Chapter 27 - Quest

Another requirement of sniping is patience. Absolute patience. You only get one shot. You have to wait for the most appropriate time to do it. And you only get one shot. How to find and seize the opportunity is the hardest part.

It wasn't enough. The moment you had an opportunity, you had to make sure you were ready to shoot, or you needed to give up. And the preparation for shooting can't be done in advance. The moment you shoot, you need to know the changes in the environment. Most of the time you rely on experience, because no one can calculate it in an instant, but Wesley could.

Pistols and sniper rifles had consumed two months of their time, and Wesley had no intention of continuing the rest, because Phil Coulson had called and needed him back.

The two of them said goodbye to Pekowski and Carlos left a million dollars for his friend. Then the two of them went straight to the airport and took a plane back to New York.

The renovation of the house had been completed. The two of them got off the plane and came here directly. The entire renovation style was atmospheric and simple. The colors were mainly gray, white, and black. Some places were red so that the entire style would not be too dark. In addition to the lighting effect on the top floor, it did feel like home and was not cold.

"Let's start," Wesley said. Then he and Carlos began to search the room inch by inch. They were checking to see if there was any surveillance equipment. They don't trust government intelligence agencies. Whether the other party has no intention of doing so, they will check.

The two of them began to search their home. After half a day of searching, they found nothing strange. Some places had been unpacked. Wesley was more relieved. The search had used some equipment, which Apple had suggested.

Finally, the two of them came to the location of the armory. It was designed as a bookshelf, and this room was used as a study. There were only three rooms, but there were four bathrooms. It had to be said that Americans loved bathrooms. Some villas actually had fifteen bathrooms on the scale of thirteen rooms. In any case, Wesley could not understand it, but when in Rome, do as the Romans do.

"Well, it's not very big, but it's good enough for the two of us. What weapons should we put in it?" Wesley asked Ross.

"My six sniper rifles can be put in, including six sets of scopes, although they may not be useful anymore."

"That's right. Your sniper rifle is a killer weapon and it absolutely needs to be saved. Now put these away. I'll see what SHIELD has to offer later. Their equipment should be very advanced and you can put them in."

"We also need a few flight suits and low-altitude parachutes. This is the top floor. You can use flight suits and low-altitude parachutes. You can break out if necessary."

"Good idea, but I haven't been trained. No problem?"

"Don't worry, it's completely manageable with special abilities, and there should be this program in SHIELD's training. When the time comes, you should study it carefully." After putting on the flight suit, it looks a little like a bat and can glide. It is safer to use it with a low-altitude parachute. They live on the top floor, and there is nothing more suitable than these two pieces of equipment to run out.

"Okay, we have a home now. Let's clean up the room and have a big meal. We'll buy a car tomorrow. I'll call Phil and see what he wants from me." Wesley took his luggage back to his bedroom and opened the closet. There was nothing in it. He put his suits and other clothes in it. It was still too little, but he would think about it later. The old things were in the old rental house and he didn't want them back.

"Hello, Phil, we're back. What's the matter?" Wesley called directly after packing up.

"I'm glad you're back. The phone is on 24 hours a day. There may be an operation soon." Wesley thought of Stark Industries. Tony Stark was about to go to war with his father's partner, Obadiah Stein.

"What about the specific mission?" Wesley asked again. It's not funny to face it head-on. That's a quick death.

"I'm not sure. It's just that the atmosphere at Stark Industries is not very normal. We are in contact with Mr. Stark, so we can't ignore such a situation. Now we need some preparation," Phil Coulson said.

"Well, I need to meet with you tomorrow. In this case, I need some equipment." Wesley took the opportunity to ask for something.

"No problem. Call me tomorrow." After hanging up, Wesley thought about it. The best way to deal with the Iron Man Armor is not to let them wear it. But this is hard. He is not an assassin now and can't kill directly, so he needs a sniper rifle. As long as the old guy takes off the helmet, he is dead.

The pace in the movie was very fast because it was only two hours, but in the real world, everything took time to develop. After going out for dinner in the evening, he went home to rest. His new home was indeed not bad. There was no smell of decay, and everything was quiet and neat.

Early the next morning, he called his lawyer, Philip. "How is it going? Has the house been sold?"

"Yes, Mr. Wesley, two apartments have been sold. The one next to Stark Tower has been sold for $38 million. It's very popular. This price is the highest. I don't know if you need us to avoid taxes?" American taxes can only be laughed at. Wesley thought about it. The so-called tax avoidance is consumption and investment. But in this case, you still need to spend money. Moreover, the real estate transaction tax is divided equally between both parties. He doesn't need to pay much.

"No, just pay taxes. And how is the land?"

"This needs to be publicized in advance. The New York Auction House is a big auction house. Although it needs to be divided into five percent, their publicity is very good. You can defend yourself. They will auction it next month. Many people have their eyes on that piece of land. It can definitely be sold for a good price."

"Then there's no problem. You can transfer the money from the sale of the house to my account and deduct your commission and taxes directly." Wesley and his father had a lot of cash in their hands. Sloan's had bought stocks, and the assassins still had money. Even if they gave a million dollars to Pekowski, they still had hundreds of millions in cash. Wesley wanted to do something now.

After breakfast, the two of them went straight to buy a car. "What car do you like?"

"Me? How about I buy a pickup?" Carlos said after thinking about it.

"Why do you want a pickup? If you have any thoughts, you can just say it. Although you are retired, can you think about what you want to play with?" Carlos is not old. When he is in his forties, it is a good time for a man. Maybe he can have a second spring.
