Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Derry’s Missing Girl

RING RING!

I shook my head for a second, my mind almost booting up from a long shutdown. I flickered my eyes open, and letting out a long and nerving groan. I told my mom to remind me to take my alarm clock out of my room on the weekends. I rose my head uncomfortable, looking around for my clock. It was to my left, and I hovered my left hand over the alarm clock shoving it down, the ringer stopped and I felt like I could return to my sleep...but I remember exactly what I did on these days...I sighed before I sat up and rubbed my shoulders, my T-shirt laid long on the ground and I felt my legs hit some fabric, which was my pajamas and a slight hint of my blanket. I took a long and brutal inhale before swerving my body out of my bed, I couldn't tell you exactly how I felt on that day. Maybe I felt stupid or sluggish, Jesus how the hell would I know? My feet slammed against the floor making a normal creaking sound, I was somewhat glad my parents didn't wake up from that little sound, my body shivered mildly from the fact the A.C was practically making my nipples icicles. I walked over to my drawer, grabbed underwear, a T-shirt, and some jean shorts, battling whether to join my friends on this day, my thought ended as I turned towards my calendar, and my mind read the words shown on the calendar, Today marked May 20th, and the year 1987. I slowly scraped the side of my head with my nails, as I exited my room.

The one thing about my parents was how they made the house colors so...weird, one part of the house could've been blue and another purple, and then suddenly the outside could've been green but for Christ's sake, I did like it at first but Jamie was laughing his ass off at the color pattern for a moment while I stood there dumbfounded at exactly why he was laughing at it. I crept into the hallway making my way to the bathroom, the tiles had a dark shade of blue and purple. Though a long slant line of yellow marked itself from one corner to another. I looked in the mirror that sat close to the non-legged sink, my hair was golden blonde, my eyes were a baby blue, and not forgetting that my hair was very messy, I hated having to comb this THING every morning. Though I liked my hair to be more of a middle part, it made my hair look even and of course, no one would've noticed that, I could never make my hair as big as Andrew's Curly Jews, I smirked as I grabbed my tall and sturdy comb before latching it onto my hair and swiped it down, I repeated the action as my hair slowly became straight, enough that it was straight than a gay guy.

I slowly pulled down my pants and removed my underwear before hopping into the shower, I always had a habit of going into to shower before it warmed up but I needed a cold shower on this day, I twisted the handle and yelped lightly

"Shit!"

The coldness made the hairs on my body stand quickly and I felt the water crawl deeply into my skin and my hair becoming wet, the shower lasted for at least a good 20 minutes but I don't keep the time I shower, that is kinda weird. I gradually laid my feet on the tiles before pulling a towel and rubbing it around my body and such, I then grabbed my deodorant and rubbed it under my pits, I hopped on one foot trying to pull up my pants and holding my shirt as I went into the hallway, my jean shorts made it on but my shirt was having problems, I leaped into my kitchen, the one thing odd about my kitchen was the fact it was a bright cyan and tiles were on the floor but no... abnormal colors, in my house there was a walkway into the living room, my couch sat near a lengthy wall and a glass table sat in the inside of these two chairs, one was reclinable ( Ya'know, the chairs that have those things that come out when you pull a lever or something). I walked calmly towards the 25-inch T.V that was at the end of the glass table. My dad always watched this stuff but my mom yelled at him once for not turning it off, and to be honest...it didn't work, the T.V was on the news channel, as a boy myself, I kinda liked the news channel, maybe because it shows all the stuff in town or the fact so many kids were going missing that this stuff had to be the main channel, I saw a news reporter talk about.....well something, I didn't exactly hear what was going on.

Though he seemed to smack his ear before stating something to the camera, I inched closer as he said,

" Breaking news, I just got a report of a missing child in Derry, Derry Maine. She has been missing since May 9th and her name is Jane Green, she was last seen near Brooklyn Lane where Derry Middle School is."

The reporter then said a number but I avoided the whole thing, I saw a picture of her face, some people said she looked close to a baby with short hair at her top, she had a nice smile and her low hair was wavey. I couldn't deny she wasn't an ugly individual. I gave long look before the shot of her face disappeared into nothingness, She went to my school and she was always hanging around that weird girl, Jamie said she looked like a witch or something, I kindly agreed with him at some point but in reality, she probably was minding her own business when the disappearance happened. I always wondered how these kids go missing. Do they just die while playing or on the road or do they die in the summer heat, man I would've died in the heat too if I were them too. My body stood up as I ran back into my room for a second and ran through my drawer for socks, I usually wore extremely long ones, Andrew would ask me if I was playing football because of how long the socks were, though today I wore some socks that were to my ankle, I closed my drawer. Walking into the kitchen looking for the loft of bread, I was thinking about making some toast that morning. Something light, and tasty, my eyes pulled themselves to the bread, and as I snatched it and placed two pieces into the toaster. My body felt the warmth of the radiation that slowly overtook the toaster and the bread, a clicking sound(that was pretty loud I might add) compelled me to leap, my parents always say the more you grow the more you don't jump to the toaster but I truly think that's a lie, I saw the bread, it's texture looked roughly hard though there weren't any burn marks.

I stepped over to the fridge, my arm pushed it open and I saw everyday foods, Butter, Mayo, Ketchup, Eggs, Ham, and Cheese. Well you know all the stuff that's usually in a fridge, my hand fastened around the butter and I rubbed it on my bread, I did a ton for some reason, I was a lover of butter! I grumbled a curse word under my breath as the burning made my hand feel loads of pain, but I carried it gingerly. I pushed the door out of my house with force, I noticed my bike laying in the grass, I shoved a piece of toast in my mouth while I grabbed the handles of my bike and ran to the street, I lived on Neil Bolt Street(or St.) I hopped on my bike and made forward with my legs lifting on the pedals and my toast cooling down from the fierce breeze.
