With their eyes shut and Elena trusting her friend not to kill her in a bad landing, in less than five seconds they felt themselves bouncing on a fluffy surface, the whole place was quiet as they uncovered their eyes to behold Aires' room. "That was fast" Elena commented, "Yes, but might be late for what we came for, hurry let's go" Aires said in a flash, jumping out of the bed athletically and racing towards the door knob. As she turned it clockwise with Elena by her side, the door flung open to a surprising battle they could not involve in due to the magical arc wall that separated their side of the house and the battle ground, Aires' living room.
The old fairy stood in the center of the dimly-lit room, her wings flickering with an otherworldly light. Across from her was Vanessa, the shapeshifter, looming, her body contorted and twisted by the malevolent demon that possessed her, yes she too had been possessed. The creature's eyes burned with an unearthly fire, and it let out a guttural growl as it prepared to attack the fairy.
The old fairy was no stranger to battle, and she stood her ground, her hands glowing with magical energy. She knew that she had to banish the demon and save the shapeshifter, no matter what the cost.
The two clashed, the old fairy summoning a bolt of lightning to send crashing towards the shapeshifter. The creature roared in pain and rage, its body shifting and contorting as it tried to dodge the attack. But the old fairy was quick, and she expertly parried the shapeshifter's counterattacks, using her magic to keep the creature at bay.
Despite her age, the old fairy was a formidable opponent, and she fought with all the skill and strength at her command. But the demon was powerful, and it was taking all of her magic and cunning to keep it at bay. Sweat beaded on her brow as she conjured another bolt of lightning, sending it hurtling towards the shapeshifter.
The creature howled in pain, and for a moment, the old fairy thought that she had won. But then, with a burst of energy, the shapeshifter broke free of her spell and lunged towards her, its teeth bared and its claws extended. The old fairy braced herself for the attack knowing that this could be the end. The extended claws, pierced through her chest, forcing her to a halt. Finally, a life well lived over a hundred years was a couple of seconds away from getting a peaceful rest among its ancestors.
Just as the shapeshifter was about to strike again, a beam of golden light shot down from the sky through a portal that opened in the roof, enveloping the creature in its glow as Aires screamed loudly in agony, holding the arc that held her back. The arc tore itself apart, probably an indication that the magic that brought it to life was no more, Elena stretched out her hands and cuffed the demon with a white a cuff made not of steal but a fiction of her imagination as the demon separated itself from Vanessa, letting out a final, ear-piercing scream.
The shapeshifter collapsed to the ground, her body returning to its natural form. The old fairy approached her cautiously, her magic at the ready in case the demon had somehow managed to leave a piece of itself in the poor teenager. But as she drew closer, she saw that Vanessa was peaceful, her eyes closed gently in sleep, but the person left to worry about was herself.
Breathing a sigh of relief, then she knelt down beside Vanessa, her heart filled with gratitude and joy. She had saved this noble being from a terrible fate, and for that, she knew that she would always be remembered as a hero.
Aires ran down the stairs and held her to her chest, covering her bleeding sides to prevent her from losing anymore blood. Aires' mother, whom just like Aires and Elena, had been held outside of the arc and forced to watch the battle, came running towards two with a bucket half filled with water and a white towel to clean the Fairy's wound. The fairy smiled at their willingness to keep her alive when Aires knowing very well that this was meant to happen. "At last...we met" The Reformer managed to let out upon her struggle to talk "I'm glad that... I met your daughter" "Please save your breathe, I'm grateful that you saved my life, let us help you" Aires' mother replied, as she tried her best to tear the part of the garment marked with claws. Aires kept whispering healing spells upon healing spells, with the hope that a miracle would force the wound to seal, but each try was unsuccessful as the last that came before it. The Reformer held her hands and whispered to her "It's not worth it, my time is here, there's nothing I can do" "But there's always a way" Aires cried at her, "I'm growing tired over here " Elena who was still holding the hideous creature captive, called out to them, "If I don't go, everything I've ever done and taught you will be worthless" The fairy advised "the resting place is now yours, it's not as easy as you think or see it to be, but knowing you, I believe you can handle the heat. I will be with you each step of the way, certainly not in flesh but..." "But I want you here with me... Is that too difficult to understand" Aires interrupted "Listen to me Chosen One" The Reformer summoned her attention, squeezing her hands in hers "my work is finished." Shifting her gaze upward, her whole body began to give off an immense glow "As I wished" she continued "may so be done when I'm a goner" she gave out a deep breathe and her grip on Aires' loosened, her beautiful pink lips were left slightly apart, then a tiny ball of light came out of it and quickly slipped into Aires' mouth. An epiphragm as thick as the wax of a candle slithered all-over the eyes Fairy, preventing anyone from being able to see them. Her glowing body eventually exploded into millions of tiny flying yet glowing insects which all disappeared into thin air.
Aires felt a strange force take over her body, amidst the teary eyes and shirt wet with salty tears from the lost of the one person around whom the there was no reason to be sorrowful, she walked over to Elena's captive, then a frown took over her countenance, her eyes began to glow blueish, the first time something like that had happened to her, she stamped her feet and growled with a scowl over her face, then a ring of fire appeared with the creature standing in its epicenter. Aires began to voice out the spell that she used to drown the first demon that had possessed Jason, then the boiling clouds of smoke appeared, accompanied by terrifying roars of souls and beings trapped in the abyss. The demon submitted itself without struggle and drowned into the abyss, for it could do nothing while cuffed by Elena. Aires' mother had her mouth wide opened and could not believe what she was seeing, for Aires however, she turned around in the direction of waking Vanessa and with all her anger, she telepathically lifted her up and smashed her into the couch, screaming "It's all your fault" Elena stood there confused but wishing she knew what you do to stop her best friend. Aires stretched her hand at Vanessa again, this time, the force dragged Vanessa towards her in midair slowly, "That's enough Aires" Aires' ordered " No Mom, someone's gotta pay for her death and it's going to be her!" Aires barked at her mother and furiously grabbed Vanessa neck and commenced squeezing it "Stop it!" her mother screamed again "No!" She retorted, just then Elena who had had enough came up from behind her and held her in position for a mind control "I order you to stop" she commanded Aires, immediately she released her hostage and her blue eyes returned to its normal brown state, "Yes Ma'am" Aires responded to the order from Elena whom still holding her, caused her to fall into a deep sleep while on her feet, then with her telepathy, she dragged the couch towards Aires and released her to fall. Aires'mother rushed to check up on her daughter, overwhelmed with the thought that her little girl was dead due to her motionlessness "She's only resting" Elena explained, "Let's hope she comes to her senses when she wakes up" Vanessa prayed, dragging herself towards the bucket of water "a little help?" She said to Elena who giggled and walked over to pick her up.
