Chapter 1 - ~Prologue~

It was dark outside the window of my quarters. What would you expect to see through your window in deep space? Fortunately, we were expecting to approach the Outer edge of the Andromeda Galaxy very soon. As I stood in my quarters, staring into the darkness, the owner of the ship called 'Ascension' called me through the internal ship communications system. Paul was alerting me that we were approaching very soon, and that I should head to the bridge immediately.

You see, I wanted to be present on this historic occasion. This was the first time anyone from the Milky Way Galaxy would purposefully enter this galaxy, and intend to stay . . . indefinitely. This was also the first time anyone from my adopted home galaxy would set out to map the area and actually explore it . . . successfully . . . I hoped we would be successful, anyway.

I had hope I'd have more luck with my personal mission here as well. You see, no one knows my true identity, even myself. I was found some time ago wandering on a paradise of a planet in the Milky Way Galaxy with no personal memory. After some time proving myself in Earth's exploration/military service, I eventually earned command of my own vessel, and proceeded to bring together many warring factions against a common enemy. However, in spite of my numerous successes, I still never recovered my previous memories, and still found no lead on my past or even my species.

Outwardly, I look Human. I also FEEL Human, but that's probably just from spending so much time with them. That's essentially where the similarities end though. I'm slightly stronger, more resilient to toxins, poisons, and radiation and I've even found myself spontaneously "teleporting" myself, for lack of a better term. That became quite embarrassing on occasion, especially when I disappeared in my sleep & appeared unconscious, with no clothes on, in a female crew member's quarters . . . over her . . . while she slept. Once I awoke, I fell on top of her. We were both quite startled, but that's a story for another time. For now, it's time to head to the bridge, and get this journey underway.
