Chapter 77 - Morning Sleepy Head

Ghost shot awake, sitting up in bed, his arms and legs bandaged. He sighed realizing it was a dream, a vision of the past, but a dream nonetheless. Clarity was laying next to him, her arms wrapped around him. He smiled as she stirred awake.

"Morning."

"Hey, look who's awake! Feeling better?"

"Yes, my heads a bit fog, had an odd dream."

"Yea, LQ said you were mumbling something about Ottawa."

"Geez, I must have been bad."

"Overworked yourself idiot." said LQ interrupting.

"I couldn't just stand there and let them do kill you."

"True, made one hell of an entrance though."

"Not to cut you off, but what smells good?"

"Ah, Kay is making breakfast, said since we have the next few weeks off, might as well act like a proper family. Mick's out on business and Kip hasn't left his room, something about giving up gay or something about no dating? I don't know, the kid's screwed up."

The three head to the kitchen where Kay was dishing up breakfast, eggs, bacon, and juice. Kip decided to join them as they ate.

"Food's great Kay. Thank you for the meal." said the Ghost

"Ya, ya, just eat, you need your strength anyways." she replied.

"Food's good sis." started Kip

"Aye, get out of your mood, we don't need it at our table dope."

Kip got up and left, slamming his door.

Kay shook her head when the Ghost spoke up.

"What's up with him?"

"He's pissed he ain't getting recognized for shit he been doing to impress some idiot."

The Ghost nodded and went back to eating his eggs.

LQ took his plate to the sink then went into his office and talked to Cayle. Everyone had disperse, each with their own goals as they had time off. The Ghost walked the building, checking on his various projects, knowing full well, he'd caused them plenty of stress.

He went into the bathroom and took a long look in the mirror, he sighed as he rinsed his hands. Everyone had a purpose for being in this time and place, everyone except him, stolen from his time, his hometown, everything he'd known was gone, all his friends and family were dead. Those who'd ended his world, ruined the lives of so many were killed by his hands. Still nothing changed.

He was a lost soul in a sea of wayward souls, drifting with the current trying to make sense of his life now. The Ghost stood next to the F4U Corsair, both of them were long past their expected life spans, each had fought to save something, neither were remembered by the general public.
