Johan's body shook. The clothes that Johan had always kept neat and clean were shabby and dirty. It was as if the boy had rolled around somewhere before coming to this place. Not only that, there was something like a scratch on his cheek.
"What happened to you, Johan? Why are you here?"
The boy did not answer Cyril's question. He handed his master an envelope that looked hastily written.
For a moment he just stared at it in confusion. But General Adelman told him to take it immediately.
"Take it and I'll deal with Guren," he ordered. He motioned for Johan to come closer, and Guren began to line up with the general and Cyril.
Cyril followed the general's advice and took the letter that was handed to him. Meanwhile, Guren cast a simple spell to clean and treat Johan's small wound. He opened the envelope, which had been worn down by Johan's tight grip.
