Chapter 92: Meetings

Harry entered the Headmaster's office and was greeted by Dumbledore.

"Harry, I'm glad you came."

The Headmaster looked very tired, had black rings under his eyes, and was clutching at his right hand.

Harry noted at the old man. "Headmaster."

"Take a seat Harry, there are some serious matters we must discuss."

Harry took a seat and waited to see what the old man had to say.

"mmm, where do we start… Let see. As you might have known since your encounter with Mister Goyle in your second year, Voldemort is back in power. He has been lying down and plotting his revenge for quite some time, but I have reasons to believe that He is planning something big, and is going to happen very soon." Dumbledore said.

"Shouldn't we leave that to the Aurors to deal with? After all, He is just a criminal." Harry wasn't sure why the Headmaster wanted to suddenly involve him in this, but He had the feeling that the old man was trying to manipulate him.

"Alas…if only it was that simple. Normally, I would not involve a student in this, of course. However, You are not a normal student. Have you never wondered why Voldemort went after your family in particular?." Dumbledore seems to be giving Harry an appraising look.

"Not really sir. I read about the war and many families were targeted back then, not just mine. Susan for example lost everyone except for her aunt." Harry wondered where Dumbledore was going with this.

"Yes, what happened to the Bones was an awful tragedy. But, your family was the only one that Voldemort attacked personally."

The Headmaster took a pause and exhaled his breath before continuing. It seems like the next topic of conversation is something that He didn't really want to talk about.

"Before you were born, Harry, there was a prophecy. It went like this. 'The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches…Born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies…and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not…and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives…The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies.'. Those were the exact words. "

Harry was left in silence.

'So that's what the full prophecy says…Severus only managed to acquire the first half. But…shouldn't be already complete?. Harry Potter has already vanquished Voldemort, at least in a literal sense. My old body was destroyed and my soul was absorbed into a new body. Or maybe I am now destined to fight as Harry Potter with the one who now carries my name…this is going to give me a headache, I hate prophecies!.'

Dumbledore was carefully observing Harry's reaction.

"What do you think about this?" He asked.

"So, you are saying that this prophecy is the reason for Him coming after me? How did He even learn about this? " Dumbledore seems to pay close attention to everything He says, so He needs to be mindful of the way he answers.

"That is indeed the reason, but He only knows the first half of the prophecy. As for how…well, I'm ashamed to say that I was unable to detect the intrusion of one of Voldemort's spies who managed to hear part of the prophecy." Dumbledore said.

'Well, can't blame you on that one…Snape was very good at sneaking around.' Harry thought.

"I see…and, what am I supposed to do?. You don't expect me to rush into battle with Voldemort, right?"

Dumbledore seems to be taken aback for a second.

"Of course not!." He took a moment to calm down."Sorry…there is still a lot that you need to learn before considering facing Voldemort. We will need to have more of these sessions, I hope You don't mind but are going to be very crucial for You. " Dumbledore smiled.

'Tsk, like I have a choice.' He thought bitterly.

"Of course not, Headmaster. I would be foolish if I didn't want to learn from such an experience wizard." Harry smiled back.

"Wonderful, we can meet again next week. I'll have everything prepared by then." The Headmaster said.

—-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

During the next weeks, the Headmaster would call Harry several times.

In his next session, He revealed information about Voldemort's past, like his real name and where He grew up. The Headmaster also shared many memories in his pensive.

Dumbledore seem to think that all of this would be very helpful to Harry, but in reality, it was just annoying to him to remember all of that stuff.

In their third session, He revealed that He was dying from a curse left in an object by Voldemort.

He then went on to explain the existence of Horcruxes and how Voldemort had made several of them.

"You must promise not to share this knowledge with anyone, Harry. The existence of that terrible magic must be kept a secret. This is of utmost importance." Dumbledore said with a grave expression.

"I understand, Headmaster," Harry said.

—-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After every meeting with the Headmaster, Harry came to the Room of Requirements to blow up some steam.

After losing count of how many wooden dummies he blew up, Harry heard the sound of the door open. There were only three people who could enter when He was inside.

"Luna?, is a bit late to be going around the halls," Harry said when He saw the blonde girl enter the room. There were only around twenty minutes to curfew.

"Well, it took me a while to find you," Luna said while approaching Harry.

Harry used an scourgify to clean all the sweat and grim off him and looked at Luna.

"Was there something you needed?"

"Not really, we haven't seen much lately. And you spent a lot of time with the Headmaster now." Luna pouted.

Harry smiled.

"Sorry about that"

"You still won't tell me what those meetings are about?." Luna asked.

"The Headmaster made me promise not to tell. At least for now." He said.

In reality, He didn't care about any promise He made to the old man. He just didn't want Luna involved in that particular mess.

Harry saw Luna making a sad expression, so He decided to offer her something.

"Well, tomorrow is Saturday. Why don't we go to Hogsmeade?."

"Just the two of us?" Luna asked while tilting her head to one side.

Harry nodded.

Luna made a squeal of joy and hugged Harry.

They haven't really made their relationship clear since they shared that kiss at the end of the Yule ball. But neither of them seems to be in a hurry to put any labels on themselves. They are just happy to spend time together for the moment.
