Chapter 1028 - Attacking the French Ministry of Magic

Shut-your-ears, Peacekeeping, All-Protection, Muggle Banishment…

Forty wizards were scattered across the grounds of the Palace of Versailles, and a combined magical barrier soon surrounded the entire palace, creating a magical barrier.

As such, no matter how hard they fought inside, they could not be heard from the outside, and any Muggles who passed by would consciously avoid them.

The most important thing was that this magical barrier could also stop the release of Apparition. Ivan had worked hard to stop these Saints, so he naturally did not intend to let any of them escape.

As the rain continued to fall, the Aurors, having dispersed all the Muggles, converged on the gates of Versailles, leaving behind only a quarter of the Aurors to maintain the barrier and protect the Muggles within.

Yvonne made her way to the centre of the square, where a large fountain stood on the opposite side, surrounded by many beautiful statues.

This was the entrance to the French Ministry of Magic, where powerful Confunding Charms had been placed on the statues around it, making them appear mundane to Muggles, but revealing signs of their existence to a true Master of Magic.

Ivan looked down at the reflected image in the water and stuck the tip of his wand into the water. A mysterious ripple spread across the surface of the pool, turning the clear water blue and triggering a warning spell on the statue.

Ivan retrieved his wand and said solemnly, "Begin the operation!"

Fran and the others nodded and jumped into the blue pool.

Yvonne did not follow him immediately. Instead, she took a bottle of potion from her pocket and poured the golden liquid down her throat.

The Felix Felicis tasted very strange. Ivan smacked his lips and did not taste it carefully. Instead, he focused on the changes in his body after drinking the potion.

He had a vague feeling that there was something different about him, but he could not put his finger on it.

Ivan's eyes flashed. He took a deep breath, composed himself, and jumped into the pool with the Aurors.

As if passing through a thin curtain of water, the bottom of the pool was not dark, but a magnificent hall.

… .

As they entered the Ministry through the water curtain, the Aurors on guard duty sensed an intruder and rushed over.

The leader of the group, an Auror, saw hundreds of wizards entering the hall through a curtain of water at the same time, and his scalp went numb, but he forced himself forward and snapped, "Who are you? What are you doing in the Ministry of Magic?"

"I am the Executive Minister of the International Confederation of Wizards, Flan. Last night, I was informed that a Saint had infiltrated the French Ministry of Magic in disguise, and have been ordered to conduct a search… I ask for your cooperation," Flan said with a sneer as she showed Ivan's signed warrant to him, her right hand on her wand.

The leading Auror swallowed hard and said shakily, "I'm sorry, but we didn't receive any notice, and the International Confederation of Wizards has no right to search the Ministry of Magic directly, so… so I'll have to ask my superiors before I can make a decision. Please wait here!"

However, Fran and the others ignored him and pulled out their wands to force their way in. If Ivan had not instructed them not to make the first move, these Aurors would have fallen to the ground.

The pressure on the French Aurors from Flun's aggressive approach caused the leader of the group to pull out his wand and point it at Flun.

"Stop them!"

A fight was about to break out, and both sides, already on guard, swung their wands and fired at each other almost simultaneously.

Unable to determine who among the Aurors present were innocent and who were saints in disguise, Flan and the others did not use the Death Curse in their attempts to knock them out or arrest them.

However, things were different on the other side. The vicious saints disguised themselves as Aurors of France and mixed into the crowd, using the Unforgivable Curses. However, due to the huge disparity in numbers, they were quickly defeated…

Nine o'clock in the morning was one of the busiest times in the Ministry of Magic, and many wizards stayed in the hall to attend to their duties.

Seeing hundreds of vicious-looking wizards charging into the Ministry of Magic and attacking the Aurors guarding it, some of the more confused wizards joined in the fray, while the rest of the group, pale with fear, crouched in the corner with their hands over their heads, their high-pitched screams attracting even more Aurors guarding the building.

Ivan saw the chaos as soon as he landed, but he had no intention of getting involved.

Flan and the others did not disappoint him. They took care of the battle in just two or three minutes, bringing the situation under control, and with their excellent coordination, there were no casualties.

Of course, the number of casualties was limited to those on their own side. Hundreds of wizards were lying dead in the hall, most of them either in uniform or knocked out cold. Only a few unlucky souls were hit by their fellow wizards' spells and died under their own attacks.

After clearing the hall, Flan and the others did not waste any time, leaving twenty wizards to maintain order. They split up into teams and searched the entire French Ministry of Magic as fast as they could for a witch named Alison.

Ivan walked slowly behind the rest of the group. He was slow to act, and his relaxed posture was a stark contrast to the intensity of the battle in front of him. He only took the time to fight back when the ignorant wizards tried to cast spells on him.

Ivan had no intention of intervening directly in the first large-scale operation of the rapid-response force, and Fran and the others were strong enough to deal with most of the trouble.

He's only standing here waiting for Grindelwald to show up!

Although Ivan had not a shred of proof that Grindelwald was hiding inside the French Ministry of Magic, it was not a case and Ivan did not need proof, and a faint voice in his head told him — the people he was looking for were all inside this Ministry!

Thus Ivan chose to wait, concentrating on the threat.

They could appear anywhere in the Ministry at any moment and attack any one of them, but Ivan was prepared to back them up.

Upon receiving news of Grindelwald's presence, he immediately used his Bloodline Magic to break through the Anti-Phantom Transfiguration Charm.
