Chapter 12 - 12 Call me sister

...

Olivia seemed to be in a daze as the Bugatti sped off once she and Shawn had settled in comfortably. At this point, she was tempted to believe this car was some rocket with its fucking speed. "So, what's going to happen?," She felt a wave of nausea hit her and jolted as the car tailed down to a stop.

A lady entered just then, her hand ladled with quite a lot. If not that the lady looked to be at least familiar with her surroundings, Olivia would have been tempted to believe that she was some sort of intruder.

"Hello, I'm Phoenix White," Phee's smile made her eyes disappear into thin lines. She was ecstatic to be the first to personally get to meet Shawn's beloved girlfriend. "His sister, obviously. Fuck, you are just so beautiful. Leaves me wondering how he ever managed to score a gem such as."

"Are you here to blab?," Shawn's face was about to be ridden with dark lines at her annoyingly teasing tone. Wasn't he a gem himself? Why was this pixie talking like Olivia was scoring herself a loss by being affiliated with him in such a manner.

"Sorry. Sorry," Phoenix immediately brought out her make-up kit, glad she had dabbled in this. If not, just who would it have been that'd have the honor of being introduced to her sister-in-law first. "Your face is already so pretty. Some light touch-up should suffice."

"Oh, alright," Olivia gave a polite smile and calmed down when she saw the genuine light in her eyes. She was being sincere if the fact that she was speaking in a factual manner was anything to go by. If it was anybody else, she may not have bothered with them as per her arrogant persona.

But this was Shawn's sister. And one of the parties she was meant to be pretending to so it was all worth it in the end. "Thanks Phoenix," She continued amicably. Calling her Miss White would be too awkward and pet names were obviously too soon.

"That's just so much bull," Phoenix stopped her chattering to mutter, brush moving in swift strokes over Olivia's face. "Just call me sister seeing as we're going to be family from now onwards anyway."

"Oh, okay," Olivia didn't understand why she suddenly felt warm and giddy all over at the thought of being accepted.

Shawn was also giving his sister a strange look. She hadn't even warmed up so swiftly towards Tavakha. It had taken a good eight months before she could speak to the woman without as much as grimacing.

The make-up at the hands of a world renowned expert like Phoenix and she was soon pushing Olivia into the adjoining part of the van so the woman could change.

His sister had sort of been his last resort seeing as all other workers in his industry's company were either too incompetent to bring out the best in Olivia or busy planning for some other schedule. It was fine this way though. Phoenix was good at this and more or less, the only person he really trusted with Olivia.

This protective feeling was rising again rather fast, darn it.

...

Olivia wasn't sure she could ever look that beautiful, really. Until she stepped in front of the full-length mirror. The dress was a bright burgundy red that flattered her olive skin all too well and would have made any other wearer look like absolute crap.

The material was bright and shiny, courtesy of the faint glitter and red rubies embedded in the length. She fleetingly wondered if they were real gems. Probably not since Shawn had said the dress he'd be getting would not be all that—meaning nothing too extravagant.

It was a rather pretty dress though.

The gown had spaghetti straps, that revealed a decent bit of cleavage, and hugged all of her curves tightly, emphasizing all of her bountiful assets perfectly.

It's formfitting nature stopped around her knees and gave way to become a sweeping mermaid tail that spread out all around her. Turning around to check her back view with the aid of the mirror, she discovered that the gown gave the grandest view of her bare back, highlighting her most treasured asset.

Her rather defined shoulder blades. They flaunted a grace and dignity that no amount of fake poise could pull off.

"Erm, sister-in-law?," Phoenix's back was drenched in cold sweat from the glower she felt Shawn was shooting at her back but didn't dare turn to check the full rage in his expression. What if she didn't like the colour or she'd pinpointed the wrong fit from her brother's descriptions? Shawn really was going to end up having her head. "Is it to your taste?"

"What do you think?", Olivia stepped out since she wasn't too sure herself. Maybe she'd just look tacky in the eyes of other people. Wasn't there a fact somewhere that how others viewed you was a thousand times worse than how you viewed yourself?

Phoenix gave her a vibrant thumbs up and promptly ushered her into a seat so she could style her hair prettily. Her shorn bob had started to grow out already and because of its fast speed, it was already curling to her mid back.

After using a straightener till each strand was straight and sleek, Phoenix packed the dark brown mass into the neatest low bun and let a few strands loose at her temples, curling them so she could achieve maximum effect.

"Is it any good?," Olivia glanced skeptically at Shawn's unmoving expression, not taking note of the fact that his cheeks had grown a shade darker due to the darker lightning within.

"Good," Shawn affirmed, gaze roving over her before riveting away shyly. He coughed into his fist to keep himself from grinning foolishly at how pretty he found her.

"We're here," Phoenix decided to be an angel for once in her life and pressed her lips together to keep herself from laughing and not call her dear brother out on his awkward state. He probably wouldn't forgive her if she mocking him so brutally. She seriously found this pair so cute.

"Alright then, I guess I'd see you both later," Olivia bid and picked the purse Phoenix had obtained for her to match her dress.

Under the eyes of the paparazzi, one leg slipped out of the prized Bugatti and then the other and soon the most dazzling face they'd ever seen entered into their peripherals.
