Wesley's interview was a simple one. He shook hands for a minute, but he had plenty of energy drinks around him. He had drunk a full thirty-three cans, but the results were good. This time he hired a woman named Hannah Weir. She was thirty-one years old today and had been married once and had no children. She used to run a flower shop with her ex-husband, but he died in a car accident and she sold all her property to come to New York.
She wanted a new life. New York was a fast-paced city that she was not used to. After seeing this flower shop, she felt that it suited her very well, so she came to apply for a job.
"Carlos, this lady is at a time when her heart is empty. You have to seize the opportunity." Wesley ended the interview and then said to Carlos and winked.
"Wesley, I think we should visit the grave," Carlos suddenly said. Wesley quieted down. He had planned to go in the middle of the night. After all, he was a Chinese soul. But there was no need now. He had to adapt to American life.
"Okay, now that you have an employee, we can visit the grave. Arrange her work as soon as possible. I can do it anytime."
Hannah came straight to work the next day. She was familiar with the work of the florist and now all she had to do was remember the price. Carlos didn't sell at a high price and he didn't make a lot of profit, but the customers loved the florist. The decor was very tasteful and the price was not expensive, so they liked it.
"Hannah, get familiar with it as soon as possible. My son and I are going to visit the grave in a few days. I'll leave it to you."
"Grave sweep?" Hannah was stunned.
"Yes, my wife, Wesley's mother." Carlos was telling the truth, but Hannah instantly found a sense of identity. This was what it was like to be connected to life.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked."
"It doesn't matter. It's been a long time. I let them down, so I'm living with my son now. I want to make up for it as much as possible, but Wesley is much better than me. It's more like he's taking care of me."
"I really envy you and your father. My husband and I didn't have a child. Now that he's gone, I'm alone." Hannah was sad.
"Sorry." This time it was Carlos who apologized. "You can treat this as your home. If you have any difficulties, just tell us. We can help you."
"Thank you, don't worry. I can take care of this place, but I want a raise."
"No problem." The two of them had a good start.
Wesley returned home that night and looked up Silicon Valley. Many of his own things could be bought there, as long as he had a good CEO. The phone rang and Wesley picked it up. "Hello, Wesley, this is Tony. Don't you have my private number?"
"Of course not. The last occasion was not suitable for exchanging phone numbers."
"Well, I don't have yours here. We made a mistake. If you hadn't called, I would have thought I had your number."
"Well, busy man, are you ready to invest?"
"Technology or funding?" Stark asked.
"Hey, the game has been developed. Now I just want you to make a balance system."
"That's right. But where is the company going to put it?"
"California. It's close to your house, isn't it?"
"Very good. Is it Silicon Valley? That place is very suitable for this company. Okay, give me a number. I have a share. Is it thirty percent?"
"That's right, my father has 10% and the rest is mine. After going public, I will take out 20% to invest in the stock market in batches and will not dilute your shares."
"That's a deal. When the time comes, just tell Pepe and she will deal with it. By the way, I'm busy with the fair in New York. Do you want to come and see it?"
"No, I need to visit my mother's grave and fly to California. I'm very busy."
"Sweeping graves?" Stark's parents are dead, but he has some problems with his father.
"Hey, Stark, there's a Chinese saying that the dead should be respected. No matter what happened in life, the life of the dead is over, and all we can do is reminisce. Good or bad, there's only nostalgia left."
"Okay, I see. It's settled. You must come to the opening of the fair. We can do a promotion for the new company, don't you think?"
"Yes, you are a genius." Wesley put down the phone and sat quietly on the sofa.
A few days later, Hannah Weir got to know the florist. She remembered some of the old customers. It was this very capable woman. And she loved flowers. She worked with a smile every day and her mood improved a lot, especially for Carlos.
It had to be said that Carlos was very attractive, especially to women over the age of thirty. They liked Carlos's type very much. Some high-level single strong women in some nearby companies would come to buy flowers and talk to Carlos when they had nothing to do.
Parents and children here in the United States are relatively independent. They don't live together all the time and are very different from Chinese culture. Wesley and Carlos seem quite special. They like to live together. Wesley is a matter of habit and Carlos wants to do his duty as a father.
The two of them were ready to go and went back to the city they had left. The cemetery was always a sad place, and the colors were always gray. There were a lot of fallen leaves in winter, and Alice Gibson's tombstone was a little old. Wesley did not have enough money in the past to get a good one. Father and son arrived with flowers and began to clean up afterward.
"Alice knows that we came to see her together. Do you think he will be happy?" Carlos said sadly. The woman he was most sorry for was lying here.
"Yes, she will be happy. She has always been kind and strong. Although we are a little late, she finally came." Wesley smiled.
The cemetery belonged to the church next door, and the expenses here were all dependent on donations from parishioners. Carlos found the priest and said, "Our loved ones are here. We hope she can live happily in heaven. Please accept our donation. It's a little something." Carlos donated a million dollars to the church, and Wesley donated a million dollars. They were doing it for the same woman.
"Thank you for your donation. Do you need us to do anything?" The priest was not excited about such a large donation. It seemed that he was a good priest.
Wesley said directly, "It feels too sad here. We hope there are some colors. My mother likes flowers. I think we can ask someone to clean up here and plant more flowers. We don't need any expensive varieties. As long as they are full of life, we will come every year."
"Don't worry, child. This place will be full of life. You are right. It should not be so sad here." The priest crossed himself.
