Chapter 739 - Intimate Contact with Voldemort

Understanding the urgency of the situation, Harry and Sirius grabbed Ivan's wrists without delay.

"Apparate ~ (Phantom Disapparation)," Ivan immediately chanted.

However, the spell was forcibly stopped before it could start, and a pale, bloodless hand was placed on his shoulder.

Ivan felt a chill run down his spine, and his head snapped around to find Voldemort's strange snake-like face inches from his own, his red eyes fierce.

A cold chill was seeping through his shoulders and into his body. Ivan could feel the hand on his shoulder tightening rapidly as his life force was being drained away.

There was no time for surprise, no time for screaming, and Ivan, with his vast combat experience, made the right decision — he activated the Snake Eye at once!

The dark pupils of the eyes turned orange without warning.

They were basilisk eyes!

Caught off guard, Lord Voldemort was hit, and his grip on Ivan's shoulder faltered, and his face contorted in shock and anger.

Ivan, on the other hand, felt the magic in his body gushing out like a flood. He felt that he would be sucked dry in three seconds at most.

Sirius reacted quickly, drawing his wand as fast as he could and pointing it at Voldemort's snake face.

"Avada Kedavra ~ (Avada Kedavra)"

An emerald green fluorescent light shot out from Little Sirius's wand!

The voice sounded heavenly to Ivan, and he stared at Voldemort, hoping against hope that the spell would shatter him again.

Ivan was shocked to find Voldemort moving under the influence of his serpentine eyes, his lips opening and closing as if he were chanting.

The next moment, the green light hit Voldemort and sent him flying, his body turning into a black mist in midair…

Ivan was in no mood to check on Voldemort's condition, so he immediately put away his magical eye and cast another teleportation spell.

"Apparate ~ (Phantom Apparition)"

… .

With a series of spatial distortions, three figures appeared on top of a cliff.

Ivan was on his hands and knees, breathing heavily. The last exchange of blows had taken all his strength.

Not to mention the fact that he used Apparition in battle.

Ivan was terrified at the thought. He had less than a four-tenth chance of success when he cast the spell. Fortunately, luck was on their side.

"You-Know-Who… is he dead?" Sirius asked, recalling the scene in which he hit Voldemort with a Killing Curse.

Harry was also excited. Wizards struck by the Death Curse were doomed to die, if not die, and Voldemort would lose his powers.

"I don't think so…" Ivan shook his head, thinking that Harry and Sirius were too optimistic, and that Voldemort must have used some sort of charm to avoid the attack, which caused his body to break up.

If only the Eye had been more powerful and fully in control of Voldemort, Sirius's attack might have knocked him back into his true form.

Unfortunately, he only had one chance. He would definitely be prepared if he wanted to use it again in the future.

Ivan sighed at the thought, but when he faced Horcruxes in his second year, he realised that the magical eye had limited effect on Lord Voldemort.

Firstly, the other party's strength and magic were stronger than his, and secondly, the other party had fused with the Basilisk's bloodline, so his resistance was terrifyingly high.

"Where are we?" Harry struggled to his feet and looked around. The sea was in front of him and they were standing on a cliff.

The salty sea wind blew, and the sound of waves crashing against rocks could be heard.

'Isn't this where we destroyed the last of the You-Know-Who's Horcruxes?' Sirius asked, quickly recognising the place, turning his head to gaze at a Muggle village in the distance.

"That's right! The Professor is somewhere near the village. He'll be able to see us and come as soon as we give the signal from here!" Ivan went on, asking Sirius if the Order of the Phoenix had any signs of emergency contact.

Sirius thought for a moment, then raised his wand to the sky and fired a scarlet beam of light.

"As soon as Dumbledore sees it, he will understand that something very urgent has happened here."

Sirius's face relaxed, as did Harry's, and nothing was more reassuring than to know that Dumbledore was nearby.

Ivan, on the other hand, felt vaguely uneasy. He was the only one who understood that Dumbledore was under the influence of the Dark Arts on a Horcrux and was in no condition to fight.

"Wait… how come there's no sound?" Sirius asked curiously, as the charm should have exploded in midair to reveal a soaring phoenix.

Sirius jerked his head towards the sky, but all he could see was a dark cloud, and he could vaguely make out something moving in it.

"It's Voldemort's… You-Know-Who's magic! He's after us!" Ivan said urgently. He thought that even if his magical eye and Sirius's Death Curse could not hurt Voldemort, he would still need to rest. He did not expect Voldemort to come so quickly!

'Run!' Sirius roared, quickly grabbing Harry by the hand and running down the hill.

"Fiery!" Ivan shouted as he ran, casting Fire Spells all around.

Since there were no signs, setting fire to the mountain was the most obvious option. Dumbledore would have sent someone to investigate if he were nearby!

In fact, Ivan would have preferred to use Fire!

This was because the characteristics of a fierce fire were very obvious. Wizards could easily tell that it was not a natural flame, but the effect of dark magic!

The light of the fire made the sky grow darker, and this anomaly cast a pall over Ivan and the others.

Suddenly, a gloomy wail reached their ears along with the sea breeze. The black fog in the air suddenly condensed into a strange skull face.

The skull's mouth was wide open, and a python made of pure black mist swooped down from the sky towards the trio below…

Fear, despair, pain… At the sight of the Black Serpent, countless negative emotions overwhelmed them, consuming their courage and faith.

The thick black fog seemed to be able to deprive the forest of its life force. As the black python flew over the forest, the lush leaves withered and fell…
