Jason went forward and hugged him
"Shawn,what are you doing here?"
Shawn hugged him back
"I am happy to see you too "
They hugged for a while before moving apart
"it's so good to see you"Jason said excited
"wow! am touched"
Jason chuckled "you should be. How have you been?"
"As you can see ,am fine and handsome as always"
"And you still haven't changed"
"I will leave you boys to talk then"Mrs Smith said as she left
Jason took Shawn to his room
"what are you doing here?"Jason asked as they settled down
"vacation"
Jason narrowed his eyes "in the middle of the semester?"
"I took a sick leave"
"you don't look sick to me"
"ouch ,ouch my stomach hurts"he said pretending to be in pain
"Shawn?what did you do?"Jason asked accusingly
"oh come on dude, please give me a break. I just got here ,I will listen to your lectures later"
"sigh...ok but you will have to tell me later ok?"
"fine .so what's up?"
"like what?"
"you know?your love story?are you a couple now? when is the wedding?"
"we...we aren't...."
"no!!!, please no!!"
"what?"
"Don't tell me you haven't met her yet"
"I have met her but..."
"but what?"
"Don't be too shocked okay?"
"I will try"
"She is getting married"
Shawn remained quiet as he stared blankly at Jason
"you are kidding right?"
"No"
"what??!!!!!"he yelled which startled Jason"how can she do that?you stayed as a monk for so many years only to return and find out she is getting married?what is wrong with her?how...."
"hey calm down ,will you? it's not what your think.it's not her fault"
"Are you trying to defend her?,I get that maybe loss of communication might be hard but what about your promise?And isn't she a little too young to get
married?does she really love the guy that much?"
"She doesn't love him"
"Then why is she getting married?"
gosh this was going to be a long day
"it's an arranged marriage.Her parents did that to be ahead of us since we are rivals now ,so getting married to an influential family can give them an edge over us"
"That still happens?what era are we in ,the 80's ?."
"it still happens and she doesn't have a choice.she can't just go against her family "
"oh I see, good thing you explained .but what happened,I thought you said your families were friends "
"we were . I don't know what happened,I have asked but no one told me anything"
"wow, this is....such a twist. How are you coping?"
"Am fine"he replied with a smile"Enough about me already ,have mom showed you your room?"
"Am not staying here"
"why?do you have somewhere else to stay?I didn't know you have relatives here"
"I don't have relatives here, I am actually staying in a hotel until I find a ..."
"No way ,you can't"Jason said with a frown not liking the idea
"I will be fine , it's only till I find a place to stay"
"I said no, you are staying with me . How can you stay in a hotel when you can live here?"
"I don't want to bother you"
"you have been doing that all my life so am used to it"
Shawn smiled"I guess I have but I also want to start something on my own ,you know ,learn to be independent"
"you can do that here"
"please try to understand,I really want to do this on my own"
Jason hesitated for a while"fine ,I will think about it but I really don't like this idea"
"I know,thank you dad"he said with a smile
"Don't thank me yet ,I haven't agreed"
"yes sir"
Jason chuckled"Have you had something to eat?'
"yes,miss T fed me to the point I thought I would die from over eating"
"she tends to be a little too generous with her welcome"
Just then some one barged in
"hey hottie I..."thena stopped when her gaze fell on Shawn"OMG ,what do we have here?"
"you could at least knock and say good Afternoon"Jason said
Thena walked in ignoring his comment and Shawn got up extending his hands for a handshake
"you must be Athena"
"do you have a knack for guessing names?"she accepted his hand
"only of a beautiful goddess ,your aura is impossible to miss"
"can I know the name of the angel infront of me?"
