Chapter 729 - Can I Touch Your Trophy?

After a few words of advice to Krum, Bagman called the champions to the podium.

Dumbledore, Karkaroff, and Maxim were already waiting, and Fudge replaced Crouch as the fifth referee.

After the champions had taken their places, the judges conferred in low voices for a while, considering the dignity of Beauxbatons and Durmstrang, before deciding to skip the point of scoring and announce the results directly.

Maxim and Karkaroff's grim expressions softened.

After the discussion, Bagman cleared his throat, walked to the front of the stage, and shouted, "Let's hear the final results of the champions!"

"First, the winner of the Triwizard Tournament, Mr. Ivan-Harrs, a Hogwarts champion!"

"Let us cheer for him!"

When Bagman finished speaking, the stadium erupted into thunderous applause, and many of the young wizards stood up and shouted excitedly.

"That's great! I knew it!"

"Do you see that? That's our Gryffindor champion!"

… .

Ivan's lips curled into a smile as he raised the trophy high in his right hand and gestured to the crowd.

This was not only because he had won the championship, but also because he had finally completed the system mission.

[Mission: Cup of Fire (completed)

Objective: Participate in the Triwizard Tournament and win!

Task Reward: Legendary Points*3

Task Description: Under your careful planning, this competition, held jointly by the three major European wizarding schools, will be reduced to a one-man show. Your outstanding performance and legendary achievements will be recorded in the annals of history along with this special competition!]

Looking at the mission information displayed on the system panel, Ivan felt a little awkward, but he could not pinpoint what was wrong. After thinking about it carefully, he realized that the mission instructions were too normal, and he was not used to it.

While Ivan was lost in thought, Bagman continued to read out the results of the match.

The second place went to Harry, as it should, and compared to the other contestants, he managed to sneak around the maze and subdue the Blast-Ended Skrewts and several giant spiders.

Beauxbatons' champion Fleur was third from the back.

As for Krum… he was naturally at the bottom of the list.

When Bagman announced the result, Karkaroff's face turned ugly, and the Durmstrang wizards glared at Krum, believing him to be a disgrace.

Fleur's situation was slightly better. With Krum's help, she was able to avoid being criticised by her fellow students, although some Beauxbatons girls did complain about her in private.

Minister for Magic Fudge's face lit up with joy. The Goblet of Fire was not just a matter of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, it was also a matter of his record as Minister for Magic and the reputation of the British wizarding community!

So when Ivan finished his speech, which lasted several minutes, Fudge personally presented him with the prize — a thousand Galleons in a bag that felt heavy in his hand.

"Lastly, allow me to say one more thing!"

Dumbledore rose to his feet at the end of the closing ceremony, his booming voice echoing throughout the stadium, drowning out the noise of the wizards.

There was a brief silence as the young wizards all turned to look at Dumbledore.

As everyone watched, Dumbledore gently waved his wand, and a purple beam of light shot into the sky, where it exploded a moment later.

Flags and petals fell from the sky and covered the Quidditch pitch…

"Tonight, I will acquiesce in your breaking some of the less important school rules. Celebrate, that's all I have to say…" Dumbledore said with a smile.

George and Fred immediately jumped for joy, which meant they were able to use up their usual stock.

The other wizards and witches began to rush from the stands towards the podium, surrounding the champions.

"Ivan, you're amazing. You defeated so many monsters in one go in the maze…" Seamus squeezed in front of Ivan and excitedly told him about the shocking scene he had seen in the crystal ball.

Seamus then turned his attention to the shiny trophy in Ivan's hand. His cheeks were flushed as he asked sheepishly, "Can I touch your trophy, Ivan?"

"Of course!" Ivan said, handing over the trophy.

Seamus took it with trembling hands, as if it were a treasure.

However, before he could get a hold of it, George and Fred snatched it away from him. They also wanted to touch Ivan's trophy to get their hands on it!

Ivan shook his head in amusement as he watched this, and continued talking to Alicia, allowing George and the others to play with the trophy.

He had already verified that the trophy was not made of real gold, despite its dazzling appearance…

The Ministry's stinginess was evident.

"You shouldn't have approved of them breaking the school rules, Albus…" McGonagall said helplessly, looking down at the noisy crowd.

It was unknown who threw the fireworks, but sparks flew everywhere and caused quite a commotion, and McGonagall was worried that someone might get hurt in the jostling.

"But it's certainly a day to celebrate, isn't it, Minerva? There's nothing wrong with relaxing properly…" Dumbledore began.

McGonagall shook her head and got straight to the point. "When do we go to the village?"

"Now, of course, when Voldemort may move at any moment…if we delay any longer, they will be impatient," Dumbledore said pointedly.

"But if we all go, what will happen to Hogwarts?" McGonagall hesitated.

"Sirius will be with Harry at all times tonight, and Severus and Flitwick will stay to keep the students safe," Dumbledore explained.

"In addition, the Aurors that Fudge brought with him stayed behind to keep watch until the maze was cleared and the dangerous creatures had been transported away. They would not sit idly by if anything went wrong…"
