Chapter 468 - Too Little Fun for Wizards?

While Ivan was deep in thought, Harry, who was chatting with Sirius about life, suddenly asked him a question.

"Sirius, the final Quidditch match is in three days' time. You'll be there, won't you?"

"Of course! I look forward to seeing you win the Quidditch Cup, just as your father did!" Sirius exclaimed, nodding in approval.

"My father?" Harry asked curiously. He had seen James Potter's trophies in the trophy room, but he did not know much about them.

"He's the best Quidditch player I've ever seen, and if we hadn't been so busy dealing with the Death Eaters after graduation, he might have been a player!"

Sirius laughed, then turned his attention to Harry.

"But I think you're going to overtake him! I was watching from around the stadium the last time we played. You're flying really well!"

"But I fell out of the sky!" Harry said, embarrassed at the memory.

"That's because of the Dementors, isn't it? And now you've beaten them! This is the perfect time to mount the Firebolt I gave you and win back the championship!" Sirius said encouragingly, patting Harry on the shoulder.

The thought of his new broom gave Harry some confidence and he nodded solemnly.

Harry then seemed to remember something and turned to Ivan, asking, "By the way, Ivan, have you thought about it? Are you going to play in this year's Quidditch match? Wood and the others have been waiting for your reply!"

"Ivan, are you also a Gryffindor Quidditch player?" Sirius asked curiously.

He had given Ivan a Firebolt as a gift in passing, as he had not seen Ivan at the Quidditch match.

"Yes, he played with us last year!" said Harry, nodding before Ivan could reply.

Harry became very excited when it came to Quidditch, telling Sirius about how they had beaten the other Houses together during their first year at Hogwarts, as well as Ivan's amazing flying and pitching skills.

Sirius could not believe his eyes when Harry told him that Ivan had scored twenty-five goals in a row, setting a new record for the highest goal scored in a single match at Hogwarts.

"Our Quidditch captain, Wood, thinks Ivan can go straight to the National Team!" Harry exclaimed.

'I guess I was right to give you the Firebolt!' Sirius did not think Harry had to lie to him, which only went to show how gifted Ivan was.

"I'm not as good a flier as Harry makes me out to be, I'm just a little better than average!" Yvonne said, waving off his flattery.

He knew his place, and his flying talent was terrible. In his first year, he had to use his foot to kick a broomstick into his hand.

In his second year, he showed off his skills on the Quidditch pitch because he used the experience card to cheat…

However, due to his improved control of his magic, and the fact that he had been practising on the pitch during the previous school year, Ivan felt that he would be able to look down on everyone on the pitch even if he did not cheat.

Given that the Firebolt Sirius gave him had never been used, Ivan hesitated, but eventually agreed to Harry's request for a Quidditch match.

For some reason, Ivan thought of Luna, the little witch who had gone to the Forbidden Forest to pick up materials and make handmade signs to cheer him on!

Since she treated him as her only friend and even made a sign for him, he could not disappoint her, right?

"Bravo! I bet Wood is thrilled! And Malfoy, he'd be shocked to see you at the game!"

To Harry's surprise and delight, Ivan agreed so readily, as he felt that the Quidditch championship was assured with Ivan's participation.

Seeing Harry's excitement, Ivan shook his head to himself, as he couldn't quite understand how a sport that flew into the air could be so popular.

Could it be due to the lack of entertainment for wizards?

Yvonne thought it likely that he had been uncomfortable in the wizarding world without his mobile phone or internet when he first arrived.

If it weren't for the fact that he was too young and wanted to learn all kinds of magic, he would have left the world to make money as a Muggle!

Ivan grumbled to himself, but he did not stop talking. After finishing the sweets on the table with the others, the night gradually darkened.

Harry's spirits remained high, as if he had an endless list of things to say, and wished he could tell Sirius everything that had impressed him since he was a child!

However, when he left the Dursleys to live with Sirius, he was interrupted by Dumbledore.

"Harry! Did you say you were planning to say goodbye to the Dursleys and move into Sirius's house this summer?" Dumbledore's expression turned grave.

"Yes! Sirius and I have discussed it…" Harry nodded, unaware of the gravity of the situation and still in a daze.

"That will not do, and I would not advise it!" Dumbledore shook his head.

"Why?" Harry asked, looking confused.

Sirius also looked at Dumbledore strangely.

Dumbledore spoke slowly.

"Do you remember what I told you once? Harry!

Thirteen years ago, on that night, your mother used an ancient and powerful charm to protect you from misfortune, transforming her love for you into protective magic that she infused into your skin to protect you until you reached adulthood!"

"Yes… you told me that it was because of this that Professor Chino was so badly hurt when he touched my palm two years ago…" Harry nodded hesitantly; of course he remembered.

"Yes! But there is something I have not told you!" Dumbledore's eyes under his half-moon spectacles stared at Harry for a moment, causing Harry to feel uncomfortable all over.

"The precondition for this spell to work is that you must stay close to someone who is related to you… which is why I sent you to the Dursleys when you were still a baby, because they are the only family you have left!"
