Chereads / Taming Mila Carter / Chapter 6 - Six

Chapter 6 - Six

Mila gasped when he brought his face forward for another kiss.

"You know this is very inappropriate, do you not?" She asked him. Her cheeks turned red.

He looked at her.

She turned her face away.

"Vincent!" She tried to move away.

Vincent held her in place. Mila turned her head away.

"We are at your school. If you need anything you can ask me the sisters to call me," He said and kissed her cheek.

Sister Benedetti was at the gate to check her.

"It is improper behavior, Mr. Vincent," She remarked.

Mila pulled her things out of the car.

"I have lived here long enough, I do not need help from you. I have my parents and Austin too," She replied.

Vincent stood in front of her.

"Your family knows you are my responsibility now. We are engaged, Mila. You know that it is not different from being married," He told her.

"You are not my husband yet, so you do not need to worry about me, Mr. Vincent Delmont," She carried her things and went away.

She attended the first class of the day. She could feel people's eyes staring at her.

"What?" She yelled, disrupting the entire class.

"Mila, if you do not want to attend my class anymore, you may leave," The teacher told her.

Mila got up and went to her dorm, there was no use to attend classes anymore because she was not going to be allowed to complete her education.

"How was your little get-together with the pretty man that came the other day?" Stella her very good friend asked.

She rolled her eyes and laid in bed.

"Bella is going around, telling people the news of you not being a virgin. I think the entire school knows about it by now," She added.

Mila sighed.

"That explains the eyes this morning," Mila replied.

She lifted her hand and looked at the diamond ring that was stuck to her finger.

"Can you remove this? I heard a ring was stuck on your finger the other time and you managed to remove it," Mila asked her.

Stella looked at the jewelry on her finger.

"This looks expensive, like very expensive. Is it a family heirloom or something?" She asked her.

Stella went to her box and brought grease.

"Dip your hand in here and I will try to pull it out," She told her.

Mila did as she was told and Stella began to pull it out. Mila screamed as they tried to pull it.

"You know we are not supposed to be in the hostel, so keep your mouth shut. Unless you do not want me to pull it out," She told Mila.

Mila keep quiet and waited for her to pull off the ring.

"It is done," Stella smiled as she finally pulled it off.

Mila was happy, at least she did not have to carry a huge ring where ever she went.

Vincent called Austin.

"Pack up, we are going to the states," She told him.

Austin sighed.

"I am not going anywhere with you. I have a lot of things to do. My father is not well," He spoke.

Vincent sighed knowing where his anger was coming from.

"You knew I liked Mila, why are you making it look as if it was a discovery," He spoke.

Austin was angry.

"That was when we were younger. Besides Mila was just a child then and I thought you were crazy. You are not good for Mila and you know that. You are far older than her and you move around with different women. She does not deserve to be with a person like you and I am angry that I am not doing anything about that. I will not let Mila marry you, D. Even though you are my very good friend, family is before any other thing," He yelled over the phone.

Vincent laughed.

"Austin you are my second and you are not going to do anything. I will take your sister to my bed, fuck her and you will stand by and do nothing. You will still respect me because I am above you. Do not let me forget our friendship. You know me better than the others, I do not tolerate disrespect, even from you, Mate. Now, pack your stuff and get ready, we are going to meet the Society to receive punishment for continuously disrespecting them," He replied.

Austin wanted to talk back, why did he disrespect him so much?

"You should go. It is your duty," Steven said and he entered the room.

Austin turned off the phone and looked at him.

"Duty? My duty? I do not want to be in anything he is in," He shot back at her.

Steven shook his head.

"I am sorry to say. You were born into a strict society and you cannot leave your duties because you are offended. He has chosen you to be his second and you cannot do anything about it," He replied.

"Did you not hear what he had to say about Mila? She is my sister and I cannot tolerate such disrespect from him. She is your daughter too unless you have disowned her from being your daughter," He spoke.

Steven turned to go.

"Vincent did not say anything false. When they get married, they will do things that are expected from every married couple. Mila will belong to him and you need to accept it and move on. You should not become enemies with your friend because you do not want him to marry your sister," He told him.

They boarded a plane and went back to America.

"I am glad you decided to follow me," Vincent tried to piss him off.

"You did not give me a choice. I am only here for work and will return after we do what we are supposed to," He replied.

Vincent laughed.

After school, Mila's classmates surrounded her.

"I heard the news, Mila. To think you were the best amongst us. The teachers were always treating you like the holy virgin. I did not know you were such a slutty bitch," Claire spoke.

Claire was from one of the founding families of the society, there was no way she was going to let this go. They hated each other.

Mila was shocked wondering where all this was coming from and who started the fake news. Claire dismissed the other girls and locked the door behind them.

"It will be nice to snitch. I mean imagine all the punishments that will come after my big revelation," She smiled.

Mila sat on her bed, she did not see any need to clarify the news.

"What will you gain by telling, Claire? Do you not think you should mind your business," She spoke.

Claire laughed.

"Save the speech for next time. I am going to tell my father who will in turn report this to the Society," She smiled.

Mila laid down.

"Suite yourself, but a word of advice, I am engaged to Vincent Delmont and he said to keep this a secret," She smiled widely knowing none one could disobey the boss or the successor.

Claire laughed.

"Just because he is your brother's friend does not give you the right to lie with his name."

"I am not lying and I am pure," Mila replied.

"Vincent agreed to marry you over the best girls? This is surreal. You have to prove it, where is the engagement ring?" She asked.

Mila took her hand to pick it up without looking. She realized it was not there.

"No, I dropped it here. It cannot be missing," She got up and check the table.

Claire laughed.

"If you are telling the truth, you might have misplaced the Delmont family ring, passed on from mother to wife," She spoke.

Mila got up.

"Please tell me you are joking," Mila paused.

"Joking? My older sister was dating Vincent once and he showed it to her. He carries it around, it is worth more than a million dollars," She told her.

Mila panicked.

"I have lost the Delmont family ring. I'm done for," She shook her head. "This is all your fault, you brought them in here, who knows who picked it up," Mila was angry.

Vincent was not going to forgive her for this one, she had misplaced his family's heirloom. She hit her head that was why he did not want her to take it off for any reason.

"I am done for. He will punish me," She cried out.

Claire left her there, she was going to tell her family that the Mila had been with other men before Vincent even when it was not true and she was also going to tell them that she'd lost the Delmont family heirloom.
