Chapter 94: The duel

A stunning spell flew past Harry's head but before He could reply, He noticed Dumbledore making a wand move while pointing at the floor.

'Annoying.' Harry thought.

He jumped out of the way as the wooden floor came to life and tried to trap Him.

He then made a pushing motion towards the Headmaster. A strong wave of wind crashed against the old man, pushing him backward, but managed to stay on his feet.

Harry took out his wand from the holster.

"Oh?. Are you ready to finally use your wand? Tom." Dumbledore was trying to provoke him.

Harry ignored him and just pointed his wand at Dumbledore.

"Exsolvo Horribilis"

A sickly yellow sphere came rushing towards his opponent.

Dumbledore knew that protecting against this with a shield may not work, instead, He used a chain of summoning charms, putting all of the closes by pieces of furniture in the way of the spell.

The yellow sphere exploded the moment it made contact with a table, the liquid inside splashed all over the place.

A sizzling noise was heard, as everything that made contact with the yellow liquid started to dissolve.

"Quite the nasty curse," Dumbledore said in disgust.

"Come now. I'm sure you have a lot of nasty spells in your arsenal too. But you refuse to use them." Harry said with a mocking smile.

"I will not lower myself to use any of that dark magic." Was Dumbledore's answer.

"Magic is magic, dark or light is just an Illusion created by fools. There is only power and those too weak to seek it." Harry said with a serious expression while looking Dumbledore directly in the eyes.

Dumbledore looked back at him for a moment before shaking his head. "We will never agree on that, Tom."

He took a recipient from his tunic and smashed it on the floor. A silvery-white liquid that resembled metal splashed all over the parquet.

Harry made a surprised expression, clearly not recognizing that substance. But He was not just going to stand there and let the old man finish whatever He was doing.

"Glacius" White vapor shoot from Harry's wand and traveled quickly in the direction of the Headmaster.

Dumbledore covered himself with a shield charm. The liquid on the floor was covered by the freezing spell but remained in liquid form afterward.

"What is that? it doesn't freeze?" Harry said, not expecting an answer.

"You will see soon enough." Dumbledore pointed his wand upwards.

"Mutatio"

The ceiling started to move and the big wooden pieces that held the roof changed into rope-like shapes and shoot toward Harry.

"Celeritas Meliorem." Harry's muscles tensed up at the change. With his speed multiplied tenfold, He managed to dodge all of the ropes and fired back spells to destroy them.

What He did not notice was the silver liquid on the floor was expanding rapidly and approaching Him in all directions.

Once He was done, destroying all of the transfigurated wood, He sensed an attack coming from behind, He moved to dodge it and saw the white liquid shoot past Him.

The liquid moved in an irregular pattern and attacked when it saw an opening, it was almost like…

"Is alive?" Harry was surprised.

Dumbledore looked at Him and smiled.

"So be it, then." Harry pointed his wand at the bulk of the liquid that kept growing.

"AvadaKeda-"

Before He could finish, some of the silver liquid that has been hidden under the wooden floor, shoot up and covered his hand and wand.

"Argg."

Harrys face contorted in pain. But the liquid did not give him any rest, instead, it took the opportunity to launch an all-out attack.

It started from his legs and started to cover all of his body until it reached his face.

Harry looked to be filled with pain and fear. "Stop!"

But the liquid did not stop and covered him completely.

"Silver Ooze. It is the final result of my latest alchemy research…it took me decades to finish it. I'm afraid that there is no way out once you are swallowed by it…I'm sorry it had to come to this, Tom…but You had to be stopped." Dumbledore said sadly.

He then noticed the Ooze started to move again. Dumbledore's expression changed to one of surprise.

'He shouldn't be able to move in there, what's going on?.' He thought.

What came next truly shocked the old Headmaster.

The Ooze started to disperse again on the floor, like how it was at the beginning. When it finished dispersing, Dumbledore realize that Harry was nowhere to be seen.

"What?!, Impossible. There is no way to escape, I'm sure of it." Dumbledore exclaimed.

He then felt a strong wave of pain coming from his left side and heard something falling to the floor.

Dumbledore looked at the ground, only to observe in horror his left hand, lying on the ground, still clutching his wand.

The pain got now more intense and his blood started to flood out of his stump, but before He could even find out what happened or cover his wound, several white chains that seemed to be made of light, wrap themselves around his body, making Him lose his balance and fall to the ground.

"Ugg" Dumbledore grunted in pain.

"Don't worry, I will not let you bleed out. I need you alive for what's coming next." Dumbledore heard a very familiar voice come from behind him.

He tried to move his head to look at the speaker, but He could not move an inch.

"How did you get behind me?..."

Harry chuckled. "Why, I have been sitting behind you for quite a while, old man."

Dumbledore opened his eyes wide at the realization. He had been fighting an illusion, but that would mean…

"You got into my mind. When?"

Harry knew that Dumbledore was just trying to gain time. The silvery liquid was slowly moving towards him. He was not planning to give him a chance.

"We can continue this conversation later." Harry pointed his wand at the Headmaster.

"Nooo!"

"Stupefy '' When Harry said the words, a strong blue light came from his wand and quickly impacted Dumbledore, making him lose consciousness and paralyzing him.

As soon as the old man went down, the Ooze stopped moving. Harry had the feeling that this creature needed to be linked to Dumbledore to move and it seem like He was right.

"Well, if that didn't work, I would have to grab the old man and run away."

Harry approached Dumbledore and smiled.

"I have waited for too long, but it is finally time."
