The palace is surrounded by large tracts of uncultivated land. It extends from the east of the palace to the north. While the southern area is mostly the residence of royal officers such as advisors and prime ministers. The residents are on loan for as long as they serve as officers.
When they are no longer in office, the residence is returned to the kingdom. And the king is free to give it to another officer.
In the eastern part of the palace, which is dominated by dense trees, there are several old buildings that were the resting place of the royal family in ancient times. One of the largest buildings had long been used as a dormitory for aspiring court knights.
