"Your judgment and reach are good. A spy from a hostile company?" James Shade's eyes were fixed on Wesley.
"Spy? No, to be honest, you might not believe it, but it doesn't matter. I'm actually here to play. It's dangerous here, but it's a playground for me. Believe it or not, but let me remind you that there shouldn't be a living person here now." Wesley smiled as he spoke, but now everyone looked at his smile with horror.
"There are no living people. What are you trying to say?" James Xader frowned even more.
"Isn't the meaning obvious enough? Shoot when you see a moving object." Wesley spread his hands. He had given the obvious hint.
James Shade thought about it. First of all, he saw Wesley as a useful person. Yes, he was useful. No matter what Wesley was here for, his hand must not be weak. Otherwise, he would not have captured his men in one move. Bringing him inside like this was a wise choice. Mike Addison was completely useless. He would just stay here.
Secondly, although the two emergency security guards have lost their memories, their skills should still be there. Even so, they still have to bring them in. After all, they are on the same side. The situation is a little strange now. The company has kept a lot of problems from their team. The situation is very chaotic now. If they want to safely complete the mission and get out, they need manpower.
"Okay, J.D. and Rayne will still stay here, but if you find any suspicious targets, you have to warn them first. If the other party doesn't respond, then… fire. Do you understand?" James Xader thought it was better to be careful, so he ordered.
"Yes, Captain," the two remaining men responded.
"The rest of you and I will go in. Now that we have reached the core area here, everyone has to be careful and don't do anything suspicious at the same time, or I will shoot directly." Then he looked at Wesley, who was still smiling and giving the impression that he didn't care at all.
James Shaed could not see through Wesley, and he was indeed not an experienced mercenary captain. His memory was completely implanted, and Wesley knew it.
Walking inside again, everyone entered the outside of the Fire Empress's engine room. This was the control center, and inside was the Fire Empress' main computer. There was a passage between the control center and the main computer room. It was not very long, but there was glass all around, and it was very dim without lighting.
James Shaed walked in alone and then carefully advanced. Suddenly, the passage lit up. In such a tense atmosphere, James Shaed was shocked. "Karamp?" he asked hurriedly.
"Uh, it's an automatic light. Don't worry about it," Karamp said, and Wesley shook his head.
James Xed walked to the end. There was still a door. He took out a decoder and pasted it on. Then he decoded it and the door opened. James Xed checked the situation inside, but he did not enter directly. Instead, he waved his hand to let the mercenaries in. They had been carrying a big black bag. They lifted it and were ready to enter.
Alice saw the bag and then asked Kallap, "What's that?"
"Stream breaker, use a powerful current to short-circuit the Fire Queen and turn off the phone." Wesley heard their conversation, then shook his head and moved.
Wesley stepped forward at that moment and stopped them. The mercenary tensed and then pointed his gun at him. James Shadd frowned and then hurried out. "I told you not to do anything suspicious."
"I'm just saving you. Everything is going too smoothly, isn't it? Isn't it strange that the Fire Queen, as an intelligent program, could get you here so easily? Or is Umbrella Corporation's intelligent program just like this?"
"What do you want to do?" James Shade couldn't figure out Wesley's background at all, so he wasn't sure what Wesley wanted to do.
"Don't go in yet. We can talk to the Fire Queen first, okay?"
"Communicate?"
"Yes, let me through first." Wesley patted James Xed's shoulder, then went under the surveillance of the control center. He looked at the monitor and said, "Fire Queen, right? I know you have heard our conversation and understood the function of the breaker. This passage is still under your control. Can we talk?"
Everyone looked at Wesley strangely. Was he talking to a program? But a miracle happened. On the control center's operating table, three monitors changed at the same time, and then a little girl appeared, but she looked completely unreal.
"Yes, but if you don't shut me down, once you do, I will have a serious disaster." The little girl's voice was very cold and electronic, without the slightest human emotion.
Wesley stopped looking at the monitor and walked over to the music console. He patted Karamp, who thought he had everything under control, and left his seat in a daze. Wesley sat down, lit a cigarette, and said, "Now I'm going to ask a question, and then you're going to answer. You have to let us know what's going on here, okay?"
"Sure."
"Okay, first of all, why did you kill everyone here?" Wesley asked.
"The T-virus was leaked and spread to all the locations of the laboratory through the ventilation system. All the people were infected. I could only kill them and then seal them. Otherwise, the virus would leak out."
"What is the T virus?"
"Tyrant, this is a major discovery in the medical field. Even after a creature dies, it can still produce a weak electric current in the brain, allowing the creature to continue to move, but they will only have one instinct left, to eat."
Wesley swiveled in his chair and then looked at James Shadd. The captain was sweating.
Wesley, on the other hand, continued to ask, "If you lock them all up now, what happens if you stop operating?"
"All the sealed rooms will open, and the dead people will be active again. They will act completely on instinct, which is to find food."
"What are those things in restaurant B?" Wesley was ready to ask enough at once.
"Licker, a biological weapon developed based on the T-Virus. It has powerful destructive power."
"Well, give us some time to discuss it." Wesley stood up and then looked at James Xader and asked, "How about it? Do you still want to carry out your mission? If you want to cut off the Fire Queen, then we will have to face a lot of… what should we call it?" Wesley thought about it with difficulty. He was still relaxed.
James Shaed was in a dilemma. If they continued the mission, they might really be in a dangerous situation.
