Chapter 560 - Is There Some Misunderstanding?

"To be able to control such a powerful spell with ease and even accurately cut off my wand, such power is simply unimaginable!"

As he spoke, he removed a broken wand and several dozen golden Galleons from the pocket of his wizarding robes and scattered them on the floor.

These are the proofs!

Abbott picked up the end of the wand and examined it closely. The cut was so clean that even a high-speed blade would not have been able to cut it so cleanly.

Fiona Parkinson and the others picked up a few Galleons and examined them.

Rosier also used the Regeneration Charm to show them that once hit, the Shadowless Blade Charm could not be cured or repaired by normal means.

At this, Abbott's face fell and he said, "This is a new Unforgivable Curse?"

"No, it has a counter-curse!" Rosier Senior shook his head. "Remember that wound I showed you earlier? Sir Harls used the counter-curse to undo it!"

A heavy silence fell over the room. The evidence presented by Rosier Senior was proof of the veracity of his claims, and that Ivan Hals was perhaps far more powerful than they had first thought.

Otherwise, a thirteen-year-old brat would not have been able to command so many wizards and make old Rosier so fearful.

When Old Rosier saw that Abbott and the others had stopped refuting, he struck while the iron was hot and continued to console them.

"So, my old friends, all I did was make the right choice, not betray you! Because from the beginning to the end, there was no possibility of victory for us… It's just that I knew more and was the first to realize this, and that's all!"

Fiona Parkinson opened her mouth to retort, but she didn't know where to begin. They had clearly lost the battle of strength, and had no advantage in power, which they were proud of.

Ivan was, after all, very close to the Minister for Magic and the British wizarding leader, Albus Dumbledore.

Abbott and the others also looked defeated.

Rosier laughed and said, "If you look at it from a different perspective, it might not be such a bad thing. You might get a chance!"

"His Excellency's ambition is not limited to a mere Knockturn Alley, but rather the whole wizarding world!"

"Think about it, my friends! The benefits we will reap if Hales succeeds in taking over the wizarding community! Perhaps you and I will be the next Chief Executive, Chief Councilor, and Chief Judge!"

"We may be pure-bloods, but we're not as good as the top pure-blood families. We don't have much of an advantage over half-bloods and Muggles. Are you going to sit back and watch your families wither away?"

"This is the perfect time. If we miss it, we'll never get back up!"

As a pure-blood, he knew exactly what his old friends wanted, as he passionately described the future to Abbott and the others.

The four pure-blood wizards hesitated at this.

As the elder Rosier put it, they were not top-of-the-line pure-blood families, and it was awkward for them to be neither high nor low.

"It might not be as good as you make it out to be, Rosier! Even if Lord Harls were to take over the wizarding community, what would it have to do with us? How much place would we have as losers, even if we did surrender?" Fiona Parkinson questioned.

Abbott and the others were aware of this problem. Pure-blood families like them relied most on their connections, but the other side might not be interested.

If they did not contribute enough, they would not gain much even if the other party successfully took over the wizarding world!

"No, you're wrong, Fiona! Sir Harls is missing something that you and I both have!" Rossier Senior said mysteriously.

"You mean the Galleons?" Foley, who had been lying on the floor in silence, suddenly asked.

"Yes! The Golden Galleon!" Rosier nodded. "We can't do without it, either as a hired hand or as a developing force. As it happens, Sir Harls is short of funds, so this is our chance!"

Hearing this, Fiona and the others were tempted, but Abbott hesitated. This was, after all, a matter of life and death for the family, and it would be the end of them if they chose the wrong side.

Rosier Senior saw their concern and sneered.

"You don't think you have a choice, do you? Make no mistake, you're the ones who need to do something concrete to gain his forgiveness… or you'll end up executed and dumped in a pile of corpses in Knockturn Alley!"

"There are many rich and capable wizards and witches in the wizarding world, and countless others who can take your place at any time. Consider this carefully. You will only have one chance to choose!"

Rosier Senior did not try to be gentle, but used words that were almost cruel to present the truth to the crowd.

He looked around at the crowd and, after waiting for about fifteen minutes, slowly drew his new wand and pointed it at them.
