Mace handed a bottle of orange juice to Lisa before taking a seat next to her. "Why didn't you tell me that you were back? I mean, it's been three days."
"I have been busy with things, and I wanted to surprise you."
"So you did that at the hospital?"
Lisa chuckled. "I didn't have a choice. Besides, I wanted to see the alpha." She opened the cover of the bottle and drank some juice. As she took her mouth from it, she turned to face Mace. "You should take the position." She said.
"I can't." Mace leaned in and rested his two hands on his legs.
"Why not? You will be a great leader."
He turned to face her and sighed. "It isn't about becoming a good leader. I am a gamma. A gamma doesn't take the position of an alpha. His job is to coordinate the soldiers."
"So what are you saying?"
"We have to find a beta and.."
Mace's words made Lisa begin to laugh. "Anton? Seriously?"
"Adolpha."
"That is even worse."
