The Chief Policeman was holding his broken arm. He couldn't even gather his thoughts let alone go on the offensive.
The remaining Policemen held their guns but fear kept them from launching any attack.
Azrael stood there, growling like a tiger about to pounce, and Alex was directly behind him.
Suddenly, a man walked in with the coolness and composure of a king. He had a dark shade on his face and an expensive-looking tobacco in his mouth.
The other policemen created a space for him to pass through and started to kowtow to him one after the other.
"Monsignor..." The policemen chanted in unison, in reference to the man.
The man stretched his hand out to one of the policemen beside him without saying a word. The Policeman got the message and immediately handed his gun over to the man by placing it on his open palm.
The man referred to by the title 'Monsignor', took the gun and aimed it at Azrael.
"kpuffffff" a bullet was sent out and lodged in the skull of Azrael.
Azrael's eyes went from relaxed to shocked.
"Kpufff... Kpuffffff"
Another two bullets followed the first one and headed straight at the skull of Azrael.
"Nooooooooo" Alex screamed as she watched Azrael go to the ground in slow motion.
He fell face flat and was out.
No one could tell if he was dead or just out cold. He was bleeding out on the ground like a faulty faucet.
Alex crouched beside him unable to control her tears. Her eyes reddened quickly as she started to shake Azrael vigorously.
"You can't go like that... you can't live me here..." Alex was shouting while shaking the body of Azrael.
The man titled 'Monsignor' walked close to Alex and took a few seconds to admire her. "Throw the thrash out and lock her in a cell..." The man commanded.
He referred to Azrael as trash while instructing Alex to be placed in a cell. Alex tried to struggle but was knocked out by some policemen who dragged her body and threw it in a cell.
Azrael was dragged outside as if he was the content of a trash bin, and was thrown into the streets.
The clouds gathered and rain started preparing to fall.
The wind blew continuously and vigorously. Dust was gathered in the air and a mini-whirling tornado was formed.
Azrael's body was out in the cold and pellets of raindrops had started to hit hard on him.
Azrael's body was slowly rolled across the street through the musky path.
Back in the Chadwas Police station and Bureaucracy...
Alex lay on the ground unconscious when the cell was suddenly opened.
The man titled 'Monsignor', walked in majestically as if he owned the wall and snapped his fingers.
Almost immediately, two policemen entered with a chair and they placed it at his thighs and went back out.
"Wake her up..." He commanded and took his seat.
The two policemen came back inside and ran towards Alex, then slapped and tried to wake her up and after a couple of hits, she jolted awake.
The two policemen held her in front of the man titled 'Monsignor' and waited for his next instruction.
"You're beautiful, and I desire you, you have two options, it's either you come to me freely or I take you by force, and believe me, the second option is much worse than you think..." The man spoke with a deep bass tone.
Alex spat at his face and tried to resist the policemen holding her.
The Policeman to the left raised his hand and smacked Alex hard with the back of his hand. The hit stung so hard that it even caused Alex to bruise a gum, and her teeth were soaked with blood.
The man titled 'Monsignor' slowly cleaned the sputum that Alex unleashed on him and looked at her with a smile.
"Your boyfriend is dead by now believe me. So no one is going to save me, and if you want me to prove it to you, I will..." The man said while watching Alex in a scrutinizing manner.
Alex didn't say a word but her expression proved that she didn't believe that Azrael was dead.
The man titled Monsignor tapped his fingers, "Bring me the gun..." He instructed some other policemen who were behind him.
"Yes, Monsignor.." The Policeman receiving the instruction bowed and rushed off to get the gun and returned shortly.
He went forward and stretched forth the gun with two hands.
The man titled 'Monsignor' took the gun and corked it.
"This gun has an accuracy that trumps those of common origin or standard issue guns. The bullets are made with wolves' bane. An Alpha wolf would die after a couple of hours if shot with this weapon. Your boyfriend seems to be a new wolf and he is also a lone wolf. How long do you think such an omega wolf would last?" The man asked with a crooked smile.
"Do you know why they call me Monsignor? It's not because I'm a priest or anything like that, no, actually, I once killed a werewolf pretending to be a priest, my shot was so accurate from almost 80 yards out."
"The other priests were so impressed and happy with me and thought of ways to compensate me. It was then that one of them bestowed me with the title, 'The Monsignor of werewolf killers'"
"I've killed beast much fiercer than your boyfriend. He is no threat at all, dispatching him was akin to slicing bread, it was no trouble at all..." The man titled 'Monsignor' smiled when he noticed that his words were having the intended effect on Alex.
Alex's hands were shaking as the possibility of the death of Azrael was starting to scare her.
"You killed him... you killed him you bastard..." Alex shouted while sobbing simultaneously. Her emotions were all over the place.
"So, since you know now that your boyfriend is dead, do my bidding and don't suffer unnecessarily." The man titled 'Monsignor' added while smiling.
"I will be joining you soon, my lover..." Alex spoke to the air as if she was talking to Azrael while looking away and ignoring the man titled 'Monsignor'.
"You're starting to get on my nerves..." Monsignor said as he suddenly frowned at Alex.
