Chapter 9 - Chapter 6 Fire-Toothed Dog

Soon, the Fire-Toothed Dog disappeared under the light of the Star Array.

In Qiao Sang's mind, a page of the Beast Taming Codex suddenly lit up, and an image of the Fire-Toothed Dog appeared on it, lifelike.

At the same time, in a blank section of the Beast Taming Codex.

[Name: Fire-Toothed Dog]

[Attribute: Fire]

[Level: Beginner (63/1000)+]

[Skills: Bite Hold (Beginner 73/100)+, Fierce Collision (Expert 133/500)+, Flame Tooth (Beginner 1/100)+]

[Points: 0]

A few simple and easy-to-understand lines clearly appeared in front of Qiao Sang.

Qiao Sang was stunned.

Did the Beast Taming Codex introduce these things?

It hadn't, right?

She remembered that the Beast Taming Codex's only functions were to make a contract and to provide a space for Pet Beasts; it never had anything like a system interface.

But Qiao Sang wasn't so sure about her memory, since the original owner was a poor student with many blind spots in knowledge.

However... this might really be the Golden Finger!

Everything had to wait until she left this place to be verified.

Qiao Sang suppressed her excitement and formed the summoning hand seal.

The next second, a white Star Array appeared on the ground, stars gathered around it, and an excited Fire-Toothed Dog materialized.

"Yah!"

The Fire-Toothed Dog barked at Qiao Sang.

Due to the contract, Qiao Sang easily understood her Pet Beast's meaning.

It wanted to try entering the Beast Taming Codex again.

Qiao Sang smiled fondly and formed the hand seal to take back the Fire-Toothed Dog.

No sooner had it gone in than the Fire-Toothed Dog was calling to come out again from within the Beast Taming Codex.

Qiao Sang complied without hesitation, and as soon as the Fire-Toothed Dog emerged, it happily wagged its red tail.

"Yah!"

Qiao Sang smiled and took it back again.

The next moment she released it.

The Fire-Toothed Dog blinked its black eyes.

"Yah!"

Qiao Sang's smile stiffened slightly, and after a pause, she still took it back into the Beast Taming Codex.

Waiting until the Fire-Toothed Dog came out again, it looked at Qiao Sang with eyes full of anticipation.

"Yah!"

It still wanted to play!

Qiao Sang: "..."

When Ye Xiangting came back, what she saw was her daughter making seals with a numb face, alternately putting away and releasing the Fire-Toothed Dog.

Ye Xiangting asked in confusion, "Sang Sang, what are you doing?"

Qiao Sang, expressionless, replied, "I'm playing."

...

...

When Qiao Sang left the Hangkang Pet Beast Base, she didn't go straight home but made a trip to the Hangkang Beast Taming Center.

According to Alliance regulations, all Pet Beasts contracted by Beast Tamers must be registered at the Beast Taming Center within seven working days.

In this era, you couldn't just take a contracted Pet Beast home to raise with ease; first, you had to register it officially, or else it would be unregistered.

Human-inhabited cities forbid wild Extraordinary Creatures from entering; if you don't register them and they get discovered, they'll be taken away by the patrol department as wild Extraordinary Creatures.

Attacks on humans by wild extraordinary creatures are not a strange occurrence; on the contrary, every now and then, the news reports incidents of humans being attacked by such creatures.

To ensure the safety of humans, especially those whose brain domains have not awakened, the Alliance has prohibited the presence of wild extraordinary creatures within cities.

However, extraordinary creatures vary in species, each mastering mysterious supernatural powers. Those like the beast-type creatures are easier to spot and therefore to find.

But for creatures like elves and ghosts, they can easily go unseen if they hide.

Consequently, the Alliance established a patrol department specifically to deal with these matters.

From the Hangkang Pet Beast Base to her home, turning a corner would take her to the Hangkang Beast Taming Center; it was conveniently on the way.

Right at that corner turn was where her mother, who rode on Faith Weng, had gone ahead, claiming she had something to do and left behind the plump homing pigeon for her to ride.

By the time Qiao Sang arrived at the Hangkang Beast Taming Center, it was already 11:32 am, and there were only 28 minutes left until the Center closed.

This kind of information registration was not like the singular window service for brain domain checks; instead, there were a full 16 windows available for registration.

Qiao Sang took a number and then found a place to sit.

The plump homing pigeon stood quietly by her side, keeping watch, while the Fire-Toothed Dog she held in her arms looked around with its eyes, clearly curious about the surroundings.

"06556, please come to window number 12."

"06556, please come to window number 12."

Qiao Sang looked down at the number she held, 06557, and then at the time, 11:52 am.

It seemed like it wouldn't be her turn that morning.

"06557, please come to window number 12."

It appeared that 06556 didn't proceed, and they called Qiao Sang's number instead.

Qiao Sang promptly stood up, holding the Fire-Toothed Dog, it looked like she was in luck today.

When she arrived at window number 12, she was greeted by a young man with a buzz cut.

"Hello, what can I help you with?"

Qiao Sang pulled out her information card from her pocket and handed it over, "I'm here to register a Pet Beast."

The buzz cut young man took the information card and placed it on the scanner; after looking at it for a while, he said, "Hello, it shows here that you are not a Beast Tamer, therefore you cannot register a Pet Beast."

Qiao Sang was taken aback and said, "Then let's register as a Beast Tamer first."

The buzz cut young man said, "Please show your brain domain certification."

It was Qiao Sang's first time registering as a Beast Tamer, and she didn't know that brain domain certification was required.

"I didn't bring it," she said helplessly.

Then she lifted the Fire-Toothed Dog in her hands, "Doesn't this prove that I am a Beast Tamer?"

The buzz cut young man silently glanced at the time on the computer; it was 11:58 am. He replied, "No."

"Why?" Qiao Sang asked, puzzled.

"Are you done yet, if you don't have all your stuff, hurry up and make way," an impatient female voice sounded from behind her.

Qiao Sang turned around and saw a girl in the uniform of Beast Taming High School standing behind her.

The girl glanced at Qiao Sang; she had a pair of slender, upturned eyes that easily made people uncomfortable when she looked down on them.

Seeing Qiao Sang didn't speak, the girl stepped past her and handed over her number, "I'm 06556, right before her. Handle mine first, I need to update my Pet Beast's information."

Qiao Sang frowned and stood up to give way, although the girl's attitude was annoying, Qiao Sang indeed didn't have complete documentation.

The buzz cut young man declined the girl, saying, "We reassign numbers if someone skips."

He then returned the information card to Qiao Sang, "Beast Tamers require proof with a photo for registration."

The time was exactly 12 o'clock; the buzz cut young man turned the sign at his window around, smiled, and said, "We're off now, you can come back in the afternoon." Having said that, he left his post.

Neither of them managed to get their business done, but Qiao Sang didn't really mind, as this was only something she thought of because it was on her way.

But the high school girl's face fell, "It's all because of you; if not for you, my things would have been handled already."

Qiao Sang stood up to leave.

A hand blocked her, "Hey, didn't you hear me talking to you?"

Qiao Sang looked confused, glancing around before asking, "Are you talking to me?"

"Is there anyone else here?" the girl with upturned eyes widened them in disbelief.

Passerby A and Passerby B at that moment quietly passed by them.
