Grindelwald wiped the blood from his mouth but did not respond to Ivan's sarcastic comment. As the fake President of the North American Congress, he would not dare to keep the key somewhere else, lest his cover be blown…
However, Grindelwald's silence did not mean that he was not angry.
Even though he had left the Magical Capitol, he had no intention of leaving. With a wave of his wand, the row of cars parked in front of the Capitol floated up and flew towards Ivan at an unimaginable speed.
"Reducto ~ (Shattered to pieces)," Ivan said, shaking his wand so hard that the front row of Rolls-Royces exploded.
The scattered debris quickly gathered under the influence of the Transfiguration Charm, forming a huge iron shield that blocked the oncoming cars. Finally, it disintegrated into debris, and like a cannonball, it bombarded Grindelwald.
Flames and explosions erupted in the square in front of the building, and when the dust settled, the once-flat brick floor was pocked as if it had been plowed by a cannon.
However, Grindelwald had already disappeared, and Ivan looked around quickly. He had already disabled the Invisibility Cloak, so it could only be Disapparated!
As Ivan wondered if Grindelwald had run away, a beam of black magic shot out from behind him, and Ivan, sensing the danger, transformed into a ball of fire without hesitation.
The black beam passed right through Ivan and hit the streetlight behind him, melting it in a second or two.
This terrifying power made Ivan's scalp go numb. He quickly gathered himself and cast an Armor Charm on himself to prevent himself from ending up like a street lamp…
It was the middle of the afternoon, and the Woolworth Building was located in the heart of New York City, when Ivan's battle with Grindelwald was discovered by Muggles passing by.
The falling cars and the continuous explosions threw the street into chaos.
"Confringo ~ (exploding thunder)" Grindelwald blocked several of the incoming spells and coldly waved his wand to cast an Exploding Spell, but the target was not Ivan, but the Woolworth Building!
The violent flames condensed into a fireball and slammed into the walls, shaking the entire building. Broken glass and bricks rained down, and the Muggles in the street either fell to the ground or fled in panic.
"Monsters, demons… someone help me!"
"Devil, this is witchcraft!"
… .
Ivan's face fell as he heard the constant shouting.
He did not anticipate Grindelwald's sudden change of target in the middle of the battle.
Yvonne looked around at the terrified Muggles and saw why Grindelwald hadn't left in a hurry — he was planning to use this battle to expose the existence of wizards…
It seemed… he had to end this quickly!
Ivan made up his mind and raised his Human Bones Wand high. Under the influence of the huge amount of magic, the originally clear sky was instantly filled with dark clouds…
"Ley!" Ivan pointed his wand at Grindelwald, and in an instant, a dozen thick bolts of lightning fell from the sky, culminating in a powerful thunderstorm that engulfed the square.
The power of the terrible thunderstorm was evident as soon as it struck the ground, and dense arcs of lightning licked the ground and spread out in all directions. The hard tiles of the ground burst open under the fury of the lightning, and spiderweb-like gullies spread out.
Within moments, the entire square was reduced to ruins…
Ivan closed his eyes for a moment, and Grindelwald's magic vanished from the front of the building, as if it had been obliterated by a thunderstorm…
The lightning was extremely fast, and Grindelwald might not have been able to dodge it, but considering that he had an un-destroyed Horcrux, Ivan decided against it, believing that Grindelwald had escaped injured…
"My God?!"
Ivan was deep in thought when a trembling voice came from behind him. He turned to see a line of police cars surrounding the square.
Chief Vic, in the lead, got out of the police car and stared blankly at the square, which looked as if it had been hit by a round of missiles.
He had just received a report that a terrorist attack had taken place in front of the Woolworth Building, and he had rushed to the scene with all his men, only to be greeted by a scene that shattered his world view — a young man of seventeen or eighteen years old holding a club aloft, drawing lightning from the sky and causing a powerful thunderstorm.
No one doubted it was a coincidence that the other side was standing in the middle of such a terrible thunderstorm and not affected in any way…
Were they about to confront a terrorist who was the legendary Norse deity, Odin?
Should they pray for God to come and fight each other?
"Drop… drop your weapon, police!" When he saw Ivan turn around, Chief Vic felt a chill run down his spine. He frantically pulled his pistol from his belt, but he didn't feel safe.
The twenty or so officers nearby also drew their weapons and, under the cover of the police car, pointed them at each other with trembling hands…
Ivan shrugged and looked at the Muggle policemen in front of him. He suppressed his annoyance and spoke as pleasantly as he could. "Calm down and put down your guns, gentlemen. In fact, the threat has been removed…"
Unfortunately, Ivan's words had no effect, and the policemen present were determined that the threat was right in front of them!
Look at this square. Sergeant Vic remembered it as one of the city's landmarks when he passed it the day before yesterday, but now it's just a pile of rubble, not to mention the fact that they had all just witnessed this young man driving a thunderstorm to destroy an innocent middle-aged man…
Perhaps the twenty or so guns gave Sergeant Vic a little courage, or perhaps everything supernatural in front of him had made him hysterical, but he shouted, "I'm going to say this one last time. Drop your weapons and release the hostages in the building!"
Hostage? Yvonne paused, looking thoughtfully at the Woolworths Building, which had been attacked by a Blasting Charm, and realized that he had probably misunderstood.
"Why do you have to make things difficult for a good man?" Ivan sighed, then continued helplessly. "Well, in that case, you should just rest here. When you wake up, everything will be fine…"
