd felt in his entire life.

Tons of harsh training and many broken bones occurred over the course of his martial art's practice. Accompanying the fact that he had many surgeries as a child that led him to having a skewed outlook that pain wasn't that bad of a feeling; although he wasn't a masochist, he wasn't afraid of feeling it. At least that's what he thought up until this point; a pain that cut in to his verry soul left him unable say the same about that pond. cold sweat dripping off his forehead as he stood back up and distanced himself from the pond.

Whatever was happening here was outside of his ability to understand; not wanting to mess with the skeleton he proceeded to start making his way out of the cave; however, as he reached a distance of 400 meters away from the pond he stopped.

Countless passages with twists and turns left him stuck. worst off all however was the fact that he couldn't see anything past this point as it was pitch black. although he didn't realize it before the pond itself was giving off a mild glow that naturally lit the area. once he left starving to death or guessing the right paths were the only two options.

Unwillingly walking back to the circle and looking around more, the oddity of the skeleton left him further confused. Fresh blood and old bones with new clothing. He thought

'Well, I'm either out of my mind or this is magic.'

Making my way over to the skeleton I saw this somewhat tattered satchel at its back that mismatched the new fancy clothing.

A bound leather book sticking out with bloody fingerprints on the corner. I reached down with some trepidation and grabbed the book then backed up to take a look. sadly, the text on the cover looked like an odd mix between ancient geek and Arabic letters. I opened the cover, and it was more of the same however I could recognize some numbers here and there.

Scanning to the bottom of the first page another circle similar to the one I found myself in was depicted. looking at it my vison blurred, and I felt like some of my energy was sapped away.

As I was about to throw the book away the letters on the page started to rearrange themselves. Dumbfounded more by what I read the fact that I was able to read it, reason being it was written to me! well written for my I should say as it didn't know who I was only that I was summoned.

'If I was summoned that confirms its magic… At least I hope it does."
