Alpha Azrael matched ahead of the humans towards the shadowy figure. His foster sister, April Herrington was beside him matching fearlessly beside him to confront the unknown figure.
Just as they stepped out, they came face to face with a maneater. This one was particularly freakishly tall. His gaze was murderous, loaded with killing intent.
Without warning, the maneater suddenly sped towards Azrael while opening its mouth wide.
With a very fierce tug at the sides of its mouth, the mouth of the maneater expanded like a stretched rubber band, his rows upon rows of long knife-like teeth stretched forth and bounced up and down as it got closer.
It focused on swallowing both April and Alpha Azrael at once.
As it got within touching distance, Azrael pushed April away at the nick of time so that only he was swallowed by the maneater while April fell on her butt and watched as how her foster brother was wholly swallowed.
"Aaahhhhhhh" She screamed as Ing, Martha and the others joined to witness the scene.
Alpha Azrael was in the belly of the maneater. The maneater stood on the same spot, unable to move.
Although the maneater had swallowed Alpha Azrael, it noticed that its toxic internal juices couldn't digest the latter.
Suddenly there was a fierce tug from within. The belly of the latter started to swell. It was pushed in all directions.
The protrusion started to increase as if it was being pumped with air.
The maneater felt an intense tug at its innards. The tug was so sharp and painful that it couldn't scream fast enough before the sound of a sharp tear rippled throughout the entire internal environment.
The entire stomach length of the maneater was split open and emerging from within was the pissed Alpha Azrael who had his claws and entire body drenched In blood and gut juices.
Alpha Azrael plunged his claws once more into the neck of the maneater before it could register what was going on, killing it on the spot.
Slowly, the maneater fell lifelessly.
Alpha Azrael stood ramrod with his muscles bulging as a show of defiance, the undying show of will, and the dominance of an alpha.
He turned and started to walk away, searching for where he could clean the immense blood and gut juices on his body.
He didn't walk far before a group of six maneaters started to converge towards his location. The humans got behind him in fear as they watched the intimidating group approach.
The maneaters licked their lips with their long tongues in anticipation of food, but Alpha Azrael remained composed as if he was going to take them all on.
"Get me a weapon..." Alpha Azrael spoke for the first time.
The others looked around wondering what they could possibly get him that would be able to cause significant damage to these maneaters.
Alpha Azrael remained calm as he watched the 6 get closer.
Just in time, April brought an iron rod the average length of an entire arm. She placed it on his right hand and Alpha Azrael gripped it, feeling the density of such material.
He nodded briefly at his foster sister acknowledging her act, and he then faced the group of 6.
He was angry, tired, and hungry and also in need of a bath, so he was over the edge at the moment.
Before he could act, he noticed that April was suddenly under attack by yet another maneater that appeared behind him. The other humans were scared by the sudden appearance of another maneater.
Alpha Azrael faced the one behind him quickly and rushed at it before it could attack April. He suddenly jumped and plunged the iron rod in his hand deep inside the skull of the maneater, killing him instantly.
The iron rod was protruding out of the area that was supposed to serve as a neck for the maneater.
It wasn't a cursed maneater so like the others, it died rather quickly.
Alpha Azrael pulled out the iron rod after that and turned to face the 6 who were both scared and a bit apprehensive.
They haven't met such resistance before who was so bold as to kill one of them right in front of the others.
They were skeptical about attacking after seeing how easily he dispatched one of their colleagues.
"Who is next... act fast, I have things to do..." Alpha Azrael barked. The confidence in his voice was sky-high.
At this point, the other werewolf who witnessed the scene had slowly started to form a line of safety behind Alpha Azrael with a few humans that managed to survive.
By the time Alpha Azrael would glance back to check on his foster sister, he noticed that a crowd was starting to form behind him.
His strength speaks volumes and the confidence he has shown had attracted a crowd that gathered behind him. They wanted a leader and with his ability and confidence, he simply fits the role.
More and more people started to rush in and in front of him were more maneaters gathering, beyond the actual 6 that first gathered.
He wanted to speak but he couldn't think of what to say. He couldn't exactly tell them to leave his back, if he could, he wouldn't mind protecting them, after all, they were all pawns in the game of revenge between the Elders and the maneaters.
Alpha only had his eye on April, that was the only person that mattered to him as of the present moment.
At this moment, the leader of the maneaters rushed in to see who was causing all the ruckus, that was when he saw Alpha Azrael and how the humans and werewolves gathered behind him.
"You're not the werewolf king, how come you gave off such strong vibes...? who are you...?" He asked in confusion as he kept staring at Alpha Azrael.
"Did you come to ask a million questions or to meet your death like that dude over there...?" Alpha Azrael pointed to the dead maneater as he spoke.
The leader looked in that direction at the dead maneater with a gaping hole in the center of his head and couldn't help but wonder what to say.
Suddenly a realization washed over him as he keot staring at Alpha Azrael. "You must be the next King... the one the prophecy didn't elaborate on... If my guess is correct, your mother must be one hell of a powerful witch..." the maneater let out with a croaky voice and a shocked expression as he stared at Alpha Azrael.
Alpha Azrael was also staring back in confusion, "What prophecy...?"
