Zach's POV.
As I ran in the opposite direction trying to make as much noise as possible. BY grunting and breaking as many tree branches as possible. I didn't want to waste my limited ammo supply so I had to make do, and hope that it would work.
Luckily enough after a few minutes of making as much noise that I could, my efforts paid off. I heard chatter coming from behind me. Making headway fast.
It seemed that they were excited about making another kill for their organization.
Too bad for them that most of them would be dying along with me tonight. I did not plan on going out quietly.
First however I needed to find a nice vantage spot that would allow me to turn the tables on them and ambush them.
Like I said earlier, I wasn't planning on dying alone. I was a fighter after all.
Moving quietly now I made my way over to a denser part of the forest, one where I was still able to clearly see where the enemy was coming from.
Jumping over some boulders and dead trees I finally found a suitable spot for my ambush spot. It was perfect, I had amble cover as well as being able to see from most of the angles where the enemy was coming from.
To me it wasn't perfect, but it was usable, and usable was what I needed right now. I made sure to hide m body as best as possible.
Didn't want the enemy to see me by accident. That would most likely end horribly.
I aimed my sidearm out towards where i heard the enemy talking, ready to fire at a moment's notice. My blood was pumping through my veins as my heart pounded in my ears. The stress and tiredness had finally caught up with me.
Not like that would allow me to fail here. I was still a war-torn veteran, the only thing that could stop me was death itself. However, with Eve as my wife and by my side. That would definitely have to wait a while.
After a few minutes of tedious waiting the Black Dearh Order finally arrived. Though it was less than I had imagined.
It must have been a scouting patrol. I needed to be careful on how I handled them. If I killed them all with my pistol, then my ammo would be severely depleted. But if I silently tried to take them out then I could potentially be left exposed upon the rest of the enemy reinforcements.
Twas the conundrum.
I decided that I could use the bullets when left exposed, so I moved down off of my vantage point towards the enemy. Though there were only five of them it was something that I could easily take care of, with planning.
However, I couldn't necessarily plan on the spot.
I wasn't superhuman. Though I sometimes thought that I was.
Silently moving through the trees, trying my best to hide my shadow I neared the enemy.
As they neared, I holstered my weapon and grabbed my knife which still had some dry blood on it.
'I needed to clean that later.' I thought as I moved in for my first kill.
My knife slid through the throat of my first opponent that was no longer alive, as I slashed all the way though his jugular. The blood spurted everywhere as his eyes glowed with fear, and then eventually emptiness.
Not wasting a moment, I moved on to my next opponent who was a little more ready for my attack, though was still to slow in his approach.
I slid my knife though his ribs, towards his heart. I assumed it pierced it as his life slowly faded from his eyes. Once again, another body was added to my count.
The number of which I lost the count of.
The next three enemies were a bit hard but fell all the same. With death staring them in the face. BY the time that I had caught my breath the rest of the Black death organization had caught up with the me.
Now it was game time.
