The contrast of the dragon and the woman's exaggerated size worried the young witches and wizards in the audience, and several of the more timid witches screamed and closed their eyes when they saw Fleur approaching the dragon.
However, Fleur, who had come prepared, naturally chose not to fight head-on, but to circle the dragon.
The Swedish Short-Snout had a good temper and showed no intention of attacking. It merely roared threateningly and stayed close to the nest.
Due to the distance between them and the audience, Ivan could not see the dragon very well. He could only make out Fleur mumbling something under her breath as she continued to circle the dragon.
Ivan guessed this was some sort of special hypnotic magic.
However, the dragon's magic resistance was outstanding, and Fleur kept it up for half an hour before the Short-Snout finally succumbed to its drowsiness and fell to the ground.
Fleur breathed a sigh of relief and cautiously moved forward. As she passed the dragon, the audience's hearts leapt into their throats, fearing that it would suddenly wake up.
Fleur was also frightened and did not dare to take too wide a step. She kept her eyes on her feet to avoid stepping on stones and waking the sleeping dragon.
Fleur had to walk for over a minute to get there.
The moment she bent down and grabbed the egg, Fleur's nerves relaxed, and she knew she had done it!
However, before Fleur could rejoice, she was pulled back to reality by the cries of the spectators. The sudden increase in size of the shadow on the ground quickly blocked out the sunlight, and Fleur's heart leapt with alarm.
Without turning around, she knew that the Swedish Short-Snout behind her was awake!
In a split second, under the pressure of death, Fleur made the right choice. Without looking back, she leapt forward and narrowly avoided the descending claw, the debris hitting her and opening wounds.
The deafening dragon's roar deafened her and made her dizzy. She could only force herself to get up.
As a mother dragon that hatched eggs, when she saw her "child" being taken away, her violent anger immediately transformed into a scorching dragon breath that shot straight at Fleur, who had yet to recover.
Fortunately, the Dragon tamers who were standing guard rushed forward and cast a dozen protective spells to ward off the Short-Snout's fury. A large number of scarlet beams then blasted into the dragon's face, quickly stunning it again.
Fleur suffered only minor injuries, but she was traumatized by facing death twice in a row, and left trembling uncontrollably.
Harry and Krum watched the match from inside the tent through the curtain, horrified at the sight of the dragon, which was more dangerous than they had expected.
Ivan silently assessed the combat power of this top-notch magical creature. Its huge size, fiery dragon breath, and superb magic resistance…
In a one-on-one fight, Ivan believed that even a trained wizard would have to flee from a dragon.
It could be likened to a caveman with a spear facing an enraged mammoth, only to be killed by mere brush against the beast.
Of course, the wizarding limit was higher.
If it had been Dumbledore or Lord Voldemort, they would have simply waved their wands.
Most of the professors at the school also had the ability to defeat a dragon in a one-on-one fight, although it usually took some effort and there was a risk of injury…
All in all, it was a powerful magical creature, and Ivan felt that, if nothing went wrong, the four bloodlines he had in reserve would be dragons!
Yvonne was thinking about this when the shrill whistle sounded again.
Harry's body shook and his mouth tightened as he realised he was on.
"Go on! Don't be nervous, just do your best!" Ivan said reassuringly.
Harry nodded and walked out as if he were going to die.
When they reached the arena, Harry tried his best to calm himself as he looked at the dragon in front of him, which was too strong for him to fight. He followed the strategy he had thought of earlier — draw his wand and cast the Firebolt!
Fortunately, the thousands of practices yesterday were not in vain, and the Firebolt flew all the way from the castle.
Harry reached for the Firebolt and mounted it, feeling as though he were back in the Quidditch pitch, with the Golden egg as the Golden Snitch and the dragon as the Slytherin Beater and Keeper.
With this in mind, Harry gained some confidence and, braving the cries of the crowd, charged straight at the Hungarian Horntail.
Such a provocative action naturally infuriated the already ferocious Hungarian Horntail, and it continued to breathe out dragon's breath, which then exploded in mid-air, blotting out the sun. Harry, on the other hand, found an opening to move left and right, weaving back and forth under the dragon's claws.
Beams of dark brown light shot out of Harry's wand and struck the dragon in the face, but to no avail.
Understanding that his Eye-Disease Charm was so ineffective that it had to hit the dragon in the eye to be effective, Harry engaged the Hungarian Horntail!
The fierce chase was greeted with cries of delight from the young wizards, and screams of terror as Harry escaped from the dragon's jaws.
Krum, who was watching from the tent, turned green when he saw Harry casting the Eye-Disease Charm.
It took him and Karkaroff a long time to come up with the idea of using an Eye-Disease Charm to deal with a dragon, and flying was his speciality, but now Harry was using both!
It's over. What am I going to do? Krum felt his hands and feet go cold and his brain go blank.
Ivan couldn't help but feel sorry for Krum, who was now either copying Harry's actions and being accused of plagiarism, or having to think of something else.
However, Karkaroff was the one who targeted him, so he had to make things difficult for Durmstrang's champions!
The delay allowed Harry to hit the dragon in the eye.
Having lost their sight, the Hungarian Horntail was in a complete mess. It could only mindlessly attack everything around it, letting out furious roars.
Harry took the opportunity to dive under the Hungarian Horntail, dodging two stomps and stealing the egg with the speed of the Firebolt, earning cheers from the crowd!
When Harry left, the dragon tamers rushed in to clean up the mess.
It was accompanied by Bagman's whistle…
