"War?!" Harker's voice rose an octave, and his expression changed dramatically. Even though he was the British Prime Minister, he was shocked to hear the word "war".
Though his knowledge of wizards was poor, limited to Ivan's brief introduction, the wizard's display of magical prowess intimidated him.
If a large group of magical wizards were to assassinate the heads of various countries, it would be a huge problem!
Prime Minister Hark felt a chill run down his spine as he thought about this, and he quickly asked Ivan how strong the wizards who were trying to start a war were and whether bullets could deal with such a monster.
Monster? Ivan's face twitched as he read Harker's thoughts.
Prior to this, he had deliberately put on airs in front of Prime Minister Hark in order to gain control of the conversation, but he had not expected Hark to have the impression that wizards and monsters were equals.
Ivan shook his head to himself and explained, "Wizards may possess magical abilities, but they are still mortal creatures, and technological weapons are somewhat useful."
Hearing this, Prime Minister Harker's tense nerves relaxed. His greatest fear was that technological weapons would be useless against wizards, and he would lose his last bargaining chip against them.
Before he could rejoice, Ivan's voice came again.
"But not a wizard as powerful as Grindelwald. If you want to use guns and missiles against him, forget it. They won't work."
Muggle technological weapons, though powerful and far more destructive than normal magic, are of limited use against wizards of their level.
After all, magic was far more bizarre and convenient than technology. Even if he was attacked by dozens of missiles, Grindelwald could easily use Transfiguration or Vanish to escape.
The only reliable method was to shoot Grindelwald from an extremely long distance with a dozen sniper rifles while he was off guard.
However, this plan was also very unlikely, as the other party's keen insight could detect those life-and-death crises in advance.
Back at the North American Capitol, he had secretly planted a trap in the key to see if he could use it to kill Grindelwald.
Grindelwald would not have been injured if Apparition had not been impossible inside the Capitol.
Hark was dubious about Ivan's claim, and even vaguely believed that it was the wizards' lack of knowledge of technological weapons that had led Ivan to make such a claim.
Seeing that Hark was not going to give up, Ivan coldly warned him, "Let's just say Grindelwald could easily destroy an entire city with a fierce fire if he had some time and no other wizards to stop him!"
"I mean reduced to ashes and nothing left!" Ivan added after a pause.
Huck sucked in his breath.
It was possible to destroy an entire city with their nuclear weapons, but they would inevitably leave behind ruins, and, as Ivan had said, if an entire city was reduced to ashes, nothing would be left of it.
Ivan smiled. He wanted Harker to understand the high-end fighting capabilities of wizards, and to dispel whatever thoughts were in Harker's mind.
"Wind!"
Ivan's words caused a gentle breeze to blow across the vast Place de Gaulle, causing the wind to speed up. The trees shook and the tourists below shouted in panic, but Ivan did not stop. He pointed his finger at the sky and spoke again.
"Cloud!"
The originally sunny sky instantly darkened. Hark looked up in shock against the strong wind. Dark clouds stretched as far as the eye could see, covering the entire city of Paris…
"Ley!" Ivan shouted, and dozens of lightning bolts flashed through the dark clouds overhead, and a terrible thunderstorm began to gather over the city. Muffled booms sounded like thunderclaps, and it was as if Armageddon had arrived.
"That's enough… that's enough, stop!" Hark cried out in panic, begging Ivan to call off this terrible spell. The near-miraculous sight in front of him had taught him how powerful wizards were, and he had no doubt that if Ivan willed it, the powerful thunderstorm that covered the entire city would crash down and destroy it…
Ivan's lips curled into a smile, then he clapped his hands, and the dark clouds that had gathered over Paris quickly dispersed.
He was only trying to scare the British Prime Minister, not commit such a heinous crime. Not to mention, his current level of magic did not allow him to destroy the entire city with a thunderstorm, unless he was willing to tap into the vast amount of magic stored within the stone.
From the looks of it, it would be more cost-effective and less troublesome to destroy a city with Dark Magic that could absorb nutrients and grow rapidly…
Unbeknownst to Huck, Ivan had something horrible on his mind, but he was so frightened by the devastating spell that his legs went weak, and he barely managed to keep from falling off the Arc de Triomphe.
He no longer doubted Ivan's claim that Grindelwald was capable of burning a city to the ground with a spell called Fire.
Prime Minister Hark wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and forced himself to remain calm as he asked, "So how do you plan to deal with Grindelwald? Is there anything I can do to help you?" No one would be able to relax with an extermination-level terrorist on the loose.
"No, we will solve Grindelwald's problem on our own, and we are here to inform you that the British government will cooperate with us in covering the trail of wizards…" Ivan briefly explained how the Saints had been attacking Muggles around the world.
If this continued, it would be difficult for the Aurors to keep all the news under wraps, even if they ran for their lives, so it would take Muggle authorities to get involved and help cover it up.
Both now and in the future, they will need to work together on a deeper level…
After hearing Ivan's story, Harker realised that the attacks that had been going on for the past year were not the work of terrorists, but rather the work of a group of wizards called the Saints…
