Maddie kicked her feet happily in her plane seat, looking around to see the empty plane. "Hey! Hey! Hey! it's only us two~" she nudged Jay a bit. "This is a V.I.P. plane, Maddie, we're the only people allowed in here," he said, clearly annoyed. Maddie sighed and slumped in her seat, "Well, that's no fun. Why couldn't we fly with the others to the conference?" Jay shrugged and replied, "Apparently the other planes were packed so I had to buy my own.". "YOU BOUGHT THE PLANE?!" Maddie beamed, jumping in her seat out of excitement. Jay just rolled his eyes in and said, "No, I bought a ticket for it". Maddie pouted but then grinned again when she thought about the surprise they would give Aki and Olive when they arrived at their destination. They only had to hope that Chris and Aki could make it in time to join them! a few hours passed and Maddie looked around once more, feeling a little bored. "Hey! Where are the snacks?" She asked. Jay reached into his bag, pulling out a big bag of candy. "I thought you might be hungry," he said as Maddie grabbed the candy happily and began to munch away. She was pretty excited to be on a plane alone with Jay whether it was to be seductive or to just get to know him better. Whatever the case, it was sure to be a memorable flight. Maddie wanted to get Jay's attention so she decided to poke his face. When that didn't work she poked him twice, then three times, then before the fourth he grabbed her finger. "What." He said, raising one of his eyebrows. Maddie blushed and stammered an explanation. "Oh nothing! I uh…Can I sit on your lap?" She said. Jay looked around the cabin before pinching his nose, "you're like a kid...if I let you will you leave me be?" He said. Maddie nodded and he allowed her to sit on his lap. Maddie adjusted herself to make herself comfortable and looked over at the closed window with a satisfied smile. She reached for the window and nearly fell off on his lap though she managed to stay on because Jay holding her waist. Maddie opened the small window of the airplane and felt a rush of air in her face. Outside, through wispy clouds, she saw bright sunshine streaming down on an endless landscape below. The sun seemed to be kissing every inch of sky and earth with its breathtaking light as it spread out forever like a star-strewn quilt. She watched in wonder as they flew closer to their destination, the land becoming more vibrant with each passing minute until finally it glowed golden against an azure blue horizon that stretched far beyond her sight. Jay rested peacefully in his seat, with Maddie cradled in his lap. His head rested against her back while sunbeams cascaded over him; he didn't seem to notice them at all. His face was soothed by the peaceful air of their shared moment, and his dark hair was like an ink spill as it hung over his eyes and framed a pair of half-lidded eyes that belied the exhaustion from a long day of travel. "oops, looks like I wasn't the only one getting comfortable was I~" Maddie whispered, turning herself around in his lap and wrapping his hands around her waist before she placed her hands on his cheeks. "Jay Huh…? Aki is lucky to have you isn't she? Or perhaps…" Maddie leaned in, her lips just inches away from his own. "Perhaps you're lucky to have her?" she asked in a hushed tone. Her voice seemed to change from high-pitched and fun to a more serious and motherly one as if she was aware of the gravity of their situation. She rested her head on his chest and gave a little sigh, "Guess it doesn't matter… at least she might get her happy ending this way." She had a completely straight face as she thought about everything. She reached for his hands and intertwined their fingers before lifting her head to look into his eyes. The sun slowly descended, casting its rosy hue on the horizon. She stared off into the distance, her eyes a storm of emotions. "It's beautiful..isn't it?".
