Eve's POV.
A million different thoughts were racing through my mind all at once. Who was it that wanted my husband dead?
Why can't I get a hold of him? What do I need to do for his safety?
Were only some of them.
Cain didn't say a word the entire drive over to the hospital. I wanted to ask him if he had heard from Zach but also, I didn't want to put him in a difficult spot. Between his friend and his boss.
Cain was speeding and weaving through all of the traffic and made it in record time. HE really was the best bodyguard.
AS I rushed out of the car Cain yelled at me.
"Ma'am he is fine don't worry!"
I didn't turn around but inwardly I thanked him. Continuing forward I headed through the automatic front doors of the hospital and made my way over to the front desk.
"Hi, could you please tell me where Levi James' room is. I am his boss." I said to the lady at the front desk.
She didn't look up from her computer nor did she even answer me, her fingers just kept quickly typing away at her keyboard. This lasted for a few moments until she finally looked up at me.
"He is in room 203." She spoke.
After she that she looked back down at her computer. Completely forgetting about me.
"T-Thanks." I spoke.
I ran to the elevator pushing the button for the second floor and then rushing to room 203.
Before opening the door, I collected myself making sure not to not seem stressed.
"KNOCK!"
"KNOCK!"
I knocked lightly and then entered the room slowly, making sure not to scare anyone that was in the room.
"Beep."
"Beep."
"Beep."
The sound of the heart monitor echoed throughout the room as a man wearing a hospital gown laid in the bed unconscious.
I closed the door slow and quietly and walked over to the head of the bed.
"I am so sorry that you got caught up in all of this." I whispered to the man.
I slowly touched his forehead with my hand, noticing that he was warm but not to warm.
Just right.
"Phew he seems to be doing okay." I said with a smile on my face.
After I spent around twenty minutes in the room making sure everything was alright and talking to the doctors in charge of Levi. I made sure to also pay for all of his treatment, so he didn't have to worry about anything.
Most of it was covered by the company's insurance.
After I left the building Cain was outside waiting for me as usual. The only thing on my mind now was to find Zach and make sure that he was alright.
"Take me to where Zachary is, NOW!" I said not willing to budge on this no matter what he said.
"Yes, ma'am right away. He said with his head held low like a lost puppy.
I almost felt bad for him then I realized that he was friends with my husband and knew where he was right now, when I didn't. Then I didn't feel sorry for him at all and just got more irritated.
"Huff." I huffed in annoyance.
I needed to see Zach or else my heart would beat out of its chest.
