Chapter 20 - A Hard Choice

Wilson visited his brothers place often over the last couple of weeks. It was approximately three weeks since his brother had taken in the boy and since then, nothing significant had really happened, everything was almost normal and he had decided to pay them visits during the day. He lived with nobody and couldn't deny the fact that he felt lonely at times.

The boy was acting more freely than he was the first week he arrived here and even though seeing him angered his spirit, he chose to believe in his brothers words that everything was going to be okay and things had been okay for the time being.

Ashley had been receiving tutoring from King anytime he visited to check up on their Trump card and she had improved considerably compared to how she always passed out because of too much voices in her head. Nobody blamed her, she was still new to this and with time, she might even surpass King.

Justin on the other hand had been very much supportive and everyone had gotten really fond of him. He wasn't the paranoid angry man he was in the beginning and even though he never got along with the new kid, he didn't let it get in the way of his interactions with others. His beef was with the Guild boy and not with anyone else.

Justin sat with Wilson watching as King did his best to teach Ashley how to broaden her abilities while James discussed with Charles at the far end of the open field. He had returned to work a few days earlier and Wilson always escorted him as a bodyguard and they'd grown closer to each other. He understood more about the Advocates and the Satan's Guild and was just learning that their rivalry didn't start with his grandparents.

From what Wilson hd told him, the Satan's Guild used to be part of the church who specialized in demonology and things of the underworld during the early seventeenth century. They learnt about the evils of hell and how to conquer and vanquish it and were doing their work so well that they almost rid the earth of its evil forces. And this was a great factor in the cleansing of the dark era.

Everything was going fine until one of the priest's had decided to go rogue. He had secretly began his own rituals and communication with the underworld, slaying children and women to offer to the mother of demons Lilith, who in turn granted him supernatural abilities that helped him in his activities on earth. It wasn't long before he gained followers whoms lust for power and wealth had pushed them to this ugly lifestyle.

When the church had learnt of this, they had waged an all out war against the members of this newly developed Guild which the church named the Satan's Guild because of their evil. The ongoing fight was not in the favor of the church since the Guild members had extraordinary prowess which made their victory almost assured. Running out of options, the church had pulled out their final weapon, the blood of Christ. One drop of the blood in a pool was enough to grant ten people gifts that they were on par with the Guild's and even stronger. The process of this power granting was termed the baptism and was still known as that up till this very moment.

After they had assumed their victory, the church had broken out a faction which they named the Advocates. These were the men who survived the war and were still gifted. They were named the Advocates because the church believed that the holy spirit dwelled in them. As time went by and the Guild resurfaced, the Advocates had gone to war again but this time without the church who by this time decided that they didn't want any part in bloodshed or killings or anything war related and with this, they broke apart from the Advocates.

He was just learning that the issue about of his grandfather and granduncle only added fuel to an already existing flame and wasn't the pioneers of the existing rivalry. The Advocates were the counter for the Guild right from time.

After hearing what Wilson had told him, his desire to end whatever the Guild was scheming and this war had grown the more. He couldn't imagine how many thousands had lost their lives since this madness had started, how many innocent women and children had been sacrificed just so soome selfish people could gain their selfish desires. The Guild's motive disgusted him and his hatred towards every Guild member had grown even more.

He didn't want to do this at first, but he was left with no choice. For him to truly find a way to defeat and stop the Guild for real, he has to do it, he has to join the Advocates.
