Chapter 4
The visitor
31 July 1991
It was a peaceful Wednesday on Privet Drive. On the number four house on the street, a gray owl could be seen perched on the mailbox, looking towards the house, like he was waiting for something.
Inside the house, in the biggest bedroom of the second floor, there was a boy sleeping. The bedroom was beautifully decorated, with lavish furniture and a king-sized bed that could fit three adults comfortably.
Suddenly a soft knock on the door is heard.
"Harry, wake up. Breakfast is ready." A very polite Petunia said before turning around and going back downstairs.
Harry opened his eyes slowly and removed himself from the bed. He has changed a lot in the last six years. Although he can still be considered a bit short for his age his body is no longer scrawny. His hair has grown quite long and now reaches almost the middle of his back. The scar on his forehead is merely a thin white line that can barely be seen unless you were looking for it. And he no longer needs glasses, something that seemed to be a side effect of losing the scar.
After getting dressed and tying his hair in a low ponytail. He went downstairs.
His relatives were waiting for him at the table since they were not allowed to eat before him.
After sitting down his aunt placed a plate with two eggs, three slices of bacon and a bagel in front of him.
"Good morning Harry, ohh and happy birthday" Petunia managed to make some resemblance of a smile while saying that and gave a look at her husband.
"Eh ohh …yes happy birthday. We can eat now right?" Vernon managed to get out.
Dudley didn't say anything and started eating. He is always very quiet around Harry, just in case he says the wrong thing, which he usually does.
A sound was heard at the front door. It was the sound of the mail slot opening and closing.
Petunia quickly stood up and went to get the mail. When she came back, she was carrying a big envelope with a red wax seal.
She went to Harry's side and said.
"Harry, I believe this is the letter you were waiting for." She then carefully put the envelope on the table.
He took the envelope and opened it. Inside there were two letters. One informs him that he has been accepted into Hogwarts, and another one lists a great number of items he will need to bring.
'Finally, I have been patiently waiting for the time when i can rejoin the magical world. One of the teachers should arrive in a few days and take me to Diagon Alley. After that, I can start my plans.'
For the last six years, Harry has stayed away from the magical world. He knew Dumbledore had put monitoring charms on his persona. Fortunately, they were just mere tracking charms to reveal his general location and nothing more but still prevented him from moving as he wished. He could not gain the attention of the old man too soon, for it would raise questions he could not answer at the moment.
At least he was able to practice his magic at home. After doing some modification to the blood wards he managed to create a magic concealing ward powerful enough so neither the ministry nor Dumbledore would detect the flimsiest amount of magic being used here, as long as he did not go overboard.
That addition came with a heavy increase in the maintenance cost. Fortunately, it was Petunia, the one currently linked to the wards. At this rate, she may not live more than a few years. But that was a sacrifice Harry was willing to make, he has seen their deepest thoughts, the things they had done to him when he was a defenseless child, and what they were planning for his future. Even with his low expectations on muggles, the Dursleys disgust him. But he needs them...for now.
He was able to practice his wandless magic to the point that he could cast most of his spell repertoire with no wand. Aside from the spells that require the most finesse control, like complex transfigurations and of course apparition. Trying to apparate without the extra control of a wand is just asking to lose some limbs, even for someone like him. However, his wandless skills have far surpassed the ones from his previous life.
His control and power is also growing every day with no sign of stopping, even tho he still carries the magical binds.
'There will be a chance to remove them soon.'
His thoughts were interrupted by a nervous Petunia.
"So, are you going to attend that school then?"
He merely looked at her for a moment and said ."Yes".
"Ohh, i-i see" She tried to hide her relief…unsuccessfully.
Harry folded the letter and put it in his pocket. Gave a glance to his relatives and said "In a few days, someone from Hogwarts will visit in order to take to me to Diagon Alley."
Vernon placed down his fork "W-what …no ..no. I will not have one of those in m-"
"Silencio" Harry said while looking at Vernon.
Vernon tried to keep speaking but was not able to. He brought his hands to his mouth like that would help identify the problem. He then realized what happened and looked at his nephew with fear and anger.
Harry just looked at him with a stern glare "YOU will behave like a polite civilized man. You two will also mention nothing about what happens in this house. As far as they are concerned we are a perfectly normal family. If you try anything, I can assure you that you will not like the consequences. Are we clear?."
They both nodded at that.
"Good. Now I have things to do. Do not bother me. Ohh and the spell will wear off in an hour or so." He turned around and left to his room.

Three days later, on Saturday morning, right after they finish having breakfast, the doorbell rang.
Petunia and Vernon were in the kitchen. Harry was on the couch reading a book and Dudley was quietly watching TV.
"There is someone at the door. " Dudley pointed.
"Well, go see who it is then '' Harry lifted his eyes from his book for a moment to look at Dudley. He didn't need to be told twice and quickly went to open the door.
After he did so, his voice could be heard from the entrance "T-the-re is! The-the is a -a-"
"Ohh for crying out loud Dudley, use words!" Harry was losing his patience.
"A G-GIANT! A GIANT!" Dudley yelled and started running towards the kitchen.
Petunia and Vernon came to see what all the yelling was about. Harry also stood up to see who this giant was.
When he looked towards the door and saw a very tall man with a big beard and rugged robes he realized who it was. He was surprised and very much offended. 'Of all the people from Hogwarts they sent me Hagrid?'
