For the first time in weeks he was happy the burdens of not having his mate near vanished. At last his wolfs anxiety eased and the man rejoiced. He bets he was smiling ear to ear, hell he felt like skipping and turning Moon University into an episode of Glee.
"You happy? I don't like it."
"Shut it hater."
He joked around with Bank who dragged him to his seat. Bank is one of the guys he felt comfortable around, he is human as his mate.
"The boys and I are going out for some drinks tonight, Join." - Bank
"Bank don't forget to tell him if he declines the drinks will be on him." - Pete
Pete chimes in and almost instantaneously the dumb ass stiffened, his heart rate increasing to a point of concern. That is when he realized that what his reaction every time he was around Pete which must mean… dumb fuck loves Peat or have a crush on him.
"Shut up Pete. It's business students only, what do you say?" - Bank
Yep. Dummy definitely has his own feeling to process and until then he will have to suffer their childish bickering… This is so not fair.
"Pass."
He will be waiting for his fated mate to call for their date, if he can call it one. Taken aback for a moment, Bank place his persistent mask back on, calling Pete for reinforcement and that's how a temporal alliance has been born between the two.
"Why?" - Pete
"None of your business."
"His too happy for a single person..."
Bank observes. Satisfied with his suspicion, he made his way closer patting his back. The idiot is already congratulating him without the facts of his misery… Little does he know that his not even close to obtaining Leam's heart once more.
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"Look at him. He looks like he saw cloud nine and then let us look at Pete, oh Pete. Dude how long has it been since you went out with someone, anyone?" - Bank
Bank could have just asked him if his seeing someone, done that's it. Perhaps the fool subconsciously is intrigued but his brain and mouth constantly gets in the way of sense.
"Why are you taking shots at me? You always on my case. It is like you want me?" - Pete
Pete leans in closer to tease the now shrinking man… Whatever… Their bickering is beginning to bore him, mainly because he knows at least two possible ways this relationship will end up.
"Ridiculous." – Bank retorts
"I think you two need to go to couples counselling and stay out of my presumed love life."
"Ahh… So you found that special someone?" - Bank
"Who is she? Or maybe his a he? Either way, I am interested in knowing who it is?" - Pete
A vile taste of jealousy made its way to his mouth and it comes from a man that claims have no romantic interest in Pete. This scent says otherwise, does this man not see how his body reacts when his around this equally naive man?
"Why are you so interested Pete? Do you like Jack?" - Bank
"Agh... I can't win here. Bank you are being ridiculous. Ey man (Jack), I will call you later so that you can tell me everything. Since Prof is not here I will clean my glasses, go to the bathroom and hopefully when I return I don't have to deal with Bank's bullshit."
Pete disappeared and he faced Bank with a questioning glare. They both kept quiet, their staring contest making Banks gaze drop. Jake laughed to himself.
"Humans are so easy."
"What?"
"Nothing... So Pete, huh?"
Denial is the first stage. Bank does not need to be sexually attracted to any other guys to understand his interest has always been the bozo that keeps coming back. It is easy to say that they are both into each other, hell their souls chose each other for fates sake… Being human is hard, they have to find love without that mate call or animal instinct's that play a role in identifying their fated mates. Leam is human (his wolf internally whines)…
"That was nothing, okay."
"I said nothing my jumpy friend."
"You did not have too... Here is a deal tell me why and who you blowing us for, in turn I answer two of your questions?"
"Okay? Sounds reasonable… extremely fair… Okay… I am courting my senior, Leam."
"Leam. Leam. Leam. In what faculty?"
"Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. I already answered your questions, now listen to mine. Why don't you just tell Pete how you feel?"
"Pete is a geek. Why? Should I tell him that his presence is annoying? That it is impossible for that small head of his to know everything. Oh and the way he scrounges up his glasses makes him look like a nerdy nervous bunny."
"Mmm... Second question. Do you think you might be interested in that nerdy bunny?"
"Hell no. Rulers and I have a thing in common, we are both straight."
Jack laughs and leans in closer to Bank.
"Okay cool, so you don't mind if I shoot my shot? I mean from the get go I thought you were possessive and flirty because you were attracted to Pete... Now it turns out you just an ass so, I am stepping in."
"No. You said that you have this 'thing' with a person named Leam. Trust me okay, all I do is to keep the dork safe. I don't like him more than just a friend but it does not mean I am cool with people approaching him right now. Pete a cute bunny, his presence is annoyingly comfortable, his crazy smart and oddly interesting. Did you know he thinks he got me all figured out? Agh. I find that more frustrating than his presence around me."
"Let us go back to the question I asked earlier. Do you think you might be interested in that nerdy bunny?"
"I don't know?"
"Figure it out and stay out of my love life, okay."
"You just altered my life. You stupid jerk."
"How? Yeah let it sink in, I'm back."
Pete crossed his arms over his chest ready to defend himself from rolling insults… As was said in the beginning these two constantly bickers but now one finally knows why.
"Cool. Sit." - Bank
"Really? His not going to fight with me? Wow. Cool let me sit before he change his mind, because Godd knows I needed him to tell me, to sit." - Pete mused
"I'm out. Damn you Jack. This is your doing."
Before he made his way to escape the Prof. walked in dropped a stack of papers and everyone groaned.
"Sorry I'm late but fear not I do not come alone, I come bearing gifts of knowledge. It is a quiz, you have about thirty minutes to complete it and then you can leave."
"Damn my luck." - Bank
