Chereads / WHAT IF I BECOME THE ENEMY / Chapter 36 - Die (1)

Chapter 36 - Die (1)

Just as Cyril set foot on the base of the fort, two wolves rushed towards him. One of them was trying to tear Cyril's shoulder and the other the thigh. He was able to deal with the monster that attacked his thigh, but he received a shoulder wound. It didn't matter that the pain kept him quite conscious and alert. It's just that the pain in his body felt familiar like Cyril had experienced exciting things many times. However, isn't that strange?

"DIE!" Cyril's feet satisfied as he plunged his sword into the black wolf.

The creature floundered, trying to attack Cyril again, and didn't move after that.

Other than the black beast bodies, some humans had lost their lives. Some wore fortress knight uniforms and others wore shadow warrior gear.

Cyril felt nauseous from the thick smell of blood. He had never discovered how much he hated fighting to such an extent. He had only seen it in feature films in his previous life, not experiencing it himself. "Damn it! I can not be like this!"

Cyril would be one of the corpses if he couldn't protect himself now. It also hasn't been able to escape because of the black beasts that haven't decreased much. He told himself to be patient a little more.

"If you had followed your role, then something like this wouldn't have happened!"

Cyril was startled by a voice that suddenly sounded behind him as he was trying to cut down the bird that had grabbed him from above. He turned around quickly, saw a man in a robe, and couldn't believe the resemblance they both had.

"Who are you?"

His heart pounded with fear. Surprisingly, the people around him were not aware of the existence of the man in a black robe and hood who looked like himself. Even the black beast that had been trying to grab or pounce on Cyril wasn't coming any closer now.

"Why are you doing this?"

"What?" Cyril did not understand.

"You should follow this tale properly!"

The more Cyril did not understand what was going on. He took a few steps back and drew his sword warily.

"Are you a demon? Why copy me?"

An explanation of the creature called a demon popped into Cyril's head instantly. That explains the fear it gets. That explained how the person in front of him looked the same as him.

The youth who looked like Cyril laughed. "You are the one who caused this to happen. I just finished what should have happened. Therefore Cyril, die peacefully!"

From the air around the man who looked like him sprang various objects that would kill Cyril--everything imaginable that had ever been seen.

Cyril was wide-eyed in disbelief. He tried to dodge swords, arrows, and spears as best he could. However, some hit it and it hurt. Cyril's blood dripped onto the ground, his consciousness fading. "You're crazy!" he said softly to the man who looked like him.

"This story will begin when you die, Cyril. Therefore, die!"

Where's that kid! Didn't he come down earlier?

While parrying, slashing, and kicking monsters that tried to pounce on him, Adelman combed the entire courtyard of the fort which contained people who were busy defending themselves. He saw Cyril running down the steps in the fortress wall after saving him with the fireball earlier. However, the young man disappeared quickly within the commotion.

"THE MONSTERS STARTED TO RETURN!"

Adelman turned to the screaming soldiers and watched the monsters start running out of the fortress. Even though they had not killed a third of them and had yet to find any of the black beasts' superiors.

"Keep KILLING THEM UNTIL EVERYONE IS OUT OF THE FORT! AS LONG AS THEY ARE STILL INSIDE, WE ARE NOT SAFE!" Adelman shouted his next order.

The screams that announced that the black beasts were starting to retreat fired up the people's spirits. So is Adelman's spirit. He swung the sword stronger than before to kill the black beast in one fell swoop.

Just then Cyril's body collapsed in front of him. There were many wounds on the young man's body, but it was a pity that they weren't the black beast's pounce. It was more like a sharp slash.

"CYRIL!" Adelman shouted in surprise.

He ran jumped and rushed to crouch next to Cyril. Two fingers checked the man's pulse. Luckily still throbbing. However, Cyril lost consciousness and there was too much blood there.

"DAMN IT!" Adelman cursed in annoyance.

He should have forced Cyril to come with His Highness the Crown Prince. That way this won't happen. Some so many people died in the black beast's rampage this time. Adelman had even known before the beasts entered. However, he did not expect that the one who would die was Cyril.

He saw one of the knight captains under his command. He shouted at the man who seemed to be supporting his representative. The two people approached Adelman immediately.

"Yes, General?"

"Stay here! Make sure the child is still breathing! You guys heard! Make sure he keeps breathing!" he cried giving orders.

The knight captain he assigned looked down at the body that was slumped on the ground. Her eyes widened. He sat his vice on the ground and crouched beside the propped body. Behind him, the body looked up to the sky.

"Morris, press the wound in the stomach!"

Morris the man who sat down because his leg was injured in the battle, turned his head, received the cloth he took from where, and pressed the large wound in the unconscious knight's stomach. "Where are you going, Clark?"

"Looking for the medical team! He will die if the bleeding is not stopped and there are many wounds on his body right now!"

Clark left Morris pressing the wound like a lead.

The black beasts that were trying to attack Adelman became less and less. He then plunged his sword into the ground and crouched back near Cyril. Adelman still thought that too much blood was flowing from Cyril's body. If there was someone here with assistive magic, surely the small wound on the young man's body could be healed. Just as Cyril could warp, wizards with healing abilities were also rare.

"What exactly happened to him?" Adelman muttered a question.
