As she made her adjustments in the chair, Scarlett sighed. "So you feel it is wrong if you talk to your friends first?"
"I can't do that. They made me mad. They ratted me out." Since she hadn't spoken to Cornelia or Avery in four days, Raven had grown to enjoy their estrangement.
"They were helping you, Scarlett."
Scarlett sighed. "I thought we were best friends. I thought they would want to follow my lead."
"They are your best friends, but they don't always have to do as you say. Best friends are people who correct you when you try to make the wrong move. Perhaps Cornelia and Avery observed your attempt to make a mistake. Why would you want to listen in on your mother's conversations and follow her around?"
"Because she is cheating on my dad."
