Chapter 17 - Tracking

Carlos left the next day to prepare weapons, and Wesley left the place wearing a leather jacket and carrying a gun and a dagger. Instead of stealing a car, he took a taxi and left. Now he needed some equipment, and he needed to be extra careful about tracing Sloan's external communications, if his collaborator was really Hydra.

"Wesley showed up. I really don't know how he knew who his father was." SHIELD, which had been responsible for monitoring the Gibson father and son, did not lose Wesley. High-altitude surveillance has a natural advantage, and Wesley did not know that he was being watched by SHIELD.

"Father and son split up. We continue to keep an eye on Wesley. His father must have gone to the old place, where the Assassin Brotherhood originated. He must have gone to find firearms."

"Understood. When will you be back, sir?"

"I'm not sure. The problem on Stek's side is more important. We just need to keep an eye on it here. These assassins can easily get them to join."

"Is it really easy? These people are not ordinary, especially Gibson and his son. If we are targeted by them, it will be difficult for us to survive."

"Don't worry. Carlos abides by the arrangement of the Loom of Fate. He is a righteous man. And his son is smart. He knows what to do. It doesn't matter if he doesn't join. They won't become enemies."

"I hope so. I don't want to be targeted by this group of people. Their assassination really didn't fail. But why do our teams belong to SHIELD but are outside SHIELD's management?"

"Don't ask what you shouldn't ask. That's the rule. Keep working."

Wesley took a taxi to the electronics mall, where he could buy what he needed. Ordinary electronics would not do, and would need to be reassembled, but it would not be a problem for Apple.

Looking at the list Apple had given him, Wesley began to make a big purchase. An advanced notebook was a must, especially if Apple was to use it quickly. The telescope required a military electronic telescope, which needed to be purchased at the weapons store. There were also some antennas, especially a satellite signal receiving antenna, an electromagnetic wave signal receiving antenna, to intercept Sloan's cell phone signal, followed by some small accessories.

The purchase cost Wesley more than $30,000. After a moment of heartache, he hired a car and pulled it back. However, he could not park it directly in front of the door. Instead, he parked it farther away, got out, and slowly carried it back himself.

Carlos was already back. He was just going to deliver the money and pick up the things. He was fast. He called ahead to make reservations.

"Everything has been retrieved. The two pistols are both Beretta 92Fs with a 15-round magazine. I have already adjusted them for you. Take a look." Carlos took out two pistols as if he was presenting a treasure. Wesley took them, dismantled them, and reassembled them to test the feel.

"Not bad, it's a good gun. Now let's split up. I need a box car. I don't need to buy it but I can't steal it. It's best to rent one. This makes it convenient for me to monitor Textile Mill No. 17."

"No problem. I'll rent one tomorrow."

"How many people are there in the Assassin Brotherhood?" Wesley asked.

"Not a lot. Except for the people in the textile factory, there are less than a hundred people left, but they are too scattered, so I am not hunting fast."

"It's indeed not much. Then as long as they attack the headquarters, they won't do much. I'll monitor them tomorrow morning. When you're ready, we'll take action, whether we can find the guy behind Sloan or not."

Wesley began to deal with the equipment at hand. Small pieces began to be assembled under Apple's command, then linked to two antennas and then to the notebook.

The next day, Carlos drove back in a van. The box car with the side door was parked at the back of the house. Wesley looked inside. It was empty. There was nothing inside except for the window in the door. Everything else was metal plate. It was indeed suitable for surveillance, but there would be a lack of understanding of what was going on outside.

Wesley carried the equipment up directly. "We'll contact each other by phone. If anything happens, let me know by phone. This will be the last contact point. If you lose contact, gather here." After giving instructions, Wesley drove away. He went to buy some pinhole cameras, two laptops, and a wireless network card. Then he drove to the No. 17 Textile Mill.

They were in a relatively enclosed area with a river behind them, and they would have to cross a bridge to get there. Wesley drove to the opposite bank of the river at the back of the textile factory. It was not far and relatively safe.

After drilling a few small holes in the car, he installed the pinhole camera and linked it to the two notebooks he had bought later. This way, he had a picture of the surroundings of the car. Then, he set up the antenna all over the top of the car. Although it looked strange from the outside, the other party would not come to check here because it was not easy to attack the textile factory on this side. The window of the car door was opened a little, and Wesley observed it with binoculars. He could not see anything.

Opening the last notebook and connecting it to the world, Apple pressed her finger to the USB port and began to write the monitoring program. This was an outdated technology from Wesley's original universe in 2016, but it should work well now.

"It's done. I will now monitor all cell phone signals within ten kilometers of the surrounding area. The satellite signal is connected, but I can't control the satellite and can only accept the information of the satellite. If there is an observation satellite, I can see the picture inside the textile factory."

"Good, but when can you upgrade and let me have some initiative in electronic information?" Weiss asked.

"If I prioritize this information, then I need to organize and learn a thousandth of all the data." Wesley thought about it. It was only one in a million now, right? Forget it, I'll take it slow. There's always hope. If not, I'll ask Stark for help. He'll want to be involved in such an interesting thing.

Wesley finished his preparations and then took out the hot dogs and coffee he had bought on the way. The junk food was delicious, but others would gain weight after eating it. If he ate too little, he would lose weight easily. He wondered if the women would want to dissect him when they found out.

The wait was long, but it was worth it to have a good result. On the third day, a call came in, instantly energizing Wesley, who was bored. "Apple, record the trace."

"It can't be traced. The other party used an anti-tracking program. At the moment, I can't do anything about it." Wesley gave up directly. Apple was very weak now, so he could only listen to the conversation.
