Chapter 47

Discoveries

Harry had to spend one more night at the hospital at the insistence of Madame Pomfrey.

The next morning, before he was released, Susan and Hannah came to see him.

"Harry!" Hannah runs to his side and starts hugging him before He can say anything.

Susan tried to stop her, to no avail. "Hannah stop! He may still be hurt. "

"No need to worry, I am completely fine. It wasn't that serious. Madam Pomfrey likes to exaggerate. " Harry pointed out.

Hannah let him go after a few seconds.

"Harry, you were amazing!. The entire school is talking about how you killed the basilisk!" Hannah comments excitedly.

"Yes, but the rumors are getting a bit ridiculous... I mean…he wasn't shooting lightning bolts out of his eyes." Susan rolled her eyes.

"No, but he was still incredible. I couldn't believe it when that giant sword came from nowhere making that shun sound and killed the basilisk like it was nothing."

Hannah raised her hands in the air for more emphasis.

"Yeah…that was a very scary moment…" Susan looked at Harry directly. "Thank you for saving us by the way. " Shen then smiled.

"No problem," Harry said.

"You have missed a lot in these three days, Harry, we need to catch you up to speed later," Hannah comments excitedly.

Miss Pomfrey approached the bed and performed one last check on Harr before releasing him in time for breakfast.

They encountered Luna, waiting for them rigth outside the infirmary.

"Luna! Were you waiting for us? Why didn't you come inside." Hannah asked.

"Madam Pomfrey didn't want more people bothering her patients, but she told me that Harry was going to be discharged this morning, so I waited." Luna looked at Hary. "Hungry?"

Harry gave her a soft smile. "Starving. Let's go."

When they entered the great hall, the entire place when almost quiet all of a sudden, and Harry could feel that all eyes were on him. He was already used to being the center of attention but it has never been this bad before.

'I guess that's what I get for performing a good deed. I hope this doesn't last long.'

Harry ignored the whispers and fingers pointed at him and tried to have a peaceful breakfast.

That afternoon, the Headmasters office

Snape placed a book on top of Dumbledore's desk.

It was a very gruesome-looking book. The cover was completely black, made of some unknown leather and there were several small eyes all around the cover. Even the pages did not seem to be made of normal paper and were a lot darker than normal, making the reading more difficult.

"So, I take it that you found it then," Dumbledore said while looking at the book.

He then opened one of his drawers and took out the damaged tiara that was found on Goyle's body.

"It was not easy to obtain…but yes. It's all in that book." Snape took a seat and observed the object closely before continuing.

"Is part of a set of three objects made by a dark Italian witch named Sentenza who specialize in the mind arts back in the 1600s.

That book was written by one of her disciples and details many of the cursed objects she made. The tiara, in particular, was called 'The puppeteer's crown' and allows the user to control the victim who wears that tiara like…you know, like a puppet. Think of it like a temporary possession that can be done from a great distance."

"That is a scary object, my friend." Dumbledore looked at the tiara with disgust and then continued.

"And the one using it was Voldemort."

"If we are to believe Potter's statement then yes. We have no concrete evidence that He is back, aside from my mark getting darker." Snape said bitterly.

"I do not doubt that young Harry was telling the truth. Besides, Voldemort may be the only person in the world with the knowledge and skills to open the Chamber of secrets. We are lucky that Harry noticed the suspicious behavior of Mr. Goyle and decided to follow him inside the chamber. He saved many lives that day."

Snape made an angry expression and muttered something.

The next day was Saturday and Harry had a meeting with Griphook and the other goblins who were going to visit Hogwarts to negotiate about the basilisk.

The beast was still laying on the floor of the broken library after the sword that Harry made disappeared, so everyone was in a hurry to get rid of the beast so they can start to repair the library.

According to Susan, they managed to recover the librarian's body and gave her a proper burial, but other than that, the basilisk has been left untouched.

The Headmaster removed the protections He placed on the library's entrance, to make sure that no student tried to enter and take a look at the scary snake. All the professors were sure that at least the Weasly twins have tried to enter more than once.

Once inside, the goblins stared in awe at the dead beast.

"That's the biggest one I have ever seen," One of the goblins said.

"Of course, this is the oldest one that ever existed, almost a thousand years I believe." Another goblin said.

Griphook looked at Harry and said.

"Mister Potter, according to the arrangement. After the evaluation is completed and the basilisk is taken to Gringotts. We are to deposit in The Potter main vault, half of the galleons and the other half will go to the Hogwarts vault. Is that correct?."

"Yes, correct." Harry made sure that no one was close by and cast a mild silencing charm.

Griphook was surprised for a moment by the use of wandless magic but calmed himself down quickly.

"I also want two vials of the basilisk blood and half a vial of the venom. You can discount those materials for my half. And place them in my trust vault." Harry said softly.

"Mister Potter, those materials are controlled substances according to your Ministery and you require a license to acquire them." Griphook gave him a knowing look.

Harry wanted to roll his eyes. "You can have a thousand galleons for yourself...for your services."

Griphook gave him a wide smile. "Leave everything to me, Mister Potter."
