Chapter 518 - Applications

A few days later, Wesley finished decorating the room himself. The colors were mainly black and white, which was his favorite color combination, and red was specially used to embellish, adding a hint of life to the room as a whole.

Kayla looked at Wesley's room in amazement. "Are you a designer?"

"It was just a pawn." Wesley used to let Apple design more, but this time he came himself.

"That's amazing. I want to renovate the house myself," Kayla said enviously.

"Anytime. You're so strong, we can do it in a few days. You can stay with me first. Of course, I mean to lend you a sofa or a tent."

Kayla wasn't afraid Wesley was up to anything. She was strong. "I'll think about it! But are you going to apply for a job?"

"That's right. Now I need a job to support myself. Although I have enough savings, I don't like to stay. People need to keep doing things so that it's interesting to live, right?"

"That's right. We have to do something. Let's set off together tomorrow morning!"

"No problem. You can take me to familiarize me with the route. Otherwise, I might need to take the afternoon to find Kark Media Group."

Wesley applied for a press interview with Cark Media Group in front of the newly installed computer. He followed Kayla the next day and took the subway. Today he was wearing a formal suit, which was required for the interview, while carrying his resume.

Kayla's first job at work began when she got off the subway. She bought a latte for Miss Kate Grant, and Wesley naturally treated her to one as well, along with breakfast. Finally, the two of them entered the Cark Media Group building and went all the way to the office area.

"Take a seat outside for a while. Miss Kate Grant is very picky and doesn't allow any mistakes. I'll call you when she comes. Drink your coffee first, but don't bring your coffee in later," Kayla told Wesley, then turned and walked in. The glass partition was the office area, and Wesley sat on the leather bench outside and slowly tasted the coffee.

It didn't take long before the private elevator in the office area opened with a ding. Then a fashionable woman walked in with swaying steps. Everyone hurriedly got up. "Good morning, Miss Grant." Kayla greeted her, and this Miss Kate Grant walked quickly towards the office. It was also a glass partition and the office space was not small.

Kayla hurried after her with a notebook and pen and the latte. Wesley couldn't hear their conversation. He didn't have Superman's hearing. All he could see was Miss Kate Grant talking nonstop. She was talking fast and in a hurry, but her movements were graceful.

Kayla recorded her boss's schedule for the day, then handed over the coffee. "Uh ~ Miss Grant, a reporter came for an interview today. He's waiting outside now."

"Oh? He gave you money?" Miss Kate Grant asked suddenly.

"What?" Kayla didn't react.

However, Miss Kate Grant said directly, "From your reaction, I don't think so. Let him in."

Kayla walked out in a daze and then went outside. "Wesley, it's your turn to play now. Don't be nervous. You can do it. Tell her what you're capable of." Kayla even adjusted Wesley's tie.

Wesley laughed. "Kayla, you seem to be even more nervous than I am. Relax, nothing is a problem." Wesley walked sideways with a file bag in one hand and the other hand in the pocket of his pants.

Entering Miss Kate Grant's office, Wesley walked over to his desk and casually placed the file on it. Then he sat down directly, resting his elbows on the chair, crossed his arms, crossed his legs, and rested his hands on his thighs.

"Oh, you seem to be very casual. I didn't ask you to sit down." Miss Kate Grant spoke unkindly.

"Yes, but I think a polite host will inevitably invite a guest to sit down, don't you think?" Wesley kept smiling.

"You have a sharp tongue. Now, I'll give you a minute. Do you need anything to impress me?" It was a routine often seen in workplace interviews.

Wesley didn't say anything, but looked at him strangely. Then he said, "One minute? What can one minute decide? One minute to decide whether I stay or go. That's your right. But one minute is not only for me, but also for you. What can a good employee bring? Do you know?"

"Interesting. You look like a knowledgeable and extremely confident guy. Well, I'll give you more time. Do you have anything that can move me?"

"Aren't you going to look at your resume?"

"No need. I don't care about the curriculum. I like a capable employee. He can leave me with a lot of strength."

"It's a good idea. I'm applying for a job as a reporter, and reporters are concerned about what kind of news they can dig up. I can't prove anything for the time being. After all, you won't let me find a big news now. So how should I prove my ability? Do you have any way?"

"Why do I feel like you're interviewing me?" Kate Grant asked doubtfully, with some irony.

"That's the truth. How can I prove my ability is a problem, and you want me to prove myself now, that's a fake problem. If I apply for the technical department, I can do something for you to see immediately, but I can't do it immediately, so your problem is a fake problem."

"Okay, I'll give it to you. Now you can interview me. What are you going to ask?"

"No problem. Then I will start now. Miss Kate Grant, do you have any thoughts about your marriage? As far as I know, you were married once and had children, but you left them. Do you have any thoughts about this?"

"Bastard, how can you ask that? It makes me feel bad. Are you here for a job?"

"Your bad mood has nothing to do with me. I'm a reporter. I only ask about topics that the public likes. I want to come back with the best subject matter and give it to my boss, not care about what the interviewer thinks. Then I'll get nothing."

"Why didn't you ask me about my achievements?"

"You've been successful for too long and there's no novelty in it. If I were a reporter from a fashion magazine, I would ask about clothes, but I'm not, so I can only ask this. I think the readers will be very interested to know."

"Well, you're hired. Get Kayla to find you a table outside. I want to see your first news as soon as possible." Miss Kate Grant waved Wesley out of the office.
