Chapter 101 - I Know A Woman’s Heart (3)

"I think it's the two of us who have the best luck together, don't you think?"

"I don't know. Today is the first time. Maybe it's a coincidence?"

"Our profession doesn't believe in coincidences." Wesley had just said this when the waiter brought two menus, one for each of them.

As they looked down at the menu, Wesley said, "Since we're eating French food, we need to know what the chef is best at. I wonder what the chef would recommend today?" Wesley looked at the waiter.

A senior Western chef has his own pride. They will recommend some dishes based on today's ingredients, and the waiter must figure this out before starting work, especially in a high-class restaurant.

"You've reserved four portions of black truffles, so a crispy onion soup as a pre-dinner soup is a good choice. Then there's the steak made from the main dish, veal, and then there's black truffles. The last portion of the citrus orange and blueberry egg tower is for dessert, and the red wine is for Bordeaux dry red. What do you think?"

"Maria, what do you think?" Wesley asked.

"That sounds good."

Through the memory of the apple search, Maria Hill liked to eat foie gras, and Wesley naturally would not miss this opportunity. "It might be better to add a portion of foie gras before steak. Give us a portion of fried foie gras."

Traditional French cuisine has 13 dishes, but no one eats so much now, so it's generally simplified. A few dishes are basically enough to fill one's stomach, and no more can be eaten. Moreover, changing dishes so frequently is not appropriate for men and women seeking romance.

"Not bad, that's it!" Maria Hill nodded with a smile. Although she didn't know how Wesley knew she liked foie gras, she was really satisfied today.

The wine was brought and a wooden cork was handed to Wesley, who held it to his nose and sniffed it gently before nodding.

An entire bottle of red wine was poured into a high-necked glass container and placed on a small round table, an empty glass goblet, and a goblet filled with clear water. Before eating each dish, you need to drink some clear water to remove the taste of the previous dishes.

The food had not yet been served, but the wine could be drunk first. Wesley poured the wine for Maria Hill and then raised his glass. "To what?" Wesley asked, raising his glass.

"How about a toast to… to the smoothness of your work?"

"Do you want to talk about work in such a good atmosphere? It's not bad. Then let's drink to the fact that we can work together." Taking a sip, Wesley needed a new topic until the first dish was served.

Through his memory, Wesley knew that Maria Hill was proud of her job, so he needed to lead her to it. "Tell me why you chose such a job? This kind of job is usually rare for women. I always thought you looked like a model."

"It's a long story."

"We have a lot of time, don't we?"

The two of them not only ate a good dinner, but they also chatted enthusiastically. After dinner, they left the restaurant. Wesley helped the lady get into the car again. At the same time, he knew what he was thinking. Maria Hill was hesitating.

Sitting in the car, Wesley needed to work harder. "I used all afternoon to clean up my apartment. Do you want to see it?" Wesley found an excuse for the woman.

"Okay, let's take a tour and see how you decorate it." With the excuse and the woman's consent, everything will fall into place.

Wesley drove back to the apartment and they entered the room. "How is it? The results of the afternoon are not bad, right?" Wesley thoughtfully took out his slippers and they entered the room. The bachelor apartment was very simple. The bathroom, kitchen, living room, and bedroom were about eighty square meters.

"Not bad. I didn't expect you to clean up and decorate the room. You're really efficient." Wesley took out the fruit at this time and cut it into a fruit bowl and two glasses, but he didn't take the wine out. Instead, he took a juice drink.

"I thought you would give me wine?" Maria Hill took the drink.

"We're agents, right? I don't believe you'll get drunk. Why don't you have some juice?" The two of them sat on the sofa and then began to talk about dinner. When it comes to their experiences, especially in the profession of agents, women inevitably show signs of exhaustion. This is Wesley's best chance.

The morning sun shone through a gap in the curtains. Wesley opened his eyes. Maria Hill was up.

As he left the bedroom, the sound of running water came from the bathroom. Wesley knocked on the door. "Why are you up so early?"

"I still have to go back to change and go to work. You're off today, sleep more!" A voice came from inside.

"Do you want me to let you take the taxi home? I'll get dressed and send you home. You can sleep when you come back." Wesley didn't wash up. He put on casual clothes and took the key. Then he went into the kitchen and began to prepare sandwiches and a box of milk.

"I have to say, you are so considerate. Whoever marries you is really lucky," Maria Hill said. At the same time, she was sending a message, and Wesley smiled helplessly.

The reason why she was helpless was mainly because Maria Hill was very career-minded. She cared more about her work and wanted to do better. The current situation was that she was a level nine agent and Nick Fury was a level ten. She was the most promising person to become the next director. Moreover, SHIELD's space carrier had already determined that she was the commander.

According to their current relationship, they were basically a couple in China. If they got along well, they would get married. However, it was different in the United States. Everyone took what they needed. Wesley could only accept this reality and contact her when needed.

"Well, you are a strong woman, but now you need me to take you home. Let's go and eat in the car. You can save a lot of time." Wesley still smiled. After all, he was not at a disadvantage. If this did not work, he would change it.

After sending Maria Hill home and being told to keep it a secret, Wesley nodded and drove away. To understand the other party's needs, Apple invaded very frequently. Now that he was starving, he found a fast-food restaurant by the side of the road and ordered two apple pies and a cup of hot coffee. Then he started eating.
