*Pew* *Pew* *Pew*
The snipers shot the zombies that got in their way.
"The path is clear. We are advancing to the destination location." Steven announced the situation upfront. He felt increasingly uneasy the longer he was near the forbidden zone, but he couldn't ignore Zayn's orders.
Because of that, he and all the other soldiers braced themselves and tried to finish their business here as quickly as possible.
"Strange zombies approaching at one o'clock. Sniper team, take them down and we'll be fine." Zayn told the situation around to avoid any ambush.
"Ghaa!" Several leggy zombies jumped from the top of the building, but the sniper team immediately rewarded them with headshots.
"Good, continue to advance. We are close." Zayn nodded in satisfaction. His inner eye was beneficial in situations like this.
A few minutes later, all the vehicles stopped near a warehouse. Zayn opened the lock with his little trick and went inside.
"!~" Angie was the most excited one. She hopped and was so cheerful when they arrived at the cheese cellar.
"This place... a metal forging workshop?" Rico muttered while checking the surroundings.
*Clack*
Zayn immediately went down to the cellar and opened the metal door's unique lock.
"Come here, get the barrels down there to our vehicles." Zayn beckoned for all the soldiers to follow him.
"???" The soldiers were curious about what material Zayn wanted to take from this place.
They split the grub in two. Four stood guards outside, and twenty came downstairs to do Zayn's orders.
The soldiers were soon surprised to find a secret underground storage room. There are many barrels filled with unknown materials.
"Quick, haul them all! We can't stay here too long." Steven shouted and immediately lifted a barrel. The weight is only about forty-six pounds, so he decided to carry two barrels up.
"..." The soldiers didn't ask much and loaded all the barrels onto the transport vehicles. Even Zayn's hummer is also used to transport those barrels.
After forty-five barrels were secured, Angie looked at the empty cheese cellar with satisfaction. She wouldn't come back here again since everything had already been plundered.
"Everything done? Hm, what about the locked room here and the room over there?" Rick saw that the shelves in the room were empty, so their task was considered done.
"The room over there is the weapons storage area, the display room. You can pick up a sword or a nice sharp weapon there if you want to. As for the locked room over there... It's a storage room for fermented fruit juice with an intoxicating effect. I don't need it and we can ignore that one. Let's go, our business is done here." Zayn shrugged his shoulders and walked away with Angie. Grisella just followed them silently from behind.
"What?" Steven was surprised when he heard Zayn's answer. He then cleared his throat and pointed to the empty room. "Ahem, Boss Zayn. Can you open that locked door too? We need to check what kind of fermented fruit juice you mean. It might be of use to us."
"OK, no problem." Zayn took a wire, then opened the door's unique lock.
*creak*
The door made a rattling noise. Steven and several soldiers entered that room and were pleasantly surprised. They could smell an intoxicating and delightful aroma.
"This is a winery! Yes, that's unmistakable. Holy shit, this room was a fine wine storage room." Steven rubbed his face and smiled broadly.
"Wine!? Fine wine!" Someone gasped with happiness.
"Can we take these barrels away too?"
"There are sixty-two barrels here."
"The previous material barrels are already taking up space because it's over forty."
"We can't leave with more than a hundred barrels. Our vehicles won't be able to carry them all."
"But, this is fine wine! I can judge it by the smell alone."
The soldiers were conflicted because they might only be able to take away a few barrels of wine because of Zayn's materials.
"Quickly get these good kinds of stuff to our vehicle. We'll see how much we can carry. Move, move!" Steven picked up a barrel of wine and went upstairs. He treated it carefully, unlike the previous material, because he knew it was filled with liquid.
"!!!" Soldiers rushed to take barrels of wine out to their vehicles.
"..." Zayn didn't comment when he saw the soldiers enthusiastic about the fermented fruit juice. Still, he went speechless when he saw some of their war vehicles getting barrels of armor.
The soldiers tied those fruit juice barrels to their vehicles.
"It would be much better if I brought my truck here. We can loot everything." Rick sighed sadly. They could only take twelve barrels of wine beside Zayn's barrels. So, they would abandon fifty barrels of wine here.
"We can come here another time if you still have the courage. Let's go now." Zayn climbs into his hummer.
"..." Grisella opened the passenger door, but she was soon at a loss for words. Her seat has been filled with barrels and large bags. She had no place to sit.
"Grisella, you sit in the front with Angie. Angie, you are fine with that, right?" Zayn waved his hand.
"..." Angie looked at the back seat and found they had no space left for another person. So, she just nodded with no objection because she felt sorry for that little girl.
"Good." Zayn smiled.
"Please excuse me." Grisella got into the co-pilot seat and sat next to Angie.
Thankfully, the seat was big and wide and could accommodate two people without problems.
*Vroom* *Vroom* *Vroom*
All vehicles rushed to leave the vicinity, heading to the northeast. It was already late afternoon, and they had to hurry away from the forbidden zone before the inevitable happened.
No one noticed that some mysterious existence had been watching Zayn's group for some time. However, they decided not to act because those humans didn't interest them.
Unfortunately, that only applies to those outside of City X. Several monsters already noticed a group of humans with noisy engines a few minutes ago. They were on their way to catch up to the noise source.
"Boss, how about we take the detour past Trenton and then straight to base? It's the same detour we used last week." Rico proposes a suggestion.
"That sounds good. Lead the way. However, I have a bad feeling somehow. Stay alert and check around periodically. I'm afraid we're being targeted again." Zayn gave his approval while rubbing the nape of his neck. He sensed a bad omen, but he was clueless about the reason.
"Roger that." Rico responded and then ended the call.
"!~" Angie took a big clean spoon, then prepared a big bag. Like what Zayn did last week, she brought lots of plastic sachets to store her cheese in handy packs.
"???" Grisella had no idea what this pretty big sister wanted to do, but she was bothered by the big bag.
"!~" Angie pried the barrel cover with her dagger, then spooned the cheese into a plastic sachet. She put the first package into a big bag.
"How about you help Angie, Grisella? You might not be ignored by her again if you need her help." Zayn glanced sideways and shook his head with a smile when he saw Angie couldn't wait to taste her cheese.
"En!" Grisella nodded in understanding. She offered her help to Angie with action, but she was stunned to see the mysterious materials they had taken from the danger zone turned out to be just cheese.
Even so, Grisella helped Angie wrap the cheese into a practical package and put it in a big bag. After one barrel was finished, Angie considered it was enough for now.
Angie took a bun, spread some cheese, and then ate it. She then distributed one to Grisella, then gave another one to Zayn.
"I'm good. I'm driving." Zayn raised his hand.
"???" Angie tilted her head slightly before pressing the cheese bun onto Zayn's mouth.
"You want to feed me? Well then, thank you." Zayn took a bite of that bun with a smile.
*Rumble!* *Cough*
A noise came from behind, startling Zayn, so he choked up. He immediately drank the water while glancing in the side mirror.
A giant lizard was chasing them from behind with impressive running speed. It immediately took all the soldiers by surprise.
*Bam!*
A high-rank zombie suddenly jumped out from the middle of the road, knocking down half of the overpass. Not finished, a giant eagle flew over from above, eyeing Zayn's entourage.
Several powerful monsters were already targeting them. Zayn gasped when he finally realized his previous bad feeling was confirmed.
