Chapter 91 - Goodbye Nick Fury

Phil Coulson fell silent as he listened to Wesley. This was a difficult question to solve. Hydra was not stupid. Although they were going to denounce him this time, they still needed to deal with the aftermath carefully. The crime of colluding with gangs and the police could not be glossed over, but the other party might not act lightly either. After all, they were not prepared to lose more than they won if they launched a situation.

However, if they took further action, Hydra might really explode. Therefore, now is not the time to take action. Instead, they should endure it and continue to confuse the other party.

Phil Coulson, who didn't know how to make a decision, decided to wait until the director arrived. After all, his judgment of the overall situation was still a lot worse, and he was only a level seven agent. It wasn't until he was killed by Loki that he was promoted to level eight agent, formed his own team, and got a big plane.

"Let's wait for the director to come. We still have to listen to his orders. You're tired. Go back and rest. We'll take care of things here."

Wesley nodded. It was time for him to go home. Carlos was probably worried about him too. He got a car and went home.

When he returned home, Carlos was indeed waiting for him. When he saw him come back, he did not ask him anything. He just told him to rest well and left the house to go to the flower shop. Wesley took a hot shower and then lay down to sleep. He did not get up until night.

He took the phone and saw that there was a missed call. He called back. "Phil, you called me?" The call could have been received, but Apple did not let Wesley hear it. It blocked his hearing so that he could sleep well.

"It seems that you are very tired. The director is here, but there is no hurry. You can come in the morning." Wesley agreed after listening. It was not a bad thing not to go again at night.

After cleaning up, she walked out of the bedroom and saw Mindy in the living room. There were voices coming from the kitchen. Carlos and Hannah were in the kitchen.

"Brother, are you awake? You slept all day!" Little Mindy saw Wesley and hurried over with wide eyes.

"Well, I was too busy last night. I'm tired. Can you give me a cold Coke?" Wesley was a little weak from sleeping, so he slumped back on the sofa and asked the little girl to find him a drink. Mindy bounced to the kitchen and came out with a can of Coke. Wesley opened it directly and gulped it down, then burped.

"Phew, I feel alive. How was Mindy at school today?" Wesley turned to look at Mindy.

"Not bad, a lot of people came to make friends with me, but it's not easy to become my friend!" Little Mindy raised her little head with an expression of praise.

"Well, our Mindy is so cute. I'm sure a lot of people like her. Can she keep up with her studies?"

"There's no problem. Big Daddy taught me before." Wesley nodded after listening. Mindy's biological father has always been controlled by hatred, but he still taught Mindy. It's not bad.

Carlos came out and began setting the table, and Mindy ran over to help again, and Wesley felt a life come into the house. The four of them enjoyed dinner, and Wesley had a good night's sleep. Food supplementation was really no good. It was too slow, or he would not have felt so tired.

The next day, he was finally back to full health. Wesley began to come to the New York Division again. There were fewer people here, and the rest were all busy. About a third of the staff was missing, which was no small thing.

"Wesley, you're here? Come with me, the director is waiting for you!" Phil Coulson had been waiting for Wesley. When he saw him coming, he took him directly to see Nick Fury.

The chief's office on the highest floor of the building was, of course, the precinct chief's. Wesley saw Nick Fury and someone else he didn't know. It had to be the precinct chief.

"Wesley, let me introduce you. This is the director of the New York Division, level seven agent Martin Redford." Nick Fury introduced the two of them. Wesley came forward to shake hands. "I've always been on the side of the division, but this is the first time I've seen Mr. Director." Wesley didn't let go, but kept holding hands. At the same time, Nick Fury and Phil Coulson stood on either side, vaguely sandwiching Martin Redford in the middle.

Martin Redford didn't have the slightest doubt. He just thought that Wesley was very enthusiastic. Moreover, Wesley's identity was very special. A billionaire agent at S.H.I.E.L.D. What a strange person.

"Of course, it's my fault for not thinking it through. I should have met you earlier. It's very rare for a billionaire like you to be willing to join our agency." It's a must-learn skill for agents to see what people say, so Martin Rayford said it without any sense of incongruity.

Wesley finally let go and inadvertently nodded at Nick Fury. Nick Fury felt relieved. There were many Level 7 agents in S.H.I.E.L.D., but not many. They had all risked their lives for many years to get to this position. They were all independent figures.

"Martin, the cleanup of the New York Division is not as simple as it seems." Nick Fury began to tell the whole story. "We have a parasitic organization in SHIELD that has been lurking for decades. They are now so powerful that we don't dare to move."

Martin Redford was stunned for a moment, then asked in surprise, "Sir, you're not joking, are you?"

Nick Fury shook his head. "No, I'm telling the truth. Hydra should be no stranger to you. After Hydra, the predecessor of SHIELD, was defeated by Captain America, we absorbed a lot of their scientists. That should be when they sneaked in, and we haven't found them for so many years."

"It's really… I can't believe it. Then all the people who were caught in our division, including Jason and James?" Martin Rayford still couldn't believe that so many of his colleagues over the years were Hydra's people.

"I know it's hard for you to accept emotionally, but they've been trying to get something on you and then get you to join in. Fortunately, you're not only an excellent agent, but also an upright person. They don't have the slightest chance." Nick Fury patted Martin Redford on the shoulder. He was glad that he had such an excellent subordinate.
