Avery closed the door to Scarlett's room behind her. As she moved towards the hall, she took her phone out and placed a call to Mace. "Scarlett has been found," she said.
"Really? How is she? What happened? Where was she found?"
"Easy with the questions." Avery sighed. "The hospital called us and told us about it. Scarlett isn't really doing well, even though she looked okay. She will be discharged tomorrow."
"That is good then. I really have so much to ask her. Please let me know when she…"
Avery interrupted. "You won't be able to see her in the meantime."
"Why not? Doesn't she want to see me? She has to tell me what really went wrong and where she was for the past 11 days when she went missing."
Avery took a deep breath. It's better she tells him now rather than arguing with himself about why Scarlett won't talk to or see him. "It isn't Scarlett's choice, Mace. I mean, she won't even be able to tell you."
"Why not? We are all confused here."
