Cyril didn't know where the basement was. He had already entered the tool shed in the main house. It was indeed the same cellar, but as the name suggested, the cellar must be underground. While the tool shed was on the right side of the house and was neatly locked because it contained artwork, chairs with old carvings, or porcelain that was a little worn at the edges.
"Where's the basement? I didn't even know it existed!"
The servant's head tilted to the right. "Did no one tell you about the cellar?"
He smiled and shook his head. "What is it for?" asked Cyril.
This time it was the butler's forehead that wrinkled. He lowered his head slightly in thought, then pointed to the building at the back of the field. "The warehouse is there. Its purpose is to store food such as potatoes, unpeeled wheat, and smoked meat. There are also barrels of expensive wine for parties. Would you like to see it?" the servant asked Cyril.
He nodded.
