Chapter 100: The fate of the giants
As Luna was making her way towards the entrance of the castle, she was hearing all of the commotions. When she was almost reaching the doors leading to the outside of the castle, she heard the sound of a loud explosion accompanied by a string light and a wave of wind.
After leaving through the doors, she saw a group of people taking cover behind a transfigured short wall and looking towards the other side of the castle bridge.
A single figure with long black hair was standing there. She recognized him immediately even from that distance.
"Harry!" Luna started running towards him but was stopped by a familiar woman.
"Luna, stop!. Is too dangerous to approach now!" Amelia said while grabbing the girl and holding her.
Luna seem to regain her wits and realized that Harry was not the only one in that area. A large group of giants was staring at Him some distance away, and there were groups of people dressed all in black further away.
"Why is He alone there? why is no one helping him?" Luna looked infuriated.
"Helping him? You did not see what He just did…, but you are not wrong. " Amelia turned to her Aurors.
"I want you to give Mister Potter some cover fire, but maintain the distance."
The Aurors nodded and took positions further into the bridge.
"Stay here with Minerva, I'm going too," Amelia said.
McGonagall grabbed Luna's hand and brought her behind her makeshift wall.
"I would like to tell you to go back inside. But You wouldn't listen to me, right?"
Luna shook her head. "I need to be here."
"Sigh…very well, but stay close to me." McGonagall looked toward Harry.
"I have so many questions for Mister Potter. Like what happened to Albus, or where did He learn that magic…but that will have to wait until we all survive this battle."
Luna looked at Harry and used her mage sight. It wasn't as blinding as before and wild as before, now it looked more in control.
Luna didn't know why or how, but She knew that Harry's magic has changed, it wasn't just more powerful, but there was something else in there, something that wasn't there before.
Harry's magic had always felt wild and aggressive even when He was controlling it. Now...it felt calmer and peaceful, although still dangerous.
Luna of course wished to know what had brought that change, but She will not push Harry for information. She trusted him and knew that one day, He will trust her with his secrets.

Voldemorts camp
"What the hell was that!. He killed all of the trolls with one spell." McNair said with a very paled face.
"Enough!" Voldemort roared.
"Yes, He is powerful, but He is only one wizard! Let him exhaust his magic fighting the giants, then we finish it."
"Yeah!. That's right, My Lord!" Gibbon exclaimed.
Voldemort approached Mordred, the leader of the vampires.
"Mordred, I want you and your vampires to be ready. If Potter by some miracle managed to deal with the giants, You go finish it. Is that clear?."
Mordred was staring intently at Harry without blinking, his eyes shone with blue light.
"Lord Mordred. The Dark Lord is talking to you." Mordred's second in command, grabbed his shoulder to shake him up from the trance.
Mordred seem to come back to his senses and looked at Voldemort.
"Yes?" He said to Voldemort, showing him no respect. As far as Mordred was concerned, Voldemort was just his business partner. They had a deal that benefited both, nothing more.
Voldemort frowned.
"I said. That if Potter manages to deal with the giants. You and your vampires go and finish Him. Think You can manage that?" Voldemort said, clearly annoyed.
"Finish him…sure," Mordred said softly.
Voldemort nodded, satisfied that at least the vampire seem to have gotten the message and left.
The second in command approached Mordred after Voldemort was far away.
"My Lord? what did you see?" He asked with concern.
"I'm not sure yet… Let's wait and observe him a bit more, Ill make my decision by then."
What Voldemort didn't know about Mordred is that He had been born with the same gift as Lunas, mage sight. And what He has seen so far about Harry had left him very unsettled.

"D-do we still attack?" The giant asked their leader.
Krull was very worried now, but He could not show weakness in front of his followers.
"Y-yes. We attack!. Kill the puny human!" He yelled to his people.
They all gave a war cry and started charging again as fast as they could.
Harry was looking at an army of a hundred giants approach and was now wondering how to deal with them.
'I suppose that some transfiguration will do the trick.' He thought.
He knelt down and placed both his hands touching the dirt. The giants were now around sixty feet away.
As he focused his magic, his eyes shone brightly and the wind around him seem to react to his magic.
When the front line of the giants was only twenty feet away, the earth started to shake violently, startling everyone.
The first thing that they all noticed were the screams that the giants were making, followed by them being tossed into the air.
But on a closer inspection, the observers realized what Harry had done.
Thousands of very sharp metal spikes were created underground and shot up in the sky at great speed, impaling any giant that happened to be in the way.
A few lucky ones, less than a dozen, managed to avoid all of the spikes and stood there, looking in horror at the fate of their comrades.
As for the unlucky ones, most of them were still alive. The spikes were not clean shaped like a needle, instead, they had many smaller points, arranged at intervals along the main body, like barbed wire.
The moment one was pierced, it would be impossible to get out as gravity will keep pushing you down while the small points destroy you from inside.
The screams from the giants filled the battleground and it would take several minutes for them to die down.

Mordred was looking at the fate of the giants with an impassive expression.
He then called for his second in command.
"My Lord?, what do we do?."
Mordred did not take his eyes off Harry for a second before answering.
"We are leaving."
