"Lupin's finished, Potter! You can't stop me!"
"I will expose him! A dangerous werewolf teaching openly at Hogwarts is gambling with our lives!"
Malfoy was making a lot of noise in the empty classroom, looking arrogantly up at Harry and Ron.
"Professor Lupin is the best Defence Against the Dark Arts professor I've ever known, and he's not dangerous at all, having been at Hogwarts so long and never hurting anyone!"
Harry angrily retorted, and seeing Malfoy's indifferent smirk, he pulled his wand out, ready to teach Malfoy a lesson.
"You think you can take me on, Potter?" Malfoy sneered, holding out his wand, as did Goyle.
For a time, the two sides faced each other, and the atmosphere was tense.
Just as they were about to attack, the classroom door opened.
Harry and Malfoy both looked pleasantly surprised and turned away, but Malfoy's face darkened when he saw who it was.
"Ivan, you're just in time. Malfoy is going to tell the Ministry about Professor Lupin!" Harry exclaimed.
"I know, Hermione told me on the way!" Yvonne nodded, then turned her attention to Malfoy.
Malfoy looked nervous and took a few steps back. "Hars! What do you think you're doing? I'm warning you, I've sent Crabbe to find the Professor and the Aurors. They'll be here any minute!"
It was then that Yvonne realised that Clark, who was always behind Malfoy, was not there, and she was troubled.
In all fairness, other than his status as a werewolf, Lupin had been a very competent professor throughout the school year, and his teaching skills were far superior to those of Chino and Lockhart!
Ivan naturally didn't want Lupin to go back to his homeless lifestyle because of his exposure.
Ivan, however, was put in a difficult position by Malfoy, who was threatening to report Lupin.
The easiest thing to do now, of course, was to use the Memory Charm, but with Harry and the others still around, and Clark going straight to the Professor, it would be pointless to wipe Malfoy's memory.
Ivan sighed and tried to persuade her otherwise.
"Malfoy, Professor Lupin is no threat to us! He takes his Wolfsbane Potion regularly every month, and while he's in his transformation he hides in the Shrieking Shack so as not to harm us…
Also, not every werewolf wizard is evil, and most of them are victims, assimilated into werewolves because they were attacked by werewolves!"
Malfoy hesitated at Ivan's words, but shouted at the top of his lungs, "What does that have to do with me, who knows if he's faking it!"
"Malfoy, you ungrateful bastard! If Ivan hadn't saved you last time, Buckbeak would have killed you… and Professor Lupin never had it in for you in class!" Ron shouted angrily.
Malfoy's face turned red, and he loudly defended himself for letting Hagrid and his stupid bird off the hook.
Moreover, he chose to expose Lupin for the sake of everyone's safety. After all, what if Lupin forgot to drink his medicine that day and went berserk in school?
Furious, Harry tried to punch Malfoy, but was stopped by Ivan, who looked at Malfoy and tried to calm him down.
"Malfoy, after a year of Defence Against the Dark Arts, you should know what Professor Lupin is like! Or would you rather have the next Lockhart or the next Professor Chino to teach you?"
Malfoy hesitated, as he had not intended to report Lupin.
After all, this year's Defence Against the Dark Arts class was very interesting, but he was not happy to see Ivan in the limelight today.
Why did Ivan have to hide the fact that he had been able to see through the professor's identity all these years?
This is unfair!
There was nothing Ivan could do about Malfoy's stubbornness, other than lament that Voldemort's curse was extraordinary, and that the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor could not be replaced every year.
Harry and Ron, on the other hand, did not give up and tried to use force to get Malfoy to change his mind, but Malfoy would rather die than admit defeat.
"Mr. Malfoy, I hear you have something for me?"
While they were arguing, the classroom door opened again, and a high-pitched voice came in.
Even without hearing the voice, Ivan knew it was Umbridge.
As expected, a pair of pointed leather shoes stepped through the door, and a middle-aged witch in a pink cardigan came in.
She was followed by several Aurors and several professors, as well as Malfoy's missing sidekick Crabbe.
When she saw Ivan and the others confronting Malfoy, Umbridge was overjoyed.
Prior to this, Umbridge had been annoyed when Clark informed her that Malfoy had something important to report to her.
What could a third-year brat possibly have to report that was so important? But now that she saw the confrontation in the classroom, her interest was piqued. They might actually know something important.
If he could get a hold of Dumbledore and get the Ministry to turn the tables on him, he might be able to move up the ladder.
Umbridge cast a casual glance at the professors around her and saw the slight change in their expressions.
'Mr Malfoy, if there's anything you want to say now, don't worry about anyone hurting you, the Ministry will see to it!' Umbridge said at the top of her voice.
All eyes were on Malfoy at once.
Lupin, who had come along with Malfoy, frowned, knowing full well that Malfoy would only report to the Ministry about his status as a werewolf. He opened his mouth to defend himself, but stopped himself with a bitter smile.
There is nothing wrong with Malfoy revealing his true identity, and a werewolf secretly teaching at Hogwarts is a real threat to students and parents…
Snape, unable to hide his joy, looked at Lupin with a gloating expression. He had waited a whole year for Lupin to get the hell out of here!
