Chapter 944 - The Three Sacred Weapons

"Reducto ~ (crushing)"

"Petrificus ~ (All petrified)"

The other two wizards were not slow to react. They frantically pulled out their wands and pointed them at the cheetah that had suddenly appeared. Several magical beams of light instantly shot out.

Ivan did not try to dodge the attacks. Instead, he spun and collapsed into a ball of fire, the beam of light passing through his body.

"What kind of sorcery is this?" The wizards watching could not believe their eyes, but before they could understand what was happening, the ball of fire crashed into them.

A violent explosion sounded in the forest, and the flames instantly sent the three of them flying.

Then, as the flames began to gather, Ivan reappeared in the clearing.

Rolfe stepped out of his hiding place and looked at the mess on the floor. He silently put his wand back and sighed.

He was beginning to believe that the headline in the European Daily News wasn't just a bluff. The man had probably actually defeated three elite Aurors when he graduated.

Crackle…

There was a sudden crackle of electricity, and Ivan turned to see the Thunderbird on its right side, chained and crouched low, letting out a low cry, a defensive cry that indicated it sensed a threat…

"You calm it!" Ivan said to Rolfe, then strode over to the wizard he had slapped away and grabbed him by the collar, forcing him to look him in the eye.

[Telekinesis!]

The wizard had intended to resist, but he was dizzy from the claw on his head, and the moment his eyes met Ivan's, he was completely mesmerized.

A flood of fragmented memories rushed into Ivan's mind.

Ivan's face fell as he scanned through the last few months of memory.

He now understood why Grindelwald had suddenly come to France — he was looking for Nicolas Flamel's house, or, to put it another way, he was after the Resurrection Stone!

It was the last of the Three Hallows, and Ivan had no idea what would happen if Grindelwald got his hands on it.

Ivan, however, was more or less baffled as to how Grindelwald knew that the Resurrection Stone was in Nicolas Flamel's safe house and how the location of the spatial node had been determined.

It must be noted that Nicolas Flamel was extremely cautious in his decision to leave the two pieces of information behind so as not to be disturbed.

Could it be Dumbledore? Yvonne thought about it and decided it was unlikely; Dumbledore would never betray an old friend.

"Did you find anything?" Rolfe asked as he approached.

"Grindelwald has entered the residence of the Master Alchemist, Nicolas Flamel. I must go and stop him!" Ivan exclaimed as he approached the spot in the wizard's memory where Grindelwald had been standing, closing his eyes to sense the remnants of magic in this space.

Since the passageway had been opened only a few minutes earlier, and the method used had been brutal, the traces of magic that remained were clear, and Ivan could clearly sense that there was no need for Grindelwald to have made the necessary preparations.

A moment later, Ivan opened his eyes and swiftly waved his wand, causing a dark spatial passageway to appear.

"Are you just going to go in there? HALS? We know what he's after, so we'd better call the Ministry and get them to deal with it!" Rolf said, trying to calm Ivan down. Ivan was more powerful than Rolf expected, but Grindelwald was a notorious Dark Lord, and the two of them would be sending themselves to their deaths.

"It's too late for that," Ivan said firmly. "Nicole Flamel was my teacher, and I'm not going to stand by and watch Grindelwald destroy his graveyard and his house."

If he had the intention of watching from the sidelines or running away if he couldn't win, now he had to stop them!

In addition, Grindelwald had been in France for at least two months, and who knew if he had spies in the Ministry of Magic?

Ivan didn't hesitate to step inside, and of course instructed Rolfe to keep an eye on the unconscious Dark Wizards.

Rolf waved his wand and conjured several ropes to tie up the Dark Wizards, but Niffler, who was lying on his shoulder, was pawing at the ropes and looking anxiously in the direction of the portal… It smelled treasure.

"Do you think we should go help, too?" Rolfe murmured to himself, trying to calm her down. He was also worried about Ivan going after her alone, but he doubted he would be of much help.

"Wait a minute…it's not as if we don't have a chance." Rolfe suddenly turned to look at the Thunderbird that was tied up next to him. He had seen how terrifying the Thunderbird's thunderstorms were when they were in the forest. It was definitely a formidable force!

Not to mention the Thunderbird's speed, which could carry them away in a crisis.

After much consideration, Rolf swung his wand and broke the chain binding the Thunderbird. He had previously healed and comforted the Thunderbird, gaining its trust, so he was not worried that it would attack him.

"I know you don't like wizards very much, but we're there to deal with the man who attacked you, and we need your help." Rolfe approached the Thunderbird patiently, gently stroking its golden feathers before tentatively mounting it.

The Thunderbird must have understood what Rolf was trying to say, because it did not try to get him off its back. Instead, it released several bolts of lightning to widen the tunnel, then flapped its wings and took Rolf with it.

… .

When Ivan came to his senses again, he found himself in a wide courtyard.

Unlike the previous visits, the place was heavily damaged, with the ornamental statue of the knight at the entrance broken into several pieces, and all that remained of the alchemical creatures that pruned the plants.

Apparently, they had both resisted valiantly, only to fail in their attempt to stop the invaders.

A large hole had been punched through the wall of the house in front of them, and a dark blue fire was licking along the edge. Ivan took two or three seconds to extinguish the fire so that it would not burn down the entire house, then he clenched his wand and stepped inside…
